If you actually get conscripted for regular service, you get a letter weeks or months in advance. More than enough time to cancel your obligations.

The dev disappeared from the web over night, though. His Patreon and Discord activity is like the steaming pot still on the stove.

PS - also not saying that he IS there, but it is one now-likely explanation besides what's already in previous posts (accident, suicide, prison etc)

I was the one who raised this suspicion because of the Boosty service. And if he hasn't left the country, he could've been forcibly drafted into the army. In that case, this might actually be true.

Someone on Discord explictly noted this about the YT channel info recently, that's why i checked it.

I mean it's at least a possibility, as we previously excluded that (because he has an active Patreon account)

90% chance he's dead IRL
4% chance he's in prison or mental health institution
<1% chance to still show up with an excuse


Because, nobody makes a big announcement for a game release "in 5 days" - after delaying it again and again over half a year, with documented progress - just to entirely disappear from the web for a month in the moment he's about to publish.

People do however very suddenly and unexpectedly die from undiagnosed conditions. Or commit suicide, even if they felt dandy on the day before.


Just think about it - if he was for example in a regular hospital, he would have internet access and had called the thing off. Same would go for any other possible explanation.

Jokes apart, Russia's military capaign started on april 1st end ends on July 15th or so. If you get the convocation letter from the Army you have 1 to 3 weeks to go make the medical examination and then get recruited eventually.

Now, to me it seems you guys are just giving him a solid excuse if he returns at some point

Since the last post on his Patreon about the 0.4.0 update release, he hasn't dropped a single word anywhere, not even in his Discord, so this military theory is getting scarily plausible. With us from f95 he has no obligation whatsoever to explain himself, but ghosting his patrons... shit may be serious.
