Company Trip Deserted Island Guide

This is a guide for real mode. First read the information under the i on the bottom row when you are in the cave first, it contains a ton of useful information including guides for the girls and harem. This isn't a full walkthrough, but should give you enough information to help you survive.

1st Phase: Pre-river

Starting out, you have a few objectives.

1. Gather food every day, 3 fruits are ideal, mushrooms work too, 3-5 pieces, treat grass as needing 3 to match 1 of every other food.

2. Find the river in the southern starting area, you need 50+% exploration, and it must be a clear day.

This game has some RNG, especially regarding the weather. I went five days of bad weather, preventing me from discovering the river and thus the rest of the island with constantly increasing girl stress, finally I restarted. This isn't your doing, so don't be afraid of restarting the run in the first few days. In the first three days, I recommend saving and restarting at the end of the day until you get three days of good weather (including cloudy). Also restart if it take you more than five time units to gather three decent (IE not grass) food items, or if you have terrible luck while exploring (taking multiple instances of stamina damage on the same day, multiple stress inducing events for everyone, etc.)

At the end of the explore phase, gobble down all food at night, see above for what amount to aim for. Spend the rest of the night talking to everyone.

You should be able to reach 50+% on the third day. There's sixteen units of daylight/explore time, five or less will be needed for food, one to reach the site. Its 2% per explore action, so 20% for ten units, assuming no bad luck. You have some wiggle room here, but aim for 16% at least. Do not go past the fourth day without hitting 50%, and aim for unlocking the river by the fifth day or earlier. The start of the sixth day or earlier should have the rest of the island besides the western part unlocked.

Your first SV (survival point) for everyone should be in gathering. I recommend the following build early on. 1 point in sturdy for the two girls in white. 1 point in crafting for Azumi (white sleeveless). Three total points in gathering for everyone after that. Sink remaining points in combat until you hit five for everyone. Choose berserker for combat skill unless you get really lucky and get a double axe, then choose dexterous for the wielder. Focus on crafting for Azumi and a balance of transport, sturdy, and gathering, with emphasis on transport and gathering after that. Everything not mentioned is worthless until much later, especially avoid mental on the main character, as it will make less fun times happen when you finally stop focusing on surviving and instead start banging girls.

2nd Phase: Hot Springs

Once the island is unlocked, you will have the beginnings of a game-long problem show up, stress. You will also have wolves attacking you on the 15th and sieging your base on the 30th. If you are going to fail, its highly like as a result of these two things. In order to address those problems you need to know something about each area.

South - Where you start, beach has useful stuff for anti-stress, such as salt made from bottles filled with seawater, wine, and the volleyball. Its all RNG, so it might take a while to get this stuff though. River is for hygiene and refilling water. Its recommended you visit the river to refill water almost every day (besides maybe rainy days or if you get really lucky and find a jerry can).

Southwest - Hot Springs unlocked on clear day at 50+%. Restores stamina, hygiene, and substantially reduces stress for two time units. This is the goal of 2nd phase and its strongly recommended you go after this spot. Also wild grass, if you want that.

Southeast - Food source for most of the game. When you gather ingredients, you'll mostly get fruits here, and they tend to be higher quality. Always aim to get at least three fruits or mushrooms (preferably fruits) every day. There's an underground spring at 50% that increases pregnancy chance but its pointless until late game.

Northeast - Source of mushrooms, and flower garden at 50%. Not much point until much later to go here, probably the most worthless location.

North - When chopping trees here, you always get a log. Once fully explored, you also get a TON of materials when chopping wood. Sacred tree at 50% can be donated to for big boosts to experience, leading to the best place to grind for SV points. Having said that, this is a midgame location for the most part, especially for SV grinding.

Northwest - Source of ruins at 50%, a place where you can get random tools, mostly crap though. Good spot for mining obsidian. Book for special stuff is available at ruins after enough searching.

Typical game day

There's a routine at this point for each day I mostly follow.

Day:

1. Gather food (mostly fruit) from southeast.

2. Travel to southwest to explore, until hot springs is unlocked.

3. Once hot springs is unlocked, travel to beach, look for "driftwood" (actually random crap), if empty bottles 4+, gather sea water at least once, turn into salt at night.

4. At dusk (12 time units passed), travel to river, refill water, then travel to hot springs, soak, then spend last time unit either chopping trees or searching for materials to make a stone axe (and other stone tools, especially spear).

Night:

1. Prepare salt from saltwater, if available.

2. Eat food. If pot is found, cook three items to save a time unit. Use any salt available if stress is high. Don't eat any mushrooms that cause stress.

3. Make stone axe, tool kit, and stone spears if the materials are available. Aim for the shower structure to reduce stress each day.

4. Talk to everyone if affection with everyone is below 200. Talk to individual girls with 200+ affection for stress reduction. Drink wine if available if stress isn't low.

For all days:

Keep immunity and hygiene above 50. Keep stress below 50. Keep food and water above 30 as well, just in case of typhoon.

3rd Phase: Wolves and mid-game

Once you get the wolf attack on the 15th, you should have an idea of whether your run is going to be successful or not. If you fend the wolf off with ease, your stress levels are gone or are going down (AFTER the wolf attack), you are stockpiling beach stuff and have at least stone spears for everyone and a stone axe, then it should simply be a matter of working on crafting levels for Azumi and gathering materials from the north site until you can start building tools and structures in earnest. If you reach day thirty and can handle it without anyone dying, and stress is still under control, you've essentially won. While wolfs do slowly get harder over time during sieges, you can always build a barricade if you are concerned about it. With everyone at combat 5, it shouldn't be a serious issue, especially if you find a double axe.

4th Phase: The End and NG+

This is when you start banging chicks, or save it for NG+. Its probably best to pick one girl for your first run, then go for the ending with that particular girl. If you want to grind SV levels, do it by gathering materials at the north site, then turning them into the tree. The temple on the western side is also good experience, but don't go there until everyone has either double axes or at a minimum bone or upgraded obsidian equipment and is at combat 9 or 10 and sturdy of at least 5. You can get an experience boost during NG+ though, so it might be best to wait. Remember the i on the bottom of the cave screen for a detailed girl walkthrough.

NG+: You've either died or just want the bonuses. Aim to get at least 300 (250?) points so you can carry over SV levels. Everything else is just gravy in comparison, though the xp bonus and lower stress per day are both really nice.

Early Game - Find a river
  • Remember to set the reserve pair to explore.
    • They will explore for each time unit spent outside doing things that give the MC exp. They add 1% exploration rate and gain 1 exp for each time unit.
    • They will always find some random materials when exploring. Time spent exploring does not affect this.
    • They have a 30% chance of finding food when exploring a region that's at least 50% explored. However, due to the way it's coded this can only happen if the first slot in your food items is not empty.
  • I like to search the driftwood at the beach ASAP to get fibers (necessary to craft knives and axes). If you're lucky (or a save scummer), you can get a pot, sports shoes, or plastic tanks.
    • A pot lets you stew 3 items at once. (~1.84% chance to find, unique)
    • Sports shoes give +1% progress when the MC explores. (~1.32% chance to find, unique)
    • Plastic tanks increase max water supply by 100. (~1.84% chance to find, can have up to 10)
  • Search for materials and try to find some branches. You can use them for crafting.
    • The MC gets 20 exp bonus for the first item he personally crafts.
    • Knives are required to eat meat and fish. If you're lucky (or a save scummer) the reserve pair can find stones for you to craft it.
    • Spears can be used to hunt for meat. I find it impossible to do the hunting minigame without level 2 in hunting, so that's what I use my first skill point in.
    • Axes really speed up resource gathering but it's not important in the early game.
  • Each region has a hidden area. The hidden area is revealed when you explore on a sunny day after the exploration rate has reached 50% or more in the region.
    • South has the river. Important for bathing and water replenishment. (The reserve pair will automatically bathe and fetch some water when exploring in the south after this is discovered.)
    • Southwest has the hot spring. Important for bathing, stamina recovery, and stress relief. (Note that it takes 2 time slots to use.)
    • North has the sacred tree. You can offer ingredients or materials found during your current exploration trip for 3 exp each. Everyone in your current exploration group gets the exp.
    • Northwest has the ruins. You can find various tools here, including rare weapons like a double edged axe. Exploring 10 times will give you Taylor's memoirs to unlock crafting special items.
    • Southeast has the underground lake. You can replenish water here. Also makes it much more likely for pregnancy to occur for the next few days.
    • Northeast has the flower garden. Useful only if you like crafting poisons and perfumes.

Mid Game - Explore the island
  • The goal is to explore at least 70% of each region. Unlock the hot spring and sacred tree ASAP.
  • Once you reach 100% exploration of the north, start chopping down trees and offering materials to the sacred tree to get some quick levels.
    • I usually raise hunting/fishing to level 2 on the MC, possibly some crafting, then max out combat.
    • For Akemi, max out crafting then combat.
    • For Yumeno and Shizuha, maybe a few levels in crafting then max out combat.
    • With decent weapons and most/all with max combat level, you can go hunt tigers in the temple. It's entirely possible to do this even before day 15. Crafting levels are to increase the speed in building the raft.
  • Start stocking up on materials and building facilities. IMO, the most important are the animal trap and fishing net. The next most important are the bed and cooking station. Build the raft when you have time.
  • Remember to make use of the hot spring. You'll be using up a lot of stamina resource gathering and crafting all day/night. Bathing in the hot spring restores stamina and hygiene.
Late Game - Raid the temple
  • Start hunting tigers in the temple. The temple is on the western islet that you need a raft to reach. Each tiger fight gives 300 exp.
  • If you can find a floor that allows you a tiger fight and recovery area before a warp, that's where you'll be doing the majority of your leveling.
  • If you have decent weapons and max combat level, you should be able to kill the tigers with them only getting in 3 or 4 attacks.
  • If you are all equipped with double headed axes and have the correct food buff(s), you can kill them without any injuries at all.
  • I haven't delved into the code for this, but I feel that the higher the relationship between characters, the more likely someone is to assist someone else in attacking.
  • Don't be afraid to reset the temple floors. It's the only way you'll open more treasure chests.

By day 30, you should have finished exploring the island and built all the facilities, including the large raft for your escape. You should focus on progressing with the heroines and unlocking scenes before deciding to leave or stay. Although there are many possible endings from escaping, you're locked into an ending if you completed the temple and lowered morality to 1 or less.
