So if I was a game dev and wanted to make more money, Instead of repeatedly threatening to stop developing the game if I didnt get more support, I would take a close honest look at how my game and patreon development style was different from games and devs that are making the kind of money I would want to make and then in every way possible I would try and be more like a game dev that was making the kind of money I would like to make.
In the last update he finally did a bj scene from one of his sisters but it was so jank. The girls jawline looked so unatural and strange when she had the mc's cock in her mouth. This just felt lazy to me. Like he couldnt get it to look the way it should and then just gave up and said oh well thats good enough and put out sub par images and animations and then gets upset that people bail on the project.
This dev obviously has some talent, but he has been at this for 4 years and the story has not progressed in any meaningful way with any of the family LI's that people are really interested in. It seems like he is deliberately drawing this project out and cucking his supporters by regularly releasing a small amount of content that no one wants (while repeatedly just slightly teasing the family which is what most people want to see develop) and then getting mad when most of his supporters simply bail on the project financially.
In some ways I suppose he is following a formula that has made more than a couple of devs a decent amount of money, by drawing this out and putting in minimal work and story progression but all the devs I have seen make real money doing this have been in this marketplace for far longer than 4 years. I ultimately think that threatening to abandon the game is just a poor way to try and motivate people to donate more money to the project.
Personally I don't mind the development decisions. It's a slow burn type and I'm fine with it. I am more interested in the attitude of the dev than anything else.
In my opinion, any dev working on a VN needs/asks for support from people that like their project and want to see it continued and finished. People give money because they like it and NOT BECAUSE they are buying updates otherwise what sense would it make to get a few minutes worth of gameplay for 60$/€/£?
This dev puts people off helping by setting up these tiers with 'get updates WEEKS before if you give me more money' and setting up traps to find out if someone leaked the game.
If patreon worked like an online store then sure protect your product but devs are not asking 'buy my thing' they are asking 'support me because you like the thing that I am creating' and this dev doesn't understand this concept.
So where are new subscribers supposed to come from? Are there TV ads somewhere? Maybe he's putting out some weekly pamphlets? No, it's people in this forum that at some point decide to HELP OUT the project (not buy updates!!).
The constant aggro stance against potential helpers is imo what turned people away from subscribing and what will ultimately kill this game.
So in the future,
- separate tiers by a day (or none at all, who cares)
- leak your own game to have people play it and enjoy it and feel like they wanna help
- engage with the community where they are (here and other forums) and not just with your subscribers on a discord server
- be kind and understanding (you have to because 'these' weirdo wankers in here can get really crazy when they are in heat

)
- and yes, please your audience by giving them a bone now and then and keep the milking in check
Do these things and see your base steadily rise like a smelly fart aiming for the heavens!
PS: I subscribe to several games/devs and all of them I could get for free here.
