Here's the compressed collection from 2015 to 2025-02 based on OP. All JPGs, PNGs, GIFs, and videos are included and compressed. Archives are extracted, folders are sorted and formatted to be updateable. Archive files are highly compressed, going from the original 75GB to 35GB, and then further down to 19.5GB (after archived). 7zip or similar software is recommended.

You should avoid using lossy formats when the original image is already saved in a lossy format; the image will just degrade even more. It is fine to convert PNGs to WEBPs or JPEGs. Opening a JPEG in an editor and saving it as a WEBP or even as a JPEG again (no matter the settings used) is a no-no.

If you want to optimize JPEGs, you should use jpegtran from libjpeg/mozjpeg. Its transformations are lossless. It does not have a GUI though.

It's the same story with other media formats, by the way. Both audio (MP3s are lossy) and video (H.264 & H.265 codecs are lossy).

The main point of my uploads is to reduce the overall collection file size while maintaining the best possible JPG quality by removing some metadata stuffs and unfortunately.. reencoding the images. My goal is to make the files as small as possible for storage or use, with some degradations that either unnoticeable or at least the image still looks good.

I did try using libjpeg-turbo, but I didnt like the results. Thanks for the suggestion though. Maybe I will give it another try
