It's always funny seeing renpy games get character CG and realising my imagination isn't doing wonders.
Anyways, I'm glad this game is seeing success. We don't have enough text based rpg's, and the ones we do have are too slow to update, having more always helps my insatiable hunger :^)

Unfortunately, as zARRR said, he got Thanos'd. Writing two variations of each scene for Sam depending on whether they were male or female was definitely going to be a chore for Crys, one that really wasn't worth it when barely anyone chose male Sam. Plus, there was apparently some headache about people screeching about NTR since Crys had the idea of letting you choose to set MSam up with the succubus you didn't choose... even if it was never added to the game, and would have been a completely optional thing.edit: YO WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SON SAM

Question. I downloaded what I believe to be the recent version of the game from here since my laptop bricked on me(so my steam version is unavailable to me) and I noticed that there are some missing armors. Is that suppose to be like that? I remember there being rune armor and shit.

Tbh some of the early descriptions were kinda ass, but the art has been a blast to get, and a lot more is coming. Somehow I'm actually backlogged on lewd CGs, too many with finished art but scenes unwritten. Yeah, there's just something I love about seeing actual writing in a game. Not to shit on anyone who doesn't focus on it, some of my most fapped stuff is sprite sex with minimal/no plot, but if you have great art AND great writing it just makes the game so much better for me. Succubus Affection for example, weirdly well written and wholesome for 'just' a sprite sex game.
RIP MSam tho. He deserved better. Better planning on my part, specifically.
As others have noted, the public version is 1 update behind. Honestly, I don't like it, I preferred having it just always be free, but I was running out of money (or rather, already had) and this way I actually have the ability to keep working on the game. Not gonna get rich on it, but close enough to livable that I can keep going, and I love working on the game so that's good enough for me.

This is probably a good time to ask as any. Is time going to be a problem at any point? I remember when the city update first came in it was like: "Holy crap, I can't believe it took 228 days for us to reach this place."
Being called out like this was hilarious but it opened a can of worms I'm not sure I wanted.
I rushed this time because I was severely embarrassed and made it in 3 days.
I was planning to chill out and hang out but now I'm being told
can be delayed for only like 2 weeks.
I don't expect this to change the story, but I don't want to hear

Right now, no. If it ever does, I will be EXTREMELY clear when it starts and ends, but you won't ever be screwed by 'oh you had to do this within 17 days of beginning the game'. Time limits are really hard to do right so I don't want to jump into them. The existing time checks are mostly just giving you an idea of how many days it's been ingame, and the Knights stuff is to give some sense of urgency lorewise without forcing the player to actually respect it. Sorry for the confusion.

6/14 Progress Update
Had a lot come up over the last week or two, but I've been plugging away at the next update! Deepwoods finale is well under way, though I definitely underestimated the amount of work it would take to turn it into a proper finale to the first arc.
Also got more music, monsters, and other comms/free use content sorted for this update and some of the stuff I want to d post-finale to encourage revisiting the deepwoods as it heals.
More scenes, atm focusing on Sarah/Aspasia. Almost forgot how much Aspasia actually needed, honestly, and Sarah is in dire need of more meaningful affection scenes as well. Thankfully, both are actually going quite well, which I confess feels pretty damn good after not having much luck with Aspasia previously.
I *could* pull an update together in a few days and release, but frankly I don't think it would live up to the hype, or really respect the decisions people made along the way (how you handled hobs in Expanse, what you told Selendis, how you handled Svyatibor, and what you do with Mara). Already kinda ran into that with the Ina meeting scene, ended up dropping some of my original ideas. Aaaaand I kinda don't want to pull a ME3 here.
So. Since I kinda wanted to do the next update around the end of the month anyways, I'm considering pushing this update's release date back to around then - let's say the 28th-29th - to focus on polishing the forest and expanding Aspasia. Maybe see if I can fit in an extra CG or two; Ashley, Amnelis, and Rosalyn are all in the running. Open to feedback tho.

While it may sound insulting to the developer, I'm going to wait for this to reach completion and for full save to be uploaded, as this looks to be a game that will take several hours to see all the scenes, and I lack the time and patience for that. Looks good from a cursory glance though.
Really enjoyed this game. The narration in this game is arguably the best in this whole site (and I played a lot of vns both jap & en) that it feels like you're not just playing some cheep porn game, but a topnotch DnD story with some great art to back it up.
The class system is very good as well. Thank God it doesn't need me to grind for gears that I'd have to replace them with new ones everytime I go to a new area. Really can't get enough of the customization it provides because there's a LOT of fighting styles to choose from. (Edit: just wanted to mention that the Miasma poison stacking upgrade is fuckin' nuts.)
Still, the only thing that's missing here to make this a top tier game (it already is imo) is just more CGs/arts. I'm already enjoying the narration and love it when I'm using my imagination for the scenes, although the general audience might want some more eye candy to look at.

Aw, thank you! Always feels nice to hear people enjoyed the customization, especially considering how much time it took for me to learn how to do it LMAO. I still remember the first time I played CoC back in... 2014 I think, maybe 2015, and realized an adult game didn't have to be shitty, newgrounds-tier dating sim flavor. You could have actual mechanics, gameplay, builds - a world where sex was just something that happened, because no shit a bunch of horny teenagers are gonna be banging like monkeys.
Of course, 2020 me had no idea how much actual work went into that, but uhhhh lesson learned.
I am working on CGs! Patreon is doing OK enough to afford more, I actually have 5 of them floating around right now (1-2 of which will be in next update, most of the rest in next), and I'll get more started once I finish this update. I definitely agree that there should be more, the catch is just that most of this game's lifespan I've been working on a shoestring budget so I could barely afford character art.
Down the road I'd also like to get more non-lewd CGs, like for Metatron's descent or Amnelis's first healing, but those are ironically even more expensive so they may be a little delayed lol. If I ever start making 50 million a day they'll be the first thing I start working on.
