Getting better thx! But still not able to really work. 80% of the day I have to stay in bed. And my laptop is not capable of rendering...

I am obliged to ask as a member who liked your AVN and also as a human, how are you? Or rather, what is happening to you?
Thx for asking! :)

This year doesn't seem to be my year. At the turn of the year, I had heart problems. No heart attack or anything like that, but it was enough to force me to take a break from my day job and my side job. And it was (and still is) very scary. Unfortunately, I still don't have a final diagnosis.

For the last few weeks, I've been dealing with "just" a slipped disc (not sure if that's the right term... spinal problems).
Since this week, I've been able to do something other than lie down again. However, I can't stand or even sit for very long, and my biggest problem at the moment is the availability of specialists. The earliest appointment I can get right now is in September, and I don't plan on taking it easy until then. Still, I have to be careful because if I don't do the right thing during recovery, I could trigger another incident at any time.

All in all, it's nothing dramatic – but it's enough to prevent me from pursuing my hobby (developing the game).

Godspeed, man, everything will be alright.

I understand you. I suffer from the same lumbar hernia. The only thing that makes me feel better is, believe it or not, regular workout. What helps me the most on a daily basis is doing the camel-cat yoga position just 10 times every morning. It's the only medically proven way to reduce friction between the discs. I hope you recover soon from mountain sickness... (the mountain of years we've been carrying around, lol).

Mountain sickness, yup that sounds familiar! :D
Right now I do workouts three times a day. But these damn discs take their time to recover. I managed to get an appointment at a specialist next week. I think the next step will be some MRI snapshots and the we will see. But I think the only thing that will help right now is patience. But many thx for the advice! :)

It has been almost a year now with no updates. I was very excited about this game, but unfortunately my enthusiasm has faded due to the lack of progress. What once looked like a great game now feels abandoned.

To put a post on patreon with the title "Was this just another scam project?" behind a paywall says a lot tbh

It's how you'd like to understand that title. I'm trying to explain the situation that lead to this point und I made clear that you should not support this project right now, because I can't promise any date in the near future where I will be able to deliver new content. So tell me - where's the scam?

Hmmm, I never mentioned a scam
I just stated my honest opinion...
And the point is rather that, I should have paid for the information you have now provided me with
I do not see the issue with sharing this publicly
However, it is your game, your rules, all is well...

Okay, I actually have to apologize. Patreon is not my main platform, and I haven't earned a single cent there yet because the billing method was set to “per update,” which I never triggered. I really didn't have that on my radar until now. But there's really no question of a “paywall.”
In addition, I had only posted the post I quoted myself (the one in which I advise against supporting the project at this time) on SS. My mistake as well.

I have deactivated the Patreon tiers with immediate effect. The only places where I continue to maintain the project are itch.io and SubscribeStar. On SubscribeStar, this post has been up since June 9, in which I clearly state that I cannot say when the next update will come. And the post has been readable by everyone from the very beginning.

So I'm sorry that this has created a false impression. I let people say a lot of things about me: that I'm lazy, that I have my priorities wrong, and even that I have no talent, but I definitely don't want anyone to think that I'm only interested in users' money. That has never been my intention, and it never will be.

It has been almost a year now with no updates. I was very excited about this game, but unfortunately my enthusiasm has faded due to the lack of progress. What once looked like a great game now feels abandoned.
There's no question that the last update was too long ago, and I'm the least happy about it. I hope that I'll be able to get the latest version online soon and, above all, that the update frequency will increase again at some point. And I hope that you'll stumble across this thread again and be happy to see a sign of life.

I would like to add something else:
I started this project because I really enjoy playing these kinds of games and because I thought, “I can do this too, and I can do it without people thinking I just want their money.” Well, here we are.

Like so many others, I vastly overestimated how much work goes into a project like this. It's not enough to just know how to use a program to recreate scenes and then put the whole thing into a game engine. There's so much more to it than that.

And I recommend it to all of you:
Try it out for yourselves before you judge others!

You get results very quickly, and they're not bad at all. But turning that into a long-term project, constantly improving without having to start over again and again, and perhaps also doing community work at the same time, is really more work than you might think.
