I specifically adressed you saying "if story doesnt matter, go watch porn", which is a nonsense that gets repeated far too often. "If story is so important, go read a book". It goes both ways. I don't get to determine the value of your "research", and you don't get to determine what other people deem valuable in a game. Good for you! I'm not even being sarcastic, I mean that genuinely. My objective with the analysis was never to convince people who like Daily Lives not to like it, nor even to convince anyone to not like Callum... at least not in the context of the game and story. If seeing Callum the way I described him in the analysis makes the story even better for you, that's great; that means I actually managed to provide enjoyment, which is always a good thing.

EDIT: I realized after posting this that it might not be fully obvious from the post I quoted myself from, but my point is that I didn't mean that players who just want basic porn shouldn't play this (or any other porn game with story and characters), I just meant that if they specifically don't care about the story there is no reason for them to play the ones that do. If you like the game, story, characters and porn that's great. The original quote you took of me was in response to someone essentially referring to discussing story and characters as "useless shit." Thus the logical response was, paraphrased for better comprehensibility: "if story and character is useless shit there might be other things suited better for you."
I am not, nor have I at any point wanted or tried to gatekeep the game; that is a motivation you put on me. I made a recommendation, which you - due to the toxicity people seem to expect as soon as they are online - misinterpreted as saying "you don't belong here." People are so damn quick to think that everyone is out to get everyone else.

As for the strawman argument working better if you had read the analysis: the same argument applies to this entire discussion (currently mainly between Draupnir7, Lewyn Collins and myself): if you don't like the discussion, don't read it. Just scroll past. And if you want to participate you are welcome to do that, too.

I played through the entirety of Town of Passions already and I agree, that game handles a similar concept much more... I don't know if I want to say "elegantly", but the player character is indeed a decent-ish guy in that. Haven't tried Zombies Retreat or Alvein, will have to take a look at those... though I also have a backlog of wanting to get up-to-date with Renyuu: Ascension, and at some point I really need to pull myself together and play the rest of Monster Girl Quest: Paradox... and I need to catch up on writing In the Box, which I neglected while working on the analysis...
Eh, I'll add them to the list and get to it eventually.


Doing something sexually motivated isn't a problem in itself, especially in a porn game. If thinking like that is the worst he does I can easily accept that.

I agree! Both of those games are pretty good! I can also recommend Life With a Slave - Teaching Feeling, though it's a bit of a different genre than the the rest.

You know, reading the couple of posts before this one got me thinking... for all of my analyzing Callum, even after firmly establishing that he is special somehow, the story doesn't offer any explanation as to why he is special, only how he is (he has super-semen, pretty much). But I can't help but wonder if we can't predict what the case might be based on what is currently in the game.
Assuming, of course, that Milda isn't just pulling stuff out of their ass and going with whatever feels right in the moment of writing rather than trying to build a world that makes sense. Which is definitely a possibility. But let's not think about that right now.

this is the one, mostly based on the fact that Callum's dick can also change size depending on the scene (and i mean even beyond the fairy dust, in some scenes it's 20 inches while in some others it's like 6) so i have to assume anything about him also changes depending on the scene. Basically it's all an excuse for the porn, may sound shocking i know

Hmmm....as much as I enjoy a good story, honestly this game wouldn't really benefit from it imo. It's too inconsistent with the thought process and actions of the characters. If it's hard to find a good writer, Milda should just cut their losses and make the game more like a nukige. Just forsake story and make the H happen because H. I'm basically just here for the animations and artstyle, everything else is just a nice extra.

Basically, if this game was going to rely on story it should have focused on Daisy and Anne primary until their routes were completed only veering off in relation to characters directly involved with the progression of their stories. ATM it feels like Milda's thought process is "What do I want to add?" rather than "How do I progress from here?" which doesn't really work for a game with a story.
