Okay so first of all, my real rating for this game is a 9/10, not an 8/10 (4 star)...but we can't have a "four and a half star" rating, so imma stick with 4 stars, more on that later.
So the basic premise of the story is in the titular Cyberpunk city of Dilmur, you play as Noemi (the black hair girl in the first post pic...in case you don't understand) and you fuck up the Mafia's shit in the place your childhood friend are working and got yourself in a debt of 750 thousand dollar, (Now future dollars is, well for reference, a bottle of energy drink is 150, so you decide the buying power) plus it is also established that there is a serial killer out there fucking with the Mafia while a mysterious cop/detective person approach you and offer you odd jobs to work that somehow delay the debt due date...
Now with this setting, I half expected whoring myself out in order to make the dead line is something that will happen,
What is not welcoming is I don't know that, and kinda fall into a trance of working like nine to five in a game, and it become a habit I can't really break out of. (Like in the end of this version [v0.9], I end up making enough to pay the debt anyway...) This is the main reason I originally want to give this game a 9/10: The instruction on that part decisive me and I work my ass off for nothing...yeah it is petty, but instruction unclear, waste a bunch of time.
Despite this, the game is very "adventure-y" you can decide what to do next as long as you have enough action points, and if they are available.
There are so far three "romance" option, you can guess who they are base on the first post pic...one of them is kinda weird, but hey, I won't judge...and in fact I think that is very hot, especially after a certain "event" where he end up pissed with Noemi...
There is no "combat" in it, most of the threat in game are base on your decision, which is welcome for me.
I tends to hate RPGM combat, but that is just my opinion.
Now being a game on this website, how is the "good stuff"?
Well, it is fantastic. At least according to my taste.
I really love the main character and the expression she made when you choose her more "lewd" option. The only problem I have is this game is kind of "one sided" in the moral scale...you can't really become "that lewd".
Like I get it, if you are not lewd enough you won't do the lewd stuff...but even if you get as lewd as possible. The lewd things she did most of the time when you choose the "lewd" option. Is more of a "middle-ground" option in a more "hardcore" game,
I totally understand that this is a creative choice, but remember in the start of this review I say I can't really give a 9/10 base on this review system? So I settle with 8/10, consider that one extra point docked out because of the personal preference (or if you don't really care, than 9/10, pretend the above spoiler text didn't exist)
....but on the flip side, this also speaks of how much I like about this style, since if I don't like it, why do I care about that?
There is one more thing I like to mention is the "plotline" problem...and there is no way to talk about this and be spoiler free, so here it goes:
This end up doesn't concern me that much, since video game logic means you can leave these event untouched and just go on the side quest. Plus I don't expect it to change since the story is set. But I sort of hoping after that last unfinished mission/event. The tone of the story can be a little set back so I can do these side stories.
(If you don't care about the above "docked point" move it here, like either this or the last part thing make me -1 point to this game...but those are all very subjective choice I admit.)
Overall, despite there seems to have more negative then positive in this "review", that is because I really like the setting, the characters, and hope they can be done even better (or let's just be very fucking honest: done according to my personal preference, no review is completely subjective)
You can just assume I only point out the bad part and the rest is fine...yeah this review is long, but this game also long as well, it took me 14 hours to complete till the current version (probably due to me doing the same jobs everyday) despite I force myself to grind for no real reason, it is so far my favorite game in the RPGM genre...if that counts as a genre.
