I actually play this game for the world, art and the character development lol Sure the adult parts are cool too but I would 100% play this if it was an adveture or a farming game lolyeah i agree thats my favorite part about this game . soo true this is one of the very few games i would still play even if it didn't have any adult content at allI actually play this game for the world, art and the character development lol Sure the adult parts are cool too but I would 100% play this if it was an adveture or a farming game lol
It's supposed to be a lighthearted game where MC is put in positions where he has sex with other characters. You know, it's been a good long while since I tried this game even though it's been on my (very short) watch-list of games on here for more than half a year. Yet even back in the one version I tried I never managed to muster enough care to put in the effort to see all the content it offered, and every version since I have noticed yet felt no inclination to actually play. It's a strange feeling; on a conceptual level I like the game, I like some of the fetishes included, and I'm quite fond of the art-style... yet I have no desire to see more of it.
I was asking myself why that is, and after pondering for a good long while, I think the explanation is specifically the player character (PC) of the game. And after mulling it over a while longer, I decided to just try to ask if other people who might care more about the game have seen something that might change my mind and encourage me to give the story another chance.
Reminder and disclaimer: I only played one version over half a year ago, and even in that version I explored very little outside the scenes involving Daisy and Anna. I saw a few, but I mostly ignored all of that. Ironically one of the characters I ignored back then was the bully-girl from the neighboring farm - Mabel, I think? - because their behavior instantly struck me as clearly abusive toward each other, yet some of the things I've read since seem to suggest that their relationship may actually be the most wholesome out of the bunch. Maybe experiencing Mabel's scenes would change my mind... but I doubt it.
Now, my problem with the PC isn't his appearance; his boyish exterior and oversized genitals are a little distracting, but not dealbreakers to me. What bothers me is his personality. In essence, I think this PC - as with a lot, if not most, of male main characters in pornographic games - is an unapologetic scumbag.
He feigns ignorance about a lot of things, especially things of a sexual nature, while obviously having both knowledge and experience, just to seem falsely innocent while he does morally questionable things. Both from what I've seen in the game, from the descriptions of scenes in the phone and in spoiler-images and -animations shown on here, he is manipulative and deceptive, happily taking advantage on women's ignorance and vulnerability just to satisfy his own desires... and on top of that he usually tends to do so without those women even realizing that he is not as innocent as he seems. And some of the things I recall reading about in the phone but never saw (nor wanted to see) was even worse, like the one girl whose phone-progression seemed to suggest he was going to blackmail and abuse her.
It's fine if that is truly who he is, and it's equally fine if you're okay with that, but he just seriously rubs me the wrong way. Either he is extremely inconsistent, or he's viciously manipulative. There's nothing wrong if that is the intent, but it just means that the stories he is involved in probably aren't for me, regardless how fond I am of this art-style and incest.
Ironically this PC reminds me of another PC from another game, though only in that they are complete opposites of one another: Ryen from Renryuu: Ascension. Only whereas the PC of this game appears innocent but seems to me to for all intents and purposes be a secret monster, Ryen acts cold and abrasive to almost everyone he meets... yet beneath that hard exterior he obviously deeply cares about those close to him.
I found myself initially being on-board with innocent, naive PC of this game, and put off by the superficially antagonistic behavior of Ryen... and as the stories progress, I find myself more and more disturbed by this PC while Ryen won me over long ago.
So... yeah... TL;DR: Is the PC of this game an abusive scumbag, or am I missing something?
If PC means Principal Character then no, he's not. He hardly has the strenght to abuse anyone (in fact, he's a victim of abuse in 2 scenes). A scumbag? Well, depends. He does take advantage of his innocent appereance, but he does not go further than the girls want (basically, not rape), although there's one scene in which he actually rapes someone because of the effects of an aphrodisiac drug he consumed without knowing what it was.You know, it's been a good long while since I tried this game even though it's been on my (very short) watch-list of games on here for more than half a year. Well, some people do not like some tags precisely because they can't toss aside their own values. I, for instance, am unable to enjoy rape games. It's supposed to be a lighthearted game where MC is put in positions where he has sex with other characters.
Holy shit dude, why would you even think about morality behind this and overthink this? Jesus Christ
Me neither. This game does nothing that portrays MC as a "scumbag" and certainly isn't the theme the game is going for. Why overthink it and apply real life logic to this game is beyond me.Well, some people do not like some tags precisely because they can't toss aside their own values. Because for some people, blackmail and psychological abuse can be a big turn-off. And that can be a bit jarring to see mid-tug.Why overthink it and apply real life logic to this game is beyond me.
Not true. There are a few instances of pretty garbage behavior, like taking advantage of Emmi's innocent mindset and desire to see her students thrive and Douie's (I will never be used to that name) familial affection, both to get a crumb of coochie. He lies to several people about his sexual knowledge and intent and is performative to attempt to shed trouble. On Mabel's route he is attempting to steal the answer key for the week's-end test in school, and as stated above he blackmails her. This game does nothing that portrays MC as a "scumbag"
Kind of. Some of it can be attributed to Milda Sento being ESL, like the MC calling Ana a 'clumsy pussy' after the morning BJ. The game is full of odd phrasing as a result, so the MC can come off as insensitive or stupid, even when the attitude of the conversation suggests otherwise. Is the PC of this game an abusive scumbag, or am I missing something?
It's also worth pointing out that the descriptions of events in the phone can vary wildly from what actually happens in the scene. Pixie's 'Morning Wrath', for instance - nobody involved is anywhere near angry.from the descriptions of scenes in the phone
100% i'd do it for nothing on my free time honestly lol , feel like some clever jokes and making the dialogue a bit more concise could actually make this game a 5/5Yeah, the writing in this game needs an English editor. It is very painful to read in places, and my editor brain is always on the verge of exploding. If they paid me a bit, I would do it (my job involves a lot of editing and ESL correction).
Gallery mod?you can just use the gallery mod, u have access to all h scenes through it even if you have not completed them in game
Ah, it sounds like you understand my perspective. It doesn't matter that the PC (oh right, his name is Callum) isn't as physically powerful as the women he is with because abuse doesn't have to be physical. It also sounds as though my impression of him is correct in his complete openness to lie, deceive and manipulate any vulnerability he can for his own sexual gratification. Too bad.Not true. MC is by no means some tactical genius or evil mastermind - if there's no pussy or booba at stake he's actually pretty dense - but he is definitely out past the shallows of the 'dickheaded fuckboy' pool.

Right, Mae, not Mabel. Mabel was the blackmailed one. As mentioned it's been a while. It may be worth pointing out that Mabel (Mae is the neighbor girl) was attempting to cheat the same way when she encounters the MC. She escapes about as well as she studies.
As I wrote before:He's certainly opportunistic and selfish, but that's standard operating procedure for MCs in these games. It is a well-worn but sturdy mold.
It may be common and generally accepted among their playerbase, but so are plenty of things that I avoid, which is one of the big reasons I skip by far most of the games on here. I, for one, avoid games with player characters I view as irredeemable, and from what I saw and you confirmed Callum is right on the edge of that for me. And before anyone starts mocking me for bringing in morals into a porn game again, let me reiterate that I'm not condemning the game, its story, characters or its players for any of this, I'm just trying to determine whether I should just let this game be a personal loss for me and unwatch it.In essence, I think this PC - as with a lot, if not most, of male main characters in pornographic games - is an unapologetic scumbag.
The countryside is cursed by a magic circle that makes the MC or people around the place to do perverted stuff, but they contain themselves to not do it, like a hidden switch, MC don't remember the stuff that happened in the past because the magic circle makes the people go numb, and so he forgets easily or simple doesn't know sometimes why is he doing stuff, but at the same time he just embrace it at this point, because at first he was scared and innocent, (you can tell if you start a new game) but the more time he spends in that place, the more perverted the things gets! But allow me to finally ask a much simpler, more to-the-point question: does Callum ever actually show any sign of actually caring about any of these women as more than potential penis-receptacles?
While I would be somewhat interested to hear how this theory is substantiated - that is, what evidence points to this being the case - it also sounds like a "no" to my question. Don't get me wrong, it would make him less of a scumbag if he really was being influenced by something outside of his control, but in the time I spent playing back then I don't recall seeing anything pointing to any other conclusion than Callum being influenced beyond him just seeming weirdly inconsistent.
That's the theory
It feels odd to call the little toerag by a first name when beyond the default he doesn't have one, but on the other hand repeatedly typing 'the MC' is kind of... I don't know. I'll probably waver back and forth. Anyway. But allow me to finally ask a much simpler, more to-the-point question: does Callum ever actually show any sign of actually caring about any of these women as more than potential penis-receptacles?
I'd forgotten about the circle. It's a thing! It is a thing that is in the game. Pixie tells you about it, but it's a part of the script where the ESL hits a little harder, so the explanation seems kind of garbled at points. What I got is that it seems to soften inhibition and aversion to the odd, and that since Callum was away for a while, he's resistant to it. But he makes up for it with spirit. While I would be somewhat interested to hear how this theory is substantiated - that is, what evidence points to this being the case
Eh, I mean... I guess "I don't want a person I want to have sex with to literally die" is a kind of caring, but it also seems like a really low bar to pass. Still, I suppose I might have to give him some credit for taking action, though obviously without context I don't really know whether Callum was in any way under the impression that interrupting would put himself at risk.Elphaba, the witch in the woods, is kind of a magical segregationist. The magic beasties have their world, we have ours, it just works. There's an event on her route that lends a lot of credence to her thought process. Pixie does small-scale agricultural business outside of her world, which puts her in direct conflict with Elphaba's ideals. Callum would like to put his penis in both women. Elphaba catches and near-fatally drains the energy out of Pixie, which Callum puts a stop to by being very loud and whiny. Naturally, this does lead to a sex scene. But he wasn't angling for that by acting out, he just wanted Pixie safe.
Eh... while I guess I appreciate that he at least has the decency to think cheating is wrong, the last part sort of negates any points that would give him. Having the opinion "I think cheating on your spouse is wrong" coexist with "I am going to have sex with this married woman" just makes him a hypocrite. That's a point against him in my book, not one in his favor.Douie is married to an asshole, Mr. Carter, who cheats on her in the vineyard with some random ho on the weekends. They're both really bad at sex talk. Anyway, Callum hears about this from Mae, who doesn't really react too negatively to it. She's not happy about it, but since it works for them, it works for her, I guess? Callum doesn't share this line of thought, and thinks it's kind of fucked. It's not going to stop him from trying to pipe down Douie, naturally; I doubt he'd refrain from trying even if the marriage was healthy and Carter wasn't a dickhead. I can't blame him.
This one is more thought than action, but it counts for something that (unless I forgot, it's been a hot few minutes) he isn't trying to manipulate Douie to cheat because her husband does, he just wants to fuck her.
Ah, so it's not actually a theory but rather stated as a fact in dialogue. I'm undecided on what to think about that... and they say that Callum is resistant?! Holy shit, it's a wonder everyone else in town even bothers to wear clothes! If they're affected more strongly than him, they must spend every free moment masturbating or having sex with each other!I'd forgotten about the circle.
