Shits stupid, credit card companies are just vultures that should be illegal anyway.
Most capitalist institutions should be. They will always devolve into fascist institutions given enough time. Things that need to grow infinity in a finite system will always eventually seek to control and destroy what it cannot control.

I was wondering why I couldn't see those games, thought it was a coincidence.
Every time I see some news about dlsite is some bs like this, it's really a shame and it doesn't seem like it's going to get better soon...

this is why we need crypto but sadly it's not accepted as a payment (when it should for porn related things) . Now you need a foreign friend that wont judge you to buy them for you

Saw this earlier when checking out a new release and found out they do, though via a 3rd party partner and not through dlsite directly. Interesting stuff, though the need to use VPN to look for tags is still fucking annoying

EDIT: Found the page

Tip: While I'm trying out mullvad at the moment, I'm primarily using ProtonVPN with the 2 year subscription at a lower cost than the $107.

There's a 10 device limit with that plan, so if you have a couple of friends you trust with access to your login information, you can split the cost among yourselves and share the account. There's 4 of us so we each paid around $25, which is great considering we'll have the vpn for 2 years.

If you're worried about the 10 device limit, it's not really restricting at all. You can sign into as many devices as you want but only 10 can be actively using the vpn at the same time, so you won't have to sign out of a device every time you go over the limit. Kind of like Netflix.

This is most likely against their ToS but it should be fine as long as you're not going around telling people about it. There's always a possibility that they'll change the way their vpn works to prevent this but that doesn't seem likely.

So the funny thing is : ONLY the tag "petite/loli" specifically is region-blocked. So any products without that tag are unaffected, even if they have stuff like "petite baba", or "age disparity".
As of today, the tag Student is also region-blocked.
And yes, considered how popular authors like to put their characters in the range of highschool age, that hurts even more.

So that mean that every game that involve a school setting won't show up anymore? That stupid.

seems like Academy and Uniform are also blocked too. Kinda funny for Uniform case because a game set in workplace was blocked just because of this despite the tag is mostly used for school setting.

Well, guess I'm investing in a VPN again.

Anyone else have any good VPN recommendations?

This change is really infuriating. Are there any chances they revert this decision? Is this why Fanza became completely region locked? I wonder if they changed tags.

I've been using Mozilla products for a long time, so I figured I might as well use their VPN.
So far, I have no complaints.

all thanks to credit card companies. Fanza region block first while DLsite tried to switch many of its tags to different names, to later remove the credit card method to pay (which is fixed easier by buying point from third party). Now that they return the credit card method back, the tags got region locked just like Fanza.

Things are just getting worse and worse. How can they revert from this? Credit card company too much power so they just suck their dick?

there has to be a way to get japanese developers to convince DLsite what they are doing for their global store will just hurt their sales in the long run. limited options wont mean anything if they refuse to pal after all when games they wanna get cannot be bought, even worse if left unchecked and it bleeds into the japanese side of things.
