VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Depraved Awakening [v1.0] [PhillyGames]

Great Game, this is my second time playing the game and this is one of the best I played, Its in my top 10 for sure. Great ambient and music, great and pretty real hot models and last but not least an amazing story.
Well Done.

Fantastic models with good plotting. I like the character model for christina in particular with her implementation. The other thing is that I ended up enjoying playiung the good guy because the plot made me care about the characters. I'm a little sad i'm not gonna get to see more, what with it beying finished .

Review of completed version

I've given out several 5 star reviews to a handful of really excellent games recently. They were not, however, in the same league as this one. Depraved Awakening is, I think, the best porn game I've ever played and I've played a great many over many years.

I'll begin by praising the story. It's interesting, tense, and filled with drama. It's a little hard to imagine enjoying a great sex scene one moment and then suddenly having an icy feeling a dread overcome you because you realize certain nefarious and dangerous actors in the story were working against you at that very moment and that people you care about are in danger. Despite plenty of slightly outlandish scenarios, they all fit together to feel quite real. I cared about the characters and feared for their safety.

The porn is, well, quite excellent. There is some romance but it really does provide you with good sex scenes from start to finish. Usually I prefer what I call a slow burn, with a lot of anticipation and romance/seduction. But DA successfully does the opposite far better than any other game I've played. The sense of passion is produced not through a great deal of dialogue, but by the situation into which these characters are thrust.

The protagonist is an experienced adult male, which is by far my strongest preference. The female NPCs are mostly gorgeous with a nice variety of model designs (though generally busty, which is fine with me) and excellent renders. The personalities are just as varied and well fleshed out. I cared deeply for several of them despite some not being archetypes I'd usually be that attracted to. (I didn't think I was going to like Christina at all at first, but I really, really did by the end.) This is definitely a feat of quality writing. I also very, very much liked being able to choose how my three favorites referred to me during dialogues (usually but not exclusively during sex) and my choice actually had some dialogue written specifically for it. So excellent! Furthermore there was a very strong sense of agency. Not only is there a vast number of choices to make in the game but they cause significantly different outcomes.

The sheer amount of sexual content is mind boggling. I kept thinking the story was going to completely take over, but the sex just never stops. It was wonderful. As much as I was in love with the game, when I got to the end I confess I was slightly disappointed I didn't get exactly what I wanted
I will note just a couple negatives. It is a visual novel through and through. This is a plus for many, but I like getting as much content as is possible in a single playthrough because I do not at all enjoy playing games over and over again making small changes to hopefully get a different outcome that the author may or may not have even created. I would not have enjoyed this game as much had I not made some use of both a walkthrough and the console. I'd prefer that weren't necessary.

The only other con is that the animations were a little clunky. Note that this is compared to an ideal rather than the game's contemporaries. In comparison to them, it was better than most.

While not necessarily a con, I should note that there is some dark material in the game, although you can avoid some of it through your decisions.

I want to genuinely thank PhillyGames for such a refreshing and wonderful experience. I so very much hope to see more content from you (hopefully also with male protagonists ).

The story is breathtaking. Its like a very good movie, a film noir.

I love the long game and the twists in the story. The renders are excellent. The game is made with much love. Also the models are all great.

One of the best first games delivered by a new VN developer. Unique noir theme, awesome soundtrack and gripping gameplay. Given the superb render quality and detail to the storyline, it is hard to believe that this is the first VN from Philly Games. Hope there's more to come from him.

Completed: In this market of unfinished games, that's worth at least 3 stars.
Plot: Actually has one and beyond the usual porn story at that. A good stab at the noir genre in its character, story elements, and tone. Up to 4 stars.
Renders: In the above average category. Hence the five stars.

I never give 5 Stars, but this one deserves it!

My honest review, first time i played...

The first 10 min, was very boring, maybe because im not a big fan of Thrillers, but the story of this game is absolut fantastic and got hooked by it. The renders are one of the best out there. The animations they evolved along the updates, if you check on the gallery, the first scenes compared to the last ones got a big boost on render and animation quality. And finally... the fucking soundtrack, you nail it. The soundtrack just takes this game to another level creating those tense, sad, love and suspense moments!

A noir story, you're a detective, and yes there is porn but the excellent writing sells this to me.

One of those situations were you can say "came for the boobs stayed for the plot" And admirable exemple of what a novel should be.

One of my favorite games here. Excellent story, awesome character development and amazing plot twists that you wont see coming. Definitely worth playing multiple times just too see all the possible outcomes of your choices. Sure, a lot of games here have the same option but very rarely do i play trough the game more than once. This one got me chained to my chair with a happy boner in my pants. Play it and support the creator on Patreon if you are able. 10/10 will fap again.

This game is a master piece. High Quality renders, story, pace, girls, porn scenes... its even worth some award in my opinion. Really amazing and outstanding.

Best atmoshphere created in a VN so far. And the hottest sex scenes mixed with a story full of crime, perversion and lots of hot fetishes, delivered with such exquisite taste. I bet there will be a before and after this game for VNs.

Got to say the best game on the site that has been completed so far. I am apalled that you have less than 3k funding on your patreon for this level of writing, story, visuals and animation. May your next work bring in even more money for you. (after you take a break and bask in finishing one of the best done adult games around this decade)

I've said it before from the top to the finish this game has been compelling in every aspect, and that's not an easy thing to do. A lot of games I've played (Not Naming Them) started off strong, had good good content towards the middle but fizzled out towards the end. Depraved Awakening wasn't like that for me. A+ Renders A+ Storyline

What more could you ask for? A sequel perhaps?...

High quality renders, good writing and pretty interactive and fun sexy times. It's just not for me I guess.

I felt like the story was overbearing and I constantly felt rushed along from one event to the next. It also got a little dark in places, and not in the good "yeah, take this, you dirty whore" way, more in the "oh, one of the girls I was into just got shot through the neck with a machine gun and died, okay" way.

Also apparently I picked the wrong waifu because I guess Christina was only a side character, since you can't really pick her at the end or maybe I did something wrong, it's hard to tell with this many stats and hidden stats and hidden scenes. I feel like an asshole for complaining about choices and content, but when I have to read walkthroughs to figure out shit you kind of lost me.

At multiple points throughout the game the MC said stuff I didn't want him to say regarding Christina in the vain of "fuck her, we can't trust this bitch", idk if that's because I was missing some points or that's just how it's supposed to be but it took me out of the story.

Nice music, lots of images and renders in really high quality, lots of sex scenes, nice story (feels like LA Noire), clearly developed characters, and none of those bs options that say you cant choose this option because it does nothing.

Although I loved every single thing about this game from the story to the animation and the character developpement ... It got me through various emotion from excitment, joy, laughter, to sadness and tears ... DAT END THOOOO :'( speaking to the picture of STELLA got me right in the feelz >.< :'(

One of the best games on this site. Great story, animation and characters. A fully finished game and experience with many different paths and several endings and new scenes to discover even after two playthroughs. Very refreshing that it was finished when it was supposed to rather than milked and delayed as it sometimes seems other games are.

I really appreciate that you managed to put an interesting and coherent story with no lenghts. Starting a story is nowadays a common task. Kinda one of the first eroge games I played and definitely one of the best. It has great storyline, good arts and characters and the main guy does have some cool aura cuz I love him so much! I have the ending where he died first and oh Lord I cried. The happy ending is so damn good with all the extra contents and things. Can't wait to see the developer's next game

Gameplay is very nice, good characters, choices can lead to different scenes or/and conversation with someone which make you think what to choose. enough porn scenes to entertain you if that's what you want, but there is a story behind this and I strongly advise you to follow it if you want the whole experience.

In my opinion, this game is worth it and should be in the popular section list

Drama, suspense, decisions that influence the game outcomes, a lot of erotic content, good story telling.

Such a good game. graphics are top notch. Hardly any place to fault the game.

I love all the females in the game so much, it's hard to pick just one.
