But when i'm at Mary there isn't a talk option or something that triggers a conversation about a locket

So, gamers, don't give a save file to your community, especially since I doubt the gap between versions has anything to do with the story's progression. It's becoming a habit for developers to break their scripts to "force" you to buy the "sequel," and you're playing into their "schemes."
Personally, I followed up to v0.4.3, and then, STOP!
Really, not interesting enough to start from the beginning.

Hi all. Been playing this game and quiet enjoying it. However, I'm now at a point where I can't beat any of the beasties/ zombies / bugs, who all suddently seem to have HP / life of 50 up to 78 . I on the other hand can't seem to get my HP above 23, Any help on how to increase health / Hp much appreciated.
Particualarly annoying as I cant save Bang as the two raiders are too strong

Bro first upgrade your weapon and armour from the craft table which will be bought by those one eyed patch girl group and you can heal by drinking cola or can also use grenades if you have then in your backpack at the time of fight so use those when needed and also loot the boxes after killing dont continue that . you can also partner with other you find and put in your camp whenever you save them , try these

thnks but i really donot fell like the game give you any thing when you level up even after using the point to upgrade body also is hp upgradeable without armors
