.... ok.... first off this game is freaking awesome as hell, and its not even 1.0. Damn.
secondly, this is one of the very few ero-games that I've run across where I'm sitting here tumbling a choice around in my brain (the hive girl one) at a level even mass effect didn't provoke. ........ gahhhhhh

In Mass Effect, did you side or destroy the queen?

Oh sided with of course. But in a lot of ways that was easier, 'cause I just generally take the path that maximizes my future options and content. (I mean, not that it really made a difference but.. anyway). This though.. both paths promise funzies and stories ahead, and totally different sorts.. *sigh*

And I just got to Julia and right in the bloody feels. This is going to be a long few days isn't it...

I don't have any insecurities that I have to get past. I make no judgements on those who activate the content.
Usually, if a Dev dares to introduce this kink into a harem game hell breaks loose and there are people who judge, severely, like it also happened in this thread, and you appear to be none of them.
I just don't fancy sharing my toys.
I do respect your position and get where you come from. I wasn't advocating that every Zaton has to share, but rather open the eyes of some people to the possibility that if he does, it doesn't mean he is a cuck.
My in-game MC is a violent, brutish, arrogant, grapey motherfucker
You forgot to add stingy. ;)

Sharing challenges matters of self-confidence, self-respect and respect with(from?in?of?) your social circle and i believe, dependent on the setting, it can boost or damage those aspects.

In olden times the reputation of a chieftain and the loyalty of his henchmen was often derived not only from his battle prowess and wisdom, but also of his display of generosity. It was expected from him to hand out gifts and to share parts of the loot, be it money, merchandise or captured women. If he failed to acknowledge bravery in battle or the commitment they showed towards him, he could be in trouble soon. Handing out copper coins wouldn't do the trick, but a nice sword, a chainmail or a golden torque (neck band) certainly did.
There is also the widespread tradition of interchanging gifts between guests and host, between partners in commerce and friends. Naturally these gifts need to be valuable to make a positive impact on the relations, being perceived as cheap will rather damage them.

Since women in Desert Stalker are just a little above an ordinary commodity it feels natural to delegate for instance Emilia to please Igor on his visit. It's a sign of Zatons appreciation of their friendship. Double that if he actually assigns Ain to the task, because she is far more valuable than a slave girl. And of course instead loosing Igors respect by doing this, he will certainly gain reputation by displaying such generosity.
Zaton also obviously needs to be a real confident badass to nonchalantly hand out his daughter (temporarily). Like i already said, i consider it a 'power move', a display of his strength and dominance.

Well, it looks like yourZaton doesn't care about being perceived as generous or worries about his reputation and that's pretty confident too. Just taking what you want without regrets is of course the opposite of insecurity.
This rather referred to those people which break out in cold sweat by the mere thought of sharing and are very vocal about their distaste.
I am just happy that the devs give us options. You can tell it is a good game when two players like us, with diametrically opposed opinions on the matter, can equally enjoy the experience.
Double thumbs up for this, i just wish more people had your mindset. Options which aren't shoehorned in to appease a certain demographic, but rather evolve naturally out of the narration lead always to a better game.

To conclude i'd like to remind people there is a difference of what one would do or enjoys in real life and the actions of an ingame character; one doesn't always need to self-insert in every MC.
Just because i destroy a whole home planet with a super star cannon or order the murder of my uncles' pregnant wife, who bears the heir of his title i am supposed to inherit, doesn't mean i fancy those actions in real life.
Cheers, Kellerman!

In ME I knew with certainty that the devs will reward you for sparing the queen and punish you for killing her.
And they did.
sparing her turned out to be the objectively correct decision because of the author's political views.

Desert Stalker dev has very very different views from ME devs though. I dare say that they will receive a stroke induced by apoplectic rage should they be confronted with this game.
As such you can't use the same logic.

Damn damn damn damn I just reached the end of the current content. Noooooo! Ok. Just gotta call out this part of my review. This is the best freaking example of poly, hotwifing, and D/s relationships I've ever seen captured. Not just in ero-games but in any form of media.

The love, occasional jealousy that you work through, and desire for your partner(s) to be happy found in poly. And without pulling punches - no harem 'everything is just peachy tee hee'. But the actual work that goes into it, where you have to make time for your partners, where they each have different needs and, when you tend to over-focus on one relationship, you then have a deep talk w/ the whoever is feeling left out and you work out something with them.. that is based on Their likes, not just trying to do the same thing with everyone, or buying them a chocolate and instant +5 love.

The 'stag' type of relationship where, when you share out your partners, you're empowered rather then pulled down by it - and where there's no point in time where there's a question that your partner won't come back to you the moment you call them back to you. So many perfect moments / reminders of that, both from the partners and the MC, and moments I've run into So many freaking times RL where vanilla folk don't get that, and try to treat is a cuck scenario. 'Hey, how's it feel to be with a Real man!'. 'The F- you say? Ok hon, put your clothes on, we're leaving and that dude right there can explain to his buddies why they're being blue-balled'. And everyone involved (aside from a few douches meant to be douches) totally understands the dynamic and speaks up to it properly, respectfully, without being over the top. I.. I can't even explain how well this game captures these emotions.

And the D/s part. Yea, there's slaves, and non-con, and all that stuff. Not talking about that. Its hot, but not talking about that. The subs actually behave like subs/slaves, not like mind-broken porn (ok, aside from that one girl). They have limits. They are not afraid to tease their Master, to speak their minds - but also fluidly slip right back into protocol every time its appropriate. They are able to actually have 'fun' instead of just crawling on all fours, because actual D/s is Meant to be fun! They are allowed to have limits with others - the scene where the er... 'stepdaughter' is servicing a dude, he tries to get handsy, and she just slaps his hand away - 'Nope! You don't get to be rough, my [whatever role for MC] says I don't have to let people do that'. Just jaw-drop moment. Because yes, freaking yes. And how the subs/slaves help train each other, and how the alpha-sub (its a D/s term, not a call out to the silly 'alpha male' idea) vets potential subs, helps them find roles in the household, and helps them get acclimated.. Just..

Ok, damn, I gotta stop gushing over this game. *eagerly waiting for more* Thank you so much to the devs, soon as my finances rebalance from certain (hopefully) temporary life-events I'm so pledging to this project...

As usual the renders are superbe and this is only a beta, anxious to see the final version
Love the story so far and i can't wait for a climax where all the routes taken will have an impact on the ending

One thing let me perplexed: i was imagining Ivy as a young and shy elf taken away from the refuge of his race who chose to cooperate with other mutants to preserve his kin in the shadows
Now i see that she is several hundred years older than us, carrying out a personal plan and that conflicted with my impressions built so far

It was the only thing i disliked in the update, hope that is just a phase and the progression will clarify all my doubts

Just FYI. There's an actual "review" feature on the board. Just click the star rating you want in the top corner and you could copy/pasta this into a review. The devs seem to like this.

What can I say ? This game is awesome, probably the best in art, and one of the best in graphics and story. Gameplay is good for a VN, but that's all.
I was really surprised with the wife's share content, I was not expecting in the whole game that possibility, but I really enjoyed and I am expected more of this.
The story of Ivy is irrelevant for me, she is not a person of my interest. I'm not sure if I miss some part of the story or what but it's not exiting for me.

Well said! I really liked how both paths felt natural and the player doesn't seem to get punished for chosing either path. In the end I went for non-sharing for my main playthrough, but it was really well done on both sides.

Also: Igor commenting that he could only fuck Ain's ass because Zaton wouldn't like him fucking his daughter's pussy was great too.
