Depends on what you like to be honest. I find them pretty good because they are structured in a way such that the MC is always in control of the situation and sometimes they are carried out as a reminder to the girls that Zaton is superior and they are bound to follow his orders.

Even from the onset, prior to getting into the game itself, the game warns you of the gory bits and even makes it optional to view a lighter version so as to avoid the really dark and disturbing events when they happen....

But, to be fair, in the case of DS, it comes with the territory given the kind of bleak and post-apocalyptic world that the dev was trying to portray within the narrative of the game.
