Maybe you clicked something in the rendering settings?
I’ve never had such a problem before. One problem was when the render was completed, i couldn’t save it, no matter how many times i clicked on the save button, it didn’t happen.
Try killing the process in the manager, reboot your PC, go to Daz and click create a new scene, then load your scene and try to render again.
You're probably right. I did notice recently how some random asset had been clicked to render at subd level 5. I rarely ever change settings but maybe as I drag my mouse over things when I'm half asleep doing stuff. I'll just go thru all the settinga to double check them.

Scene Optimizer helps with this! There's a tab which shows an overview of all SubD meshes and their polycounts. It can also help with texture resolutions.

(Caveat: if you use it to downscale textures the quality is kinda ass, downscale them manually in an image editor if it's a really important texture e.g. skin detail)
