Sofia can't really blackmail Daniel and Lana because remember in the first chapter, Sofia told Lana, while Daniel overheard, about her affair with Martha's nephew's friend. Lana does have proof. She has herself and corroborators. Remember Daniel overheard Sofia and Lana's conversation. Lana's friend who stayed with her in Chapter 3, and met up with her at the supermarket in Chapter 5, ALSO saw Martha and Sofia giving blowjobs to the aforementioned two. And remember, Lana and Sofia are friends, so why would Sophia's first move be to blackmail Lana? Why would she assume that Lana wouldn't expose her own affair? I think Daval had plans to include Martha and Sofia starting in Chapter 6, but the "exclusivity" of Lana and Daniel's trysts were more popular than he may have anticipated. If Daval intended to make this a threesome or foursome anytime soon, he would've done it by now. I think Sofia's role in this chapter as well as the chapters since the end of Chapter 6 is to present the "looming threat of exposure." That way, Lana can maintain her demeanor as the openly resistant partner, and Daniel remains the aggressive Lothario who has Lana in which ever ways suit his imagination. The story so far has portrayed Daniel as completely and utterly fixed on his mother, Lana--exampled by his rejection of Sofia's blowjob. And Lana is clearly jealous when Daniel interacts with other women. I can only assume this is the case because that's the compelling feedback Daval is receiving from his subscriber base--i.e. to have the sex remain primarily between Daniel and Lana.
Depending on how far this series goes, it's only a matter of time, however. If Sofia gets involved, I don't see it happening through blackmail. I can see it happening in an almost "honor among thieves" scenario. That is, Lana and Sofia sympathize with each other through the reasons of their respective infidelities, and decide to "share" Daniel. But in my opinion, I don't think Sofia will get involved--at least not soon.

Maybe Daniel can against how to get out of this scenario easily. He already proved more than once that he is very manipulative. If I remember correctly, he wrote a fake e-mail to impersonate his dad's boss so that Alex and Lana wouldn't get old. He also managed to trick Sofia in part 7 by pretending to be her dad. Not to mention that in this new update he apparently tricks Sofia again. I think that's the reason Daniel's character is so likeable: he goes against the grain of the "wimpy" son, whose nose is lead around by his mother. Not only does he exemplify the "Oedipal" fantasy, but he also exemplifies the "male power fantasy," dripping with masculinity, being aggressive, and assuming control of situations with which he and his mother are faced. The ninth chapter is almost over, and it focused entirely on Daniel and Lana, because the formula works.

He's an enjoyable protagonist to read, and mostly he moves the plot along, he doesn't wait for Lana or other characters to do anything, he's the one making all the moves. And he breaks the weak son formula nicely as you mention. Making it interesting to see what he plans to converse to Lana. Plus he has a good charisma and it doesn't take long for you to like him, more so when he doesn't force Lana into anything, being that he lets Lana's own desire be the one to drive her to him. A very good reference to that is when Daniel in bidding the guy who was groping Lana and then asks him if it's okay, the moment is very well worked, as it not only breaks with the clichés, but also demonstrates the immense love of Daniel for Lana, and confirms what he says that he not only wants her for sex, but also loves her, fulfilling the role played by the Oedipus in his personality. Not for nothing does ID top Daval's chart in Subscribestar.
