Isn't that the story of every dev that abadons their games?
it is, but this seems genuine, he also has a post about it on patreon, plus i've been following him for a long time so i doubt he will abandon a game that is his pride and joy, he also teamed up with another studio to make things happen, besides amongst all of the H games out there DBA is by far one of the better one's.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Dev makes good game, gets good support, doesn't give people updates that they want, tries to sell a game to Steam for even more money making it into more than just a porn game, never happens, gives some Xmas or some crap update, more months go by, starts a whole new game trying to release a complete game to Steam for more money to support old game, mentions "chapters"... :LUL: yeah people are going to support your unfinished chapter game

You guys are aware there is tons of games that have chapters system, to give a start and ending to a sequence of a storyline, what he mentioned was, that the first chapter will be free so that people can test it, like in the old days when we had demo's of games and to get the rest of the game you will have to pay has any normal game.

Maybe the reason he is running into financial problems is because he lost subscriptions from people being disappointed that he didn't update the content of the game in forever? How can a single dev be so indecisive man. This hurts cuz DBA was such a good game and now it's dead and the dev will do anything he can to keep milking off of it's rotting corpse.

yeah, hard to keep patreon subs when all you do is release holiday events, update existing art and break saves on top of it all, with 8 months between each time

So is this abandoned or what? Been forever since I've heard any news.
Dev is said to be working on another game. Couldn't make much money with the first and struggled with it. Looks like it will be on hold for a while. Shame on those for putting the dev down while not offering any sort of support, and while expecting a free completed game.

These brain dead wastes of space expect indie game devs to turn out complete games in a short amount of time.

Is it free? How much did he make on Patreon?

I remember Patreon showing around $2,000 a month. But then there's Patreons cut, and I don't know how much they take from the dev. There's also the cost of living which is pretty high, in which a game dev will have to have a job to be able to pay the bills. $2,000 is nothing in most sates and that alone barely covers rent prices.

And he didn't pause subscriptions while working this other job?

"Around $2000 a month"

They were supporting him with $2000 a month until he stopped updating his game and stopped communicating with his patrons at all. When he goes radio silent for months and follows it up with "sorry the thing you wanted is on indefinite hiatus give me money to make new thing", these "braindead wastes of space" are not obligated to keep paying him, and they are perfectly justified in being upset that the money they were putting towards this particular project went nowhere.

Oni and Brakus never stopped communicating, patreons were up to date with everything.

2K a month it wasnt enough for them to go Full time (both of them have families to feed), so normal for the updates taking a bit more time to drop and with them having to work a real job aswell with effect the development, there was also some miss-management here and there with ambitious implementations.

Their new project is focused to make enough income to continue DBA production, who know perhaps dba will go same path has the new game if it sell well.

It easy to complain and point things without valid information or know about stuff around here,
at the end of the day everyone wants the project to continue but nothing is has easy has words.
