Jeeeez, these latest changes to the haunted house just remind me of how much I want a nonhorrifying Cyan x Leslie route. There are several other girlfriends that Cyan can have; why is her best friend the one that always ends with somebody being the rapepuppet of a demon or their soul eaten or enslaved to demonic dogs or parasited by deadly lichen? Ah, well, one of these days... One of these days...

...I do mean "one of these days" sincerely, incidentally. I know a relevant route will be updated someday, if I'm patient. Just like the genie route will someday be touched again.

2. To cave in the mothers skull with a hammer for trying to make her daughter a god damn sex slave. lmao
Well... In all fairness... On just how many routes did Cyan make her mother a sex slave in return :p ? It makes sense that her mom would have a route to even up the balance a bit; she is the one who's supposed to be in control! A pity that she gave the responsibility to someone else, though...

Is there a Mind Map or branching like way of seeing where each part leads and where the current ends are?

Especially Cyan has so many branches now I don't remember which ones I did before and which I haven't...

besides that, it's a great game - keep up the good and devious work :)

You can use the version history to see what was added to what branch.

Though, that is admittedly a pain for people who aren't already intimately familiar with the game... It's easy enough to guess how to get the Cyantaur content (probably?) based on the patchnotes, but trying to figure out how to blackmail your father is probably something you'd never guess if you hadn't already come across it. To say nothing of the various strange cheerleader branches...

Plus, it's pretty hard to distinguish between "paths that have a lot of content" and "Paths that are still essentially introductions" - an update might add only one or two passages to a route, or it might add ten.

It's still fun to play through it blind, but it could be nice to know whether you should expect to read half a story, or just the introduction to a story.

Why is that almost every HTML game includes transformation aspects?
It's a guess, but sugarcube/twine/whatever is the best or easiest current platform that can be used for a text only game.
And it's text only because how many of us are artists? How many high quality random pictures can you find to fit all the scenes you want in the game? And who the hell has enough time to waste on finding the right pictures?

So I think that overall, it's the ease of use that attracts those with ideas, but lacking in materials.

The version history notes link directly to the portion of the story they mention. There *are* some sections that are pretty deep into a branch that I sometimes don't know how to get to without links, - the Cyan 'vidya witch' section is pretty deep into Tandy's branch, and I only figured that out this most recent update - but for the most part you shouldn't worry so much about anything you don't recognize unless you've read what you assume to be all of the passages.

That's a pretty valid complaint honestly, I tried to find rhyme or reason in the notes as to which ones might have more or less content - farther down the notes being less, higher being more - but there isn't any. He does sometimes add some small notes implying there's not much there. When he updated Cyan's trip to the mall a few updates back, he added a jumping-off section for the West wing and mentioned it as such in the notes.

Oh, to be clear, I started following this quite a long time ago; it's not an issue for me, I was just noting a few reasons why someone might still appreciate a map despite the notes.

Though with regards to the notes, I actually prefer to go a couple of passages earlier than is linked to - unless it's at the very start of the path (like how she finally started the porn video paths, for instance), it just feels like the flow is off. It's never really been an issue for me, though... If I can't recall how a path started, that usually means I'd enjoy rereading the character in question's content.

So seems there is no guide eh? might try later then.
Its not really a game that needs a guide, its more like one of those choose your own adventure books. there is no game aspect to this where you win and lose its just really about the story

Am I missing something here, nearly every choice only has one answer that has any content (the others come up with content doesn't exist) and even the paths that I can choose run out after a few pages?

The dev tends to work on a few chunks at a time, and not necessarily on the same character. It's not anything you are doing wrong.

Don't know if the maker of the google doc for the change log is here, but I think it's worth mentioning that the changelog is pretty inadequate for people who might not remember character names (I've played this game a few times and I remember absolutely zero names - I think someone might have been named Jake or Jack... that's about it).
I'd advise stating what choice tree these changes are added to. For instance, let's say you make a change to one of Bob's (yes I made up the character Bob) paths. The first thing you should do is specify the age, gender, and character selection leading to Bob's path (i.e. M 24 Bob instead of just Bob). Then maybe specify the initial choices (you can decide how indepth you want to go with that) or adding short content tags (sort of like the system on this site) to let people know where exactly the new stuff is and whether the added stuff will interest them (i.e. Path: [choice 1], [choice 2] Tags: fantasy, minotaur PC, impregnation for that one minotuar path). This serves as an easy way to specify what's been added to and allows you to avoid entering in a rather unhelpful line like "As a Rakshasa tiefling, Cyan can continue her relationship with Vera." I personally don't remember either of these characters or what that path entails so that statement means literally nothing to me other than "something was changed somewhere."

As a side note, if you decide to do this, you don't need to change each and every note on the changelog. This advice is purely for going forward into later iterations of the game.

Hmmm don't mind a text based game providing it has a decent story here goes see what this has to offer

It has quite a lot of varied content to offer. The only issue is that they are all in different character lines to follow. So, you'll have to look around and find what interests you. From what i've seen, there's a heck of a lot of content in the game, it's just a bit difficult to find any specific thing you're looking for.

A somewhat disappointing update this time (only four character paths updated; of those, I don't particularly like Vidya Witch's latest projects, and Holly's update leads to a pretty short end - meaning I only really liked the somewhat short expansion of Demon Cyan's Adventures in Hell), but...

Well, when you write enough (1.7 million words) that you literally break TWINE, and need to spend half the month restructuring the game to fix it, I guess it can't be helped! Just, couldn't it have happened literally any other month? I was looking forward to Halloween-themed work; it would have meant neat new content for Wilma and Holly, and Halloween is the most interesting thing about Holly.

A shame Cyan's sketch didn't make it into the game, though - it was cute! But, well, I guess when an artist scams the author, that sort of thing doesn't make its way into the game...

On an unrelated note, I do hope that nothing else ends up structured in the way that SIMFITE and Capture are... One of the things I like about Devious World is its simplicity, where there's never any question as to what influences a scene - that is to say, nothing but the choice you made in the last passage. I don't particularly want to wander around in a base, and guess as to whether there's more to be seen if I complete more bounties - I'd prefer that there be a scene describing the hub, and a dedicated scene with the old captures at some point after I come back from a mission, same as all the other branches. Given how much content there is to explore, and how many paths need to be updated, I don't really feel that any other structure would be a good fit for the game.
