Overview:
This first novel that does not have a name, is a part of a series of novels that are planned to release by the name of Dark by Dawn. It follows our protagonist, Walker, from a mysterious past and into a colorful future. There's numerous player choices that can be made along the way with more coming from player suggestions later on. Dark by Dawn has multiple planned novels that will detail our adventures. All of them are fanfiction based on Star Wars and have no intention of violating copyright.

There's 3 version of the game and they all have varying levels of porn. The free release has 3 porn scenes every half-chapter, the $5 patreon has 6 every half-chapter, and the $10 patreon has 9 every half-chapter. We are planning on adding additional encounters in the patreon version that are not in the free version.

We conferred about this for a bit and decided that we are going to release all the scenes for the first chapter but limit it after that. We aren't entirely sure what to do for patreon benefits and are trying the best we can at the moment. If you would like to suggest an idea we are all ears for it.

None of the assets are made by us and will slowly be replaced with our own original assets by the time we get to release the full novel. As it stands currently, we do not have any spare funds for hiring artists or getting animations done due to us being college students that are doing this in our free time.

Yes every character is COMPLETELY placeholder and will be fixed in coming updates to this demo of the story.

I apologize for that, we are going to be fixing all the character sprites in coming versions, next update will feature an entirely new sprite for the main character Walker.

Maybe after a few updates.

That's a much nicer reply than when I told Captain Kitty that the only thing I disliked about his games was how robotic the movements looked in some of the scenes. They flipped out on me, lol.

Having bad photoshop in an early release isn't a big deal. I've been using these forums for getting close to two years, and I know how it goes sometimes. Like Paprika Trainer and the very strange choices of placeholder art
As I said. I'll just wait for a couple updates to try it out so I can give a real opinion.

Be warned, though. I think there are only two decent Star Wars type games on the site. And one of those was only really good for the first half because of staff issues (Orange Trainer). So people's expectations will probably start quite low.

The reason why the character looks a bit weird is because they used magic stick on the picture to remove the background instead of using gimp2 which has a lasso tool that is just like connect the dot place a dot and then another following what you want to keep and when you get back to the first dot click it to connect the whole thing and then use cut to remove it. You can also move and adjust the dots to better spots if needed.

The problem with using magic stick is that all the lines have to be very definitive from each color because if all the colors are close together in color and brightness when you click one color it'll go into the other colors and if you remove it then it's also remove stuff you didn't want removed.

Sounds like this is a straight VN rather than a game but the usual path is:
Early release for patrons followed by a full free release for everyone else a few weeks later
Lower resolution version for free
If there is a game element then offer cheats for patreons
Patreons get access to artwork/storyboards etc
Patreons can vote on story elements. what they want to see next/character names/kinks/ locations etc.
Discord Access.

Just be aware that whatever you offer to patreons, in terms of game content, will eventually get leaked here for free anyway. Doubly more so if what you are producing is any good. You should really be aiming to have people back you for being you (decent communicator, delivering on time, no flame wars), rather than worry too much about content restriction.

Comparing anything to Death Star Trainer is FAR from a good thing by the way.

That's one thing we don't want to have by the time we release the full chapter 1, robotic animations. Gonna try to do as best we can without a dedicated artist so we won't have character facial sprites for a bit but we're trying to find one for later on.

I would recommend waiting for the planned full demo after the beta demo, that will be when a lot of it is put together and accessible.

Starwars is a passion for both myself, our assistant writer, and our (newly established) content manager. Hopefully we won't let anyone down in our attempts to share that with everyone we can.

The problem with walker's current sprite vs everyone else's is that we had no idea how to use photoshop when we started. Since then, I would like to believe that we got much better with it and just hadn't gone back to redo walker's picture yet.

Its not going to be a straight VN, we are releasing the story elements before the game elements since I only know enough python at the moment for doing the storyside, im learning though and it won't be long.

Thank you for the patreon ideas, we will talk internally about it and figure that out later. For now, the first half chapter will have full content for free just to put it out there.

A ton of games lock content behind their patreon pages but yeah we are going to figure something else out for patrons.
