Could this be a reason why Dandy Boy Adventures is being delayed for the update?

Yes? I think the dev(s) ran out of money and wanted in on the Steam cash-fountain. They realized DBA couldn't be pared down enough to fit Steam's guidelines and decided to pivot to a new game.
Their plan is still to have DBA on Steam. But they ran out of money apparently and think this new game that doesn't look interesting will somehow fund them to finish DBA... that's their plan anyways.

Not really "delayed", more like "indefinitely ON HOLD" while working on other games with a much smaller scope.
The dev listed the halloween and christmas specials as examples, so i don't expect anything interesting from this.

Like when you see an interesting thumbnail preview of a porn video, but then you realize it is only like 1 minute long. That's not even a teaser when you wanted a full menu in three courses.

Games on Steam do, afaik, make outrageously more money than other sites. Putting a short finished game for some immediate moolah isn't a terrible idea, albeit they are perhaps a bit optimistic on return. Making the sprites for characters can be most of the work on shorter 2d games; making original sprites is decidedly not a reduction in work-load. If they're putting in this much effort they probably should have just worked on the game that had all the sprites done (twice) and people were already paying them for. Maybe split DBA into chapters and put up DBA: Starting Out or whatever on Steam. Honestly, there's probably an element of creative burnout, writer's block, perfectionism, an artist being a diva, resentment toward their creation, or DBA's code being an unwieldy mess in this decison.

On a positive note, if Lust Planet is a one-and-done complete release, the chance they go back and waste effort to make the sprites worse is much lower!
But never zero. :devilish:

Look around thread. The game hasn't been updated in well over 2 years so if you don't find a save for the game then it just doesn't exist.

If this game already has a steam page with the backing of a publisher (Shady Corner Games in this case) then its chances of actually getting released are much more likely. At least hopefully. It'll probably be a long wait (be it full game on launch or early access), but it's not as at-risk of being abandoned or shelved when an h-game having a steam page indicates that it's probably pretty far in development already. But then again I'm not a game developer so I don't really know for sure. A bit disappointing that Dandy Boy Adventures is on hold, but I'm a sucker for pixel art in h-games so at least Planet Lust will give me something.

I also like sci-fi stories of colonizing the solar system (especially Mars) so its interesting plot wise and sex wise.

Speaking of which, who are your favorite heroines/waifus of Planet Lust? My rankings are as follows:

  1. Anna Berg
  2. Michelle Jenkins
  3. Yun Ji-Min
  4. Zoe Roux

In that order. You think there might be other recruitable heroines later in the game? Highly doubt it since Mars is a lifeless husk of its former self with only fossilized microbes to show for its biological past. But I guess you could get recruits from different human settlements or space aliens either from other planets or a Native Martian population that lives underground. Either way, we won't know for sure until the game comes out.

3. Michelle Jenkins / Yun Ji-Min (can't really decide between them, they don't seem that interesting to me)

4 heroines seems too few for this dev, in DBA there were a lot of 1 scene charachters, so I think it will be the same. But sadly I don't know anything about the game other than what the dev posts on twitter, which is not a lot. The only things I'm hoping for is that the game comes out completed, so we don't have to wait for updates, and gets enough money so that the dev can continue with DBA.

Devs should just sell their unfinished games to other devs that actually want to work and finish a game(and have the pixel art skills etc) to do it :LUL:
Well, the original pixel art is all right here for anyone who wants to get started on that.
