Why is the 18.2 file about 1/3 smaller then 18.1?

Only some of the reworked scenes that they did not have time to add during 0.17, but nothing new that would have required you to restart, unless you had either the Fairy bug or the Ain basement bug.

I usually only run a single save for this as well, so I have had to restart 3 times I think since 0.17 dropped until now.

I never had any bugs with this game, I guess I´m lucky. I started again in 0.17 because it was recommended by everyone and I wanted to see the new scenes. Otherwise I wouldn´t have done it.
But I will now, I guess.

And this game already had one of the better track records of updates dropping in a timely manner, just a pure win/win situation for everyone, more content but same amount of time between updates.

We´re going to get more content but the same amount of update time? Oh fuck yeah!!

My one wish would be a more inclusive gallery mode, repeatable scenes would be appreciated as well. Pepper is way too hot to not be included in the gallery <3.

Her scenes aren't in the gallery because they are repeatable. You can rewatch her scenes any time without the gallery. It's the same with all the other girls.

go to game/scripts/home.rpy
go to line 415 and change
label visitain
to
label visit_ain

I installed into it’s own directory and started a new game and still got the error

The Dev needs to work on his consistency, an underscore for "Visit_ain" but none for "visitshan1" invites these kinds of errors

its propably because of the walkthrough mod i use. its not updated to 18.2 yet so i guess it overwrites the home.rpy with the old one?

Moral of the story: Don't use outdated mods

So if ya'll are getting an error involving "visit_ain", I'd delete the Desert Stalker directory entirely and then re-extract it from the zip so you don't have any of the files the outdated mod fucked up for you. Frankly I would steer clear of any mods that fuck around with your game files at all. If you need a mod at all, just use URM.

Yes, the game was reworked around v0.16 I believe, and everyone had to restart, it was NOT a gigantic rework, just smaller type stuff, images and animations fixed, redone, cleaned up, and lots of code and backend changes.

Really? That's your logic? Because you'd have to play through every scene to get to the one you want to watch. Whereas, with the gallery you just go to the scene you want without having to play the whole game. For the repeatable scenes you just have to go to that location and replay it and not have to go through the whole game to see it again. Wow!

He's right to ask for a gallery with ALL the scenes... makes no sense to exclude some just because they're repeatable. As it is, you kinda have to use 2 galleries, so to speak... that's not optimal.

Oh also, tangentially: repeatable scenes are stupid... I wish he'd remove those and make them normal ones... u_u

On another note: Do you guys know if the dev's finished all the reworks he was planning or are the still more to come? I'm waiting for all the remakes/reworks to be done before I replay... thanks!
