You can play almost any VN using MTL tools like LunaTranslator or Textractor (LunaTranslator predecessor). You basically hook this to the game, tool then searches for strings in memory and translates it in Google\Deepl\Bing\etc in real time.

If you go that route, I recommend Ouju no Shima - recently released VN from CLOCKUP and norizane (the same artist who worked on Dead Days).
Norizane another work, The Restless Sheep & The Lone Wolf, supposed to be released on Steam in English this year.

It's readable and better than nothing, I guess. Google V2 engine is fine but pronouns he\she are usually messed up.
Also, before using the tool, check VNDB "releases" tab for selected game. There's a high probability that popular games will have MTL English patch listed there already.
