and in-game. None I've tried are English, and some don't have any description. The default is Japanese or Chinese.

Can't seem to find any tab with the Steam logo.
"Model", "Action", "Voice" and "Other" are the only ones that show up.
The import model option works, but that allows you to bring up only one other model (named as "custom model" everytime) besides the main one. Also, they don't show up under the "Model" tab in the above settings window, unlike the last screenshot in the opening post. I tried putting the "content" folder under both the "Desktop Kanojo" folder as well as the Steam workshop folder, but the application doesn't seem to register them unless manually imported (which again, is sadly limited to only one character model at a time).

Could be because I do own the game, but I did make sure I'd exited Steam before off trying the game downloaded from here. Adding a cracked api to the game to see what happens didn't go well, it got rid of the Steam tab.
The last screenshot in the opening is of the Steam Workshop tab. I think you are limited to the two girls, one custom and Irvia. No spawning a load of them like Shimejis.

i'm with the people that can't add the mods in, i tried to put it in my steam folder and the game folder but nothing

To me, it seems like this one has a cuter voice (though I can barely understand anything she says), while the Anime Assistant one speaks in an emotionless and soulless text-to-speech voice, which however I can at least understand, plus the dialogues can be fully customised (though when I tried to make it speak Japanese phrases, the pronunciations were off). That's probably the only pro this has, in my opinion. Oh, and this one allows some limited vertical rotation of the character model, so you can just barely sneak a pantsu peek, whereas Anime Assistant only has horizontal rotation.
Functionality wise, Anime Assistant wins easily, though one thing that bothered me is that I could not trigger the animations in that one just by clicking on the character model (unlike this one) and instead had to go to the menu to select those, which is just a tiny bit inconvenient. Performance wise, Anime Assistant seems to have a much better FPS than this one.
I think Anime Assistant gets my vote.
