We had a series of events in 2024...

- Patreon rules got really strict pretty much after epstein scandal, we had to rework almost every scenes in the game to make sure we are complying without a doubt. The rework of the scenes was mostly done in R11 but there was some bits that needed touch up that are coming out with R12.
- At the same time, I was thinking the game has a long way to go in terms of getting new players onboard, it's underperforming for the work that goes into it. That's why there is a lot of rework of the intro to make it more engaging, so now you can see a character naked much earlier in the story (Lily) for 'neuron activation' and also try to make it more dynamic, this is mostly done in R12, even though it's still lacking a sort of trailer that would be also repurposed as the trailer for steam.
- Me moving on to a new country (obviously).

Overall that means, the art requirement for this update were quite insane compared to the usual, and that explains a bit the delay.
In the future, the 'Divimera' name gonna be renamed to something more mainstream to do a soft 'new launch' with a new cover, and some art promotional stuffs which will go hand to hand with a potential steam release.
I would say we are near the end of this rework to try bringing the game to a new audience so it won't remain that way very long, once we are in a better state in terms of attractivity, it's gonna be purely focused on content until the end of the game.

The game is like my baby, so I really don't do it out of spite, I want it to succeed hard, it does delay some of the contents, the rework and creation of lot of stuffs that ultimately don't matter to someone that is already into the game. But they are here to try to bring new players on board, something that the game desperately needs.

Because of the insane requirement on the art and in general the work on Divimera it's not like I can always do something, sometimes I have to wait for some art and it's not mean as an insult to the artists, quite the contrary, deving is you crunching super hard at the beginning of the project to make sure there is no bugs, that all systems are okay, that you have a bank of audio files and mixes that you can use and so on. So you work easily 5x more hours than anyone in the team in first two years, but then the difference with artists, is that ultimately once you have done the insane curve at the beginning, it becomes easier over time and you don't have as much to do. That's just how it goes.

Always been a multiple projects guy and I don't like to stay idle, so we already finished a very short parody game 1-2 hours with another team made of different artists that will came out very soon under Redikal. Fully done, under 6 months. For patrons.
How exact did the project got affected by the change of rules that justifies months of rework?

Please do tell because as far as my memory serves me, your project was mostly compliant with the new community guidelines.

Mind you, I too have my pet projects and I do volunteer work in addition to my job. I don't charge for my pro bono legal services - my choice. I don't care if others charge a fee for their side-projects. I just don't think most individuals on this space provide for clear transparency. I would love to contribute to people that are clearly very talented, and your games is my favorite game on this space. However, I'm always reticent of sponsoring a project in a space with a lot misdeeds.

I know your kind. I know you won't listen. But I'll say it anyways, just to be able to say "I said so" later on.
DON'T RENAME THE GAME. IT'S A BAD IDEA.

Sceyro That's fine, you are free do what you want with your money. At the end of the day, if the game isn't reaching his potential that's because there are things in the game to adjust, that's how I see it. I don't think it's a problem with the people or anything like that. I'm thankful for anyone supporting and I'm not begging for it, this has to come naturally otherwise it feels bad. If you feel like we don't deserve it, then that's fine with me.
As far as complying rules we were borderline on some stuffs and we had to make some adjustments, anything else would have been reckless. I had access to certain info through some inner circle dev discord, I also saw some creators get strike down during this period for all kind of different things, these adjustments were necessary to be in peace, otherwise I wouldn't bother with it.

And Oberoth, I ban anyone that leaks the game and that I can identify, it can be the president of united states, I don't care. I actually banned a moderator from F95zone that leaked the game some years ago, nothing personal. It's just purely out of principle, I don't think it needs an explanation...

@db-bchr-iv
It will change nothing for you but make the game more accessible, ran many data analysis on how good videogames title are elaborated, what are the pattern in videogames for popular titles etc. Divimera wasn't that great really, too opaque, and we have already found much better with the writer, the perfect new name, think of Monkey Island type of stuff, something that feels familiar yet different, that will make it much more approachable. I had a colleague that changed his game name after 2 years, it did nothing bad to the game, and people actually praised the new name.
It's a small thing anyway, 1 hour of work, either it doesn't achieve much, and that's it but we still have a better name for steam for example, or we actually pull it off and it helps quite a bit, there is a long overdue for a proper cover so soon this is gonna be a good time to do it.

Back to lurking, thanks for coming to my ted talk, and happy new year in advance. :coffee:

"Roughly one month to go," (four days ago) so around late January if you take the dev's word for it.
Always better to err on the later side for porn game development though, so I estimate it'll be around mid-February.
Redikal does take his time but does deliver on schedule. He's one of the more consistent long haulers.

"We were borderline on some stuff which I'm not willing to say what.". Okay. Exactly my point. No transparency. You could have proved me wrong but this tendency for obfuscation does not make you trustworthy.

why put something in quotes when you're not even quoting someone? idk how you interpreted any of what he said the way you did.

He was asked what the game was lacking in compliance. He refused to elaborate. What part did you not understand?

Just out of curiosity, I'm not trying to pressure the guy or anything, but what takes up the most time in this kind of game? The art? The programming? The writing? I really don't know.

I reckon art and programming. Writing sure takes time but seeing how good he is at it I don't think that'd be an issue for Redikal.
