Since it's AI generated image can't they just make a different character?
No way! That's too much work!

If you're going to go the AI route, can't you at LEAST spend enough time to flesh out your game? A lot of this just looks extremely generic. A lot of popular games are memorable games, so if you want to be a popular dev you will want to make a memorable game.

Alright folk, here's the beginning of the Ai avalanche of low effort garbage. It's only gonna get worse.
Usually I'm the kinda guy that does not exclude ANY tags, and I mean none, I check out almost every single upload. But this time I'm tempted to ask for a ''Ai'' art tag so I know to avoid.

Edit: Ah wait there is one nvm I'm blind.

Because AI isn't good enough to create art for any scenario that would be memorable. The best it can do is girl+guy in generic environment, and everything else just comes out as a mess (and honestly even the '+guy' part is pushing it).

I mean, outside of the Japanese RPGM games, porn games with good art don't exactly grow on trees. Most games are using default/poorly edited 3D models that all look alike. I consider most 3DCG games (other than outliers like Eternum that put in actual effort) to be even more "soulless" than AI gen'd stuff. And before AI generated stuff, there was media drawn by Japanese/Koreans living off of slave wages. What emotion are they putting into their work? Despair?

Also, AI art is generated from material found on the internet. It's not produced from scratch. And that technology? It's only going to get better, never worse. It's a matter of when, not if. You can hate it as much as you want, but .

Some of the details might get better but it's inescapably a way for uncreative people to cheaply copy things that already exist. The fundamental jank that stems from them being soulless copies will never go away; there will never be innovation in them and they'll never be memorable experiences because they're the Funko Pops of drawing and writing.

I like how you just made up and responded to arguments I wasn't making. It's not that AI art is 'souless' or 'emotionless' (I mean, that's all true, but it's not what I'm talking about at the moment). If someone wants to make a porn game where an old woman and a schoolteacher fuck three big black guys, a demon, and a dog in a Russian gulag, they can't use AI art to make that game, because it's not good enough at generating unique images to make that image without it coming out as an ugly blob (and even if it was, the type of person using AI is generally too lazy to put the effort in to tune the AI to output something exactly right. If they weren't, they wouldn't be using AI in the first place).

Sure game creators might be reusing stock 3D assets, but they can combine them and pose them to make whatever scene they want. That's what me and the person I was originally responding to were talking about. Games that use AI are boring and uncreative because the technology is so limited that the art can only show boring and uncreative scenarios (ie girl+guy in a generic background). It doesn't matter who or how it's being made. People want something interesting to jack off to. Underpaid Japanese artists can draw something interesting to jack off to. 3D models can be posed into something interesting to jack off to. AI can't do that. Hell it can't even make something basic that doesn't make every user on this site go "hey that's obviously AI art." You call me a luddite, but you're basically a caveman with a rock and stick demanding acceptance to NASA.
