Your question is not clear.

Every update is a full game, including all the previous content as well as the new. If you want to play from the start, you can.

If you want to use the preloaded save in #50 to open the gallery for previous content and play only new, you can. Any scenes which are available to replay within game (such as movie nights with Leslie) are also available. Just as they have been for quite a few updates.

What I mean is, if they added a new event that takes place 10 minutes into the game, but I load my safe 5 hours into the game, I would miss it since I progressed much further.

So I am asking if the game is only going forward or if there are scenes added to earlier parts of the game that require a new game from the start in order to see them.

You will not miss the event. Any events added into the game are NEW content that have variables that toggle whether you have played it or not. If the variable shows you haven't played it, it will be available to you --- no matter where you are in gameplay. Again, it's the way it's been done for many updates.

This game is more sandbox-y than a Virtual Novel.

It's referring directly to the quest in the journal, not a "quest" in terms of adding content. Like it mentions, it's to direct the player to her, to let them know she's there.
The only things we've changed so far that you'd "miss" by loading an older or included save are very minor things.
I suppose one bigger thing that was changed earlier on, is how MC got arrested, that was modified a lot. But so far we've done no such thing as add new content in the way you describe, as what is created is done in order.
I can't say if we'll ever change that later, should we decide to change or add some beats to tie things together in a better manner or what have you.

Honestly i respect the guy becouse unlike other developores who shan't be named he Actually delievers and has actual reason if he has a delay or a problem and has the rarest talent which is he Actually listens to the fans payers or not so if he reads this 'please don't become like the other lazybums who just drain peaple for a 3 minute update every whenever'

Progress Log - 2024/11/03

Working through the internal testing phase! Have fixed a good number of bugs reported back from the first Alpha, will be finishing those up and working on art/story notes after that. Plan is to have second Alpha to the team early this week, another round of tests, then the final Alpha this coming weekend to be packaged for the Beta on Wednesday the 13th!

Got a stream tomorrow, EU-friendly, on Discord. With the Title being Family Date Nights it's appropriate that this stream-theme is anniversary/date night doodles haha
