RPGM - Defenestration [v0.5c] [Fresh Mulan]

One of the best games on this site.
Art is beautiful, story is interesting, Corruption is well done and there are lots of choices to make to invididualize your game experience.
If there's one bad thing about this game it would be the wait time between updates.

I promised a review and here it is.

This is definitely a good game, and I would recommend it to you particularly after the latest patch which has most of the old content pre-rework added back into the game, and new content in the form of a gym side-quest.

A lot of effort has gone into making the game more vibrant and lifelike, and it comes across in the artwork, although there are still places where depictions of character movement are very choppy, but this seems like something that can be improved over time, if it is not a stylistic choice.

Now is a particularly good time to follow this game, particularly now that the rework phrase seems to be over or cooling down, and work on advancing the plot is seeming to take its place as priority.

In the end, well done Fresh Mulan. You copped a beating for it, but ended up with what is, in my own opinion, a better game for it.

Gotta say this could be my favorite game.
-It's fun. Relatively, no time wasting dialogs or quest(except for couple of short hypnotize scenes in the beginning), no walking around for hours. Characters are great. And it's actually funny sometimes.
-A little grinding. It's quite negligible.
-Smooth gameplay. There is no combat or stat system and I hope never will.
-Choices matter, it's a little more than have sex or not. But the downside is sometimes it's not clear what will be consequences. A little more clarity on that part would be great.
-The art style is alright. It's not bad but could be better, both in quality and quantity.
-I love the themes it has, especially tattoos were a nice touch, don't see that often.
-Writing is good enough. Scenes are great but it's heavily towards hypnotizing so there are like backs and forth regarding emotions for our character, repeating sentences, that sort of thing. Just giving heads up.
So, it's a great game. I can't wait for more content.

It's always a pleasure for me to play games like this. A unique concept, artwork that may not be to everyone's taste (I enjoy the new artwork), arguably one of the best bimbofication storylines written for an Adult game. Witty and intelligent. -The only reason it's not five stars is due to the excessive amount of bugs currently, but I'm excited for this game and its future. -With love comrades, The Taffy Tales Team.

Outstanding art, interesting characters, fairly novel setting, decent writing, enjoyable humor. Had performance issues and bugs before (as can be expected from a beta), but the content it currently features is a taste of greatness and blows a lot of the competition out of the water. Follow this if you can be patient! The updates are released fairly slowly.

Game is truly perfect, but no frequent updates and continuous delays of deadlines are only flaws of this game. Might I add a couple of suggestions. First Kira needs to have a bit of back story that is revealed to us by regaining her memory, second Kira`s story need to have an ending or multiple ones for example Breeding Bitch, Hero, Doll, KGB agent and so on... And my lust suggestion is that it would be nice if Kira could go to other parts of Moscow and that world in general.

If we turn our face away from some spelling mistakes (rare but present), it's close to being a flawless game. Let's see how it stands against the test of time, since drawing, coloring and enduring several layers of fatigue and frustration may prove challenging in games like these - do we have a new big hit in hands, or will it be ?

Wow... just wow Writing is simple, but on the other hand sooo hot Very nice art, beautiful MC, cool events, NO BATTLES, and nice atmosphere makes this game worth playing. I'll definetely support dev on Patreon.

Great game. It's a little bit hard to start and sometimes you can get stuck without ability to find any tips what to do next.

There's a lot of content in the game so far and great art and story, mostly focused on corruption.

I like how some of your choices can influence a lot of dialogue and art later

Nice art and story, but you gotta grind grind grind grind. It was unfortunate that you couldn't skip some dialogue of the guy continually hypnotizing you with very little change to the dialogue. I will check it out once it is completed.

Definetly a great game for me. Even if the writing is kinda simplistic and could be done way better, pretty much every other aspects of this game are on point: The city feels immersive, the drawing are greats, the MC is appealing and the progression is straightforward.

There is also nothing crazy or too ambitious about this game, wich means we can be pretty sure to see new content added fraily easily and regularly

PLOT: Set in a fictionalized, futuristic version of the Soviet Union, and complemented by a strong overarching storyline revolving around subtle brainwashing and corruption, this game is definitely unique when it comes to the plot. Really stands out amidst a sea of generic fantasy and standard modern settings for adult games.

ART: The artwork is generally excellent quality, especially for the sex scenes! However, character busts are sometimes subpar (or nonexistent, and filled in by hazy TV static character outlines), and the map assets are generic RPG Maker rubbish that don't stand out in any way and get quite boring to look at.

WRITING: Writing is easily the weakest part of this game. Generally speaking, it's not good. Grammar, capitalisations, punctuation, prose, etc., are all lacking. It is also highly inconsistent. Blocks of text get spammed at you one moment, and in the next you're getting lazy lines of description. This occurs everywhere, from dialogue, to quest descriptions, to scene descriptions. English is almost certainly not the creator's first language so that warrants some factoring-in. But that's no excuse for the serious undertones being punctured by ridiculous humour that makes you wonder if the writer has actually decided on a direction yet.

GAMEPLAY: Given the setting and the story, the gameplay elements chosen are great: zero combat, and mainly focused around exploration, talking, and clue-finding. I really like this new style of gameplay for RPG Maker games that eliminates the needless grind that most people hate.

SOUND: Mostly the standard RPG Maker music set, interspersed with some interesting sounds here and there. Could be vastly improved with its own unique music set, especially given the interesting potential of the setting.

Overall, I'd give this game a 6/10. The plot stands out as one of the best and most unique in the adult games scene right now. However, the actual writing complementing it is very weak. Artwork is usually solid, but in-game assets are generic RPG Maker crap. The lack of grind lends points in the game's favour, but the maps are large with very little guidance or structure (which isn't necessarily bad, given that its an exploration-type game). Has a lot of potential, but not very polished yet, and a lack of good writing is a hindrance.

The MC looks great, and the writing is quiet funny, especially the prison escape part. The prmise is very interesting and the story is enganging. Over all this is a great game. Just wish there are more H scenes.

I don't typically write reviews on this site, but I wanted to make an exception for this game. If you are into mind control where the MC does not realize what is happening, this is PERFECT. The pacing is excellent, and the MC slowly sinks into depravity without realizing what is happening.

In general, this game delivers somewhat variety within the trist setting, for example (mostly oversexualized) clothing, the process of body expansion, quest ideas...
Although the communism/revolution frame has potential for unique forms of erotism, it isn't really executed accordingly.

Here are the problems:
In the beginning, the underlying seriousness makes everything tense for future plots, but due to a huge introduction of humor, this aspect is gone.
In addition, the writers are often inable to simplify their thoughts, so it's not unusual you're confronted with walls of texts. While the sentences make sense in regards of logic and consequence, the speech is often repetitive or unnatural and all the little humor change it to bearable at best, just not really fun.
Hence, you could catch yourself skipping through conversations as you try to see some keywords to still follow what's going on.
On top of that, you can sometimes choose around 3 options in which style you like to progress, however, one of it (a violent one) bugged me the game or at least confused me to such an extent that I don't know what's the story now considering the quest log isn't always helpful.
Most importantly, the sexual steps are blunt and straightforward - a contrast to the introduced, almost mysterious world that makes a player explore its possibilities, but leaves you with rushed or ignored corruption processes and, ultimately, an empty protagonist.

"Defenestration" is neither sophisticated nor fulfilling, but at least it took on an own ambience besides all the medieval-type of RPGMaker games which is interesting in itself.

Surprisingly well-written and engaging, with (mostly) very good art and a fair degree of story interactivity! The corruption mechanics are especially engaging, and the emphasis on the character receiving slutty tattoos is very cool Lots of content already, and the developer seems to put out new and substantial releases pretty frequently!

I am a straight female and I have put 7 hoursssss into this fucking game haha. I don't know how I found it but it is soooooo enjoyable. I love it so much. I really hope I get a chance to bang Tolstoy because he is so sexy and it's hard to resist a gopnik in a tracksuit. Sex aside this game is sooooo good! I love the hidden references and the beastie boys 8-bit sabotage was great also. Ugh this game is so perfect for me haha.

Thoroughly enjoyable game, especially if you are looking for mind control/corruption and a female protaganist. It is well written and although there are a few typos this does not detract from the overall experience. The renders are good and get better the further through the game you explore. All in all a good 3-4 hours of fun content. Can't wait for the next few "visits" to New You. A big thank you to Fresh Mulan.

One of the few games i really want to be finished as quick as possible. I have played it for 7 hours now and i love the brainwashing setting in this game. That alone is not specials of course but together with the really good Art Style and really funny character design i actually read the text and follow the story which makes the new cg even better. I hope they finish this quick because the only downside of this game is that its not finished yet which is annoying

I believe I've just finished all the content for this update, except the 2nd BE event in Hospital, if anyone can let me know what it is, that'll be great.

The game's pretty nice so far with the replay value offered by the multiple routes! For the underground travel system, was it inspired from Vampire The Masquerade Bloodline? I know it must have existed in other game as well, but that's the first instance that I've seen it. And, thank you again for the wonderful game, I'm eagerly looking forward to future game content and will support its development on Patreon.

Also, so far, I also went the route where Kira abstinentes the H-events as much as possible, never met up with the hypnotherapist until "New You", and the lust stays at 3 and goes down to 2 after the fisherman. I started the "New You" with the jammer in my inventory and it doesn't seem to stop Kira from submitting to the procedures, I think I just got less pink texts, which I get, it is because it's still in development.

2019/05 edit: Holy crap, they ruined her face because Patreon votes willed it. Screw me, this is the worst major protagonist rework that I've seen. Spectacular. Changed the rating to average because the change made me realize how good MC's design was and they dealt away with it.
