Well, dev gave life signals in his discord last week, but it seems he's busy with school stuff or something, but at least he said it's still working on the game, better than nothing I guess

One more thing to talk about, I've been trying to decide the direction I want to take the game in

Sometimes ideas come from looking at examples. There's more RenPy games on f95 that can serve as example, like...
Original (not based on game, LN, anime etc) - Corrupted Kingdom, Champion of Realms
Based on LN/anime, has RPG elements (characters have stats, levels, skills, equipment) - Adventurer Trainer

Some of the animations have a lot of artifacts, it's quite jarring.
I think you should tone down the compression for the animations.
I know other games use the .webm format rather than .avi

Yeah early animations are kinda bad, I fixed it tho, the more recent ones are way better

Used UAGC to change PNG images to WEBP (quality 100), didn't compress sounds and videos. Result is on screenshot.


As for videos... They do have artifacts + can look slowed down (like Barbara in prologue). Tried editing videos, changing speed to x2 makes animation better imo, but that doesn't apply to all videos - need to check and change each manually. But this game belongs to dev, so not gonna do things without permission. Nor have any idea if RenPy can get bugs because of such editing.

Ah, Lemme try and get out a hotfix for that, I believe I know the reason

v0.5.1 with fixes, no need for patch now just use new version.
Fixed menu music being weird and Sucrose event kicking out to main menu
