So uh, I've been playing this for a bit and I'm curious how you increase the Aether and Abyssal corruption. also how to get Aether Initiate?
To get corruption you bork the relevant girls, but Aether and Abyssal don't have that option yet. You get Aether Initiate by training under Metatron. So uh, I've been playing this for a bit and I'm curious how you increase the Aether and Abyssal corruption. also how to get Aether Initiate?
MoarDakka123 is correct (and very timely, thank you!), but to expand on the Aether question; Metatron's Aether training gives A LOT of Aether corruption, and part 3 gives you a choice to learn the Aether Initiate trait, which in turn unlocks two other trainings (metatron 4, sarah 4) to actually unlock various Aether magic types. It's a little more complex than the other trainings so far.So uh, I've been playing this for a bit and I'm curious how you increase the Aether and Abyssal corruption. also how to get Aether Initiate?
Wait a minute, there are other aether trainings besides the Sarah's one?which in turn unlocks a few other trainings
Metatron's Aether training 4 for three of the sefirot, and Sarah's standalone part 4 for Binah and Chesed.Wait a minute, there are other aether trainings besides the Sarah's one?
I know about Metatron's one and about Sarah's one, but you said there are other trainings. Are they not implemented yet or am I missed them?Metatron's Aether training 4 for three of the sefirot, and Sarah's standalone part 4 for Binah and Chesed.
I said finishing part 3 unlocks a few other trainings (specifically, metatron 4 and sarah 4). Those are the two it unlocks.I know about Metatron's one and about Sarah's one, but you said there are other trainings. Are they not implemented yet or am I missed them?
Ah, ok then. I didn't miss anything.I said finishing part 3 unlocks a few other trainings (specifically, metatron 4 and sarah 4). Those are the two it unlocks.
Yee, sorry for the confusion!Ah, ok then. I didn't miss anything.
I think the core problem is the ease of getting t/a from camp stuff, yeah, or generally from anything that's fully decoupled from story progress - to me it feels a bit like being incentivised to grind my charmander to lvl99 before the first boss in pokemon, or something, not in a grinding sense but in the narrative/immersion sense. I might be in a minority there of course, and even if I'm not, it isn't a simple mechanic to mess around with...No need to apologize, I'm always up for constructive criticism! Thanks for taking the time to go into detail about your thoughts.
The main sources of trust are battles and sparring, and affection from evening hangouts and working out. The idea was that you could get 1-2 scenes a day just by doing normal gameplay (adventuring twice a day), then people started asking for a skip button lol. You definitely aren't supposed to just sit there and chill spamming 'waste time,' that was an unexpected result of adding the button.
If I can ask, do you think that the ease of getting trust/affection from camp stuff is the core problem, or Waste Time letting you skip the battle side of things?
T/A aren't perfect systems, but I'm hesitant to drop them entirely - there's already content hardlocked to progression, but I really wanted the basic character relationship stuff to be linked to spending time together rather than 'okay, you got this far in the plot', which is a system I've never really liked.
It makes sense for discussion of major plot points to be plotlocked, and that happens a bit already - Celica's last scene has some extra lines if you do it after bringing her along for the Severn finale, and there are others planned. Just not sure that the majority of progression should be linked to that.
BlindBigot 's idea might be a feasible compromise, ex. you're capped at 6 T/A until you reach Badon which unlocks 8-12 T/A scenes. I'd have to think about it more, but do you think that would help the immersion? I agree with your overall point - that sitting in camp until Metatron reaches 9001 affection and falls in love with you isn't a good structure - just pondering the best way to improve on that.
Also, thanks for the feedback on the writing! I realize that I have quite a ways to go as a writer, but glad it's mostly enjoyable still. I've definitely eased off on the memes/4th wall stuff significantly after the not-great opening, which I plan to rewrite eventually. But for being the opening of the game... it really doesn't do a good job of conveying the tone or writing of the rest of the game, lol. Curse of being the first part I did when I was very new to this.
Man, I spent years as a mediocre beginner writer desperately trying and failing to get useful feedback on my writing, who knew that making a niche porn game and posting it on a pirate site would lead to me getting the most honest concrit of my time writing?
Totally agree with that middle paragraph though, it's not unlike the Dragonborn, leader of the Thieves Guild, the Mage's College, the Dark Brotherhood, and Slayer of Alduin.... getting shit from the Companions because pup.I think the core problem is the ease of getting t/a from camp stuff, yeah, or generally from anything that's fully decoupled from story progress - to me it feels a bit like being incentivised to grind my charmander to lvl99 before the first boss in pokemon, or something, not in a grinding sense but in the narrative/immersion sense. BlindBigot's idea definitely sounds like a good thing to include as a quick "fix", it's basically free to implement, and allows you to gate relationships such that story scenes written to occur in set places don't need to be written vaguely enough to allow for any stage of relationship to be plausible as its backdrop. E.g. upon reaching the equivalent of LoTR's Bree and sharing a room with someone in the tavern it can feasibly be written to be an awkward situation - whereas if the player might have already declared their everlasting true love marriage harem with the entire party during the first open world section, if they reach the first tavern and the story says "You sit down with your companions, Metatron stands stiffly off to the side away from the group, Sarah looks into her drink blushing and can't meet your eye" etc, it's all going to be a bit jarring if it's been 3 hours since the last hyper-orgy and a full 48 hours since Metatron opened up and learned to love. Speaking as a general example that is. Of course, if the intention is to have all the relationships be quite intimate and/or sexual from very early on, that's not so much of an issue anymore
W/ that said, all these things seem easy to theorycraft improvements for, but when it actually comes to implementing it, I'm sure there are a thousand little things that can crop up when you try to change something. Maybe the game is already mechanically organised in the best way it could be, and your effort is better spent just keeping doing what you're doing
Jesus, you really like living on the edge, don't you?December 23.
As always, I may be off by a day or two.
It's less of a bug than a missing feature. Fixed for 0.17, I needed to get monster art working anyways. Not sure if this is a bug or not, but FemSam's art doesn't show up during sparring even though it uses the same description as her "casual" wear.
Speaking of Sam, GOD I WANT TO FUCK HER SO BAD HOLY SHIT
There are way too many if/else statements there, some wires probably got crossed. I'll look into it.In the beginning when you choose between Sarah and Ashley, in the scene with Ashley, you're having sex with her. After getting home and inviting her to your room you're having sex again. In the morning is she still supposed to ask how it felt taking a succubus' first time?
Grass Spider Style is the martial art Maya uses. Its practitioners are called Grass Spiders. She doesn't have a scene fully explaining that yet, though.Found a really weird bug. When you choose to sex fight Maya in your first meeting with her she's referred to as Aspasia and has all of her dialogue. Though, since Aspasia was who I did that with last, it might be a bug that carries over your last sex fight partner in place of her?
Also, some of her attacks in Maya's regular first meeting fight refer to her as a Grass Spider. I guess that's an enemy that has the same attacks as her, but the dialogue isn't intended for her.
