How much of a grindfest is the Sandbox?

Yup, I get what the dev was going for with the MC getting his shit rocked but the first bits of humiliation were probably enough. Him getting beat half to death without even an ok attempt at fighting back made him look too much like a bitch.
I assumed the boss was never gonna be a love interest tbh, the best friend thing was bad enough(the fact that he didn't show up means he is probably dead anyway) but even with the reformed system in the game, she would be a shitty LI.
