Hi everyone,
Just throwing it out there for the few people who can't seem to save the game (like me).
For some unfathomable reason, RPGM games apparently shouldn't be installed in Program Files (don't ask me why). Where should you install them then? Fuck if I know. But worry not: just run the game as Administrator and it should solve your problem. Better yet: right click the .exe, go to properties, the compatibilities panel and tick the "Run as Administrator".
Any tech wizard who knows why DLotC can't be installed in Program Files?

bro you just need to make a folder on your desktop for example and put the game there. There is literally no rocket science involved in it
Yeah bruh, and if you do even a tiny whinsy bit of file management, maybe you don't want random folder cluttering your desktop. Have anything useful to say yet?
Honestly I just shove them into an nsfw vidya folder in my 3D Objects directory. Not like it's being used for anything else, really. Should work since it works for me.

So make a game folder? or just let it download to default download file and extract them there. If you don't want a solution why did you post a problem? If you can't deal with a proposed solution...cool...look for another one.

C:\Games or whatever your drive letter is. common used folder by many actual PC games, but really the game is a portable program that can be run from almost anywhere. Finding a place to put your portable programs is a must, but ultimately only you know how your folders are set up, and what works for you. Desktop\games works for some or Documents\games. Some even just use Downloads/games.

You don't know how to change the key to open the phone? It is a very unfortunate solution to assign the "p" key to open the phone because you have to reach for it every time. I would change it to a key closer to escape or the best solution would be to add a phone open button to the menu that opens with "escape".
But I don't understand anything about RPGM games, so I don't know what to do. Maybe this key changes somewhere in the "CommonEvents.json" file?
It annoys me so much to open the phone with the "p" key that it makes me not want to play. But I like the artwork, so I want to find a solution before I permanently delete the game and forget about it.

Bro it's one key. You're letting ONE key rule your judgement. It doesn't matter how many paragraphs you write about that. There's no way just ONE key can make you stop playing a game, it's ridiculous. I'd understand if all the controls were twisted and uncomfortable, but it's just one key.

Same I said before. If every single key was twisted and uncomfortable I'd get ot, but ONE KEY! Just one. It almost sounds like he wanted an excuse to stop playing this and chose that one because he couldn't find another.

On the one hand: It is a fair point about it being the 'P' key and that being kind of annoying. It is isolated from both the WASD and mouse, which doesn't help with quickly opening it. If you are prone to fat-fingering, or are just not great with keyboards in general, finding the information you are after is going to be slowed before needing to navigate through menus. The only other option is going through to the Key Items screen through the main menu.
On the other hand: My guy it really is just one damned key. If this were a high-pressure game, and something vital to survival were locked behind it, I would back you 100%. But it's not, and you will be fine if you move your hand from WASD or the mouse for a moment. It's a lot like masturbation itself in a way - lots of stopping and starting, back and forth, and you are often left standing with your dick in your hand wondering what's next. Opening the phone with 'P' takes an amount of time most would consider to be pedantic to count.
Actually, why are you trying to keep both hands on WASD and the mouse? They achieve the same thing, easy access to movement and menus. You can spare a hand for the phone key, because all the porn stuff happens when you can't use your phone anyways.
