We need less bureaucrats, less rules and less taxes. Not more.
WHO the fuck comes up with all these ridiculous, convoluted, slapped on extra rules all the time?

I guess they won't be happy as long as one person in the country still has a job and tries to get ahead.

I would like to thank all the Karens in the world for fucking it up for the rest of us.
That's just the nature of governments. As someone else pointed out in this thread, their ultimate end goal is to regulate, more, more, more, and more.

If you were from Brazil like i am, you'd be seeing this firsthand. Over here, the government is intruding so much into our lives that they've made relationships, no matter how casual, extremely dangerous. We are literally going celibate by force.

I think it's only a matter of time until Brazil starts cracking down on fictional pornography as well, which is 100% allowed (so far).

Anyways, my point is, democracy has always been an illusion. The powers that be always desired complete, total control of everything. They just had to be careful about it because they know the people can fight back if they push it too hard (i.e. the French Revolution). But they will always slowly tighten the leash throughout the decades, until things gets to the point they are now.

I hate to be pessimistic, but it's only gonna get worse from here on. Increasing censorship across all media, attack on piracy, emulation, game preservation (Internet Archive literally got taken down a week ago), the state becoming ever more present in people's lives, increasing wages and taxes, more and more division between people, cancel culture at an all-time high, proxy wars breaking out, political tensions rising across the globe... History repeats itself once again...

when i try to buy from point market the code i get it on the browser page after payment.

i think this email is just some kind of encouragement to keep using point market amazon pay.

as i get similar emails after i use the point market.

i dont do anything , i just delete email and keep using the service as usual.

for me at least point market doesnt wanna work with mastercard i have but when i use visa it works like a charm.
damn if that's the case then i lost the code then, didn't even noticed that they would show the code right after purchase since i used it for the first time. Looks like I'd prefer ForBooks then since they will send you an email for keeping record.

By the way what is the reason Dlsite no longer allows purchase outside japan
You can still make purchases from outside of Japan. It's just much harder to use a credit card. You can get around the issue by using a credit card to buy generic DLsite points, and then making the purchase.

What happened is that DLsite was determined to be violating the credit card payment processor's terms of service, which restrict certain categories of adult content (the categories can be pretty broad and can include any sexual activities that would be illegal in real life and/or live-action porn; they often don't distinguish between drawn and live-action). Japan's regulations on such content tend to be very permissive, while overseas they are not. These restrictions are typically enforced by bots that scrape marketing pages for keywords, which is why this coincided with DLsite renaming many of their tags to vaguer alternatives. Many product pages had to be removed completely.

Basically DLsite is being pressured by foreign interests to bring their content policies more in line with Western companies like Patreon.

Do you think those alternative methods will last, though? And how much damage do you think they'll be doing to hentai gaming in general???

Man, the number #1 reason why i delved into NSFW gaming is to escape from the mess that is the gaming industry right now, especially AAA gaming. Thought i'd be safe here, but now, seems like they're even going for our hentai games too. We just can't have fun things, can we???

I forsee one of the following outcomes with regards to payment methods:
  1. DLsite makes changes to ensure full compliance with overseas credit card policies. Credit cards return as a direct payment method, however DLsite's catalog shrinks and tagging/descriptions become heavily censored.
  2. DLsite takes half-measures to try and strike a balance between compliance and censoring its content. The status quo continues, with DLsite remaining open to overseas customers willing to use alternative payment methods.
  3. DLsite decides to pull out of the overseas market to avoid further impacting its Japanese operations. Access to Westerners is restricted, e.g., by registration or IP bans, similar to DMM, and censorship gradually recedes to previous levels.
I think (1) is most likely. DLsite has made a substantial commitment to courting overseas customers and I don't think they'll just walk away. Becoming fully compliant, however, would erase the breadth and openness towards taboo content that make DLsite and the Japanese market unique.

Adult content was never a safe haven for those who chafe against self-censorship in mainstream gaming. Unlike typical controversies in mainstream gaming, there is legal standing to act against adult content, which tends to not be wholly and unambiguously covered by free speech protections in modern Western societies. Credit card companies are not social justice activists. They are responding to legal and brand risk (especially legal). As long as obscenity laws exist that threaten their operations, they will continue to act to preserve plausible deniability in the event of an incident.

The last part of your comment is especially true... I think i should have seen it coming, since we are living in a time were feminism and censorship in general are at an all time high.

It just sucks to think that there's never a good time to delve into H-gaming... Back in the 2000s, when it was the wild west era of the internet, censorship was basically unheard of, but the downside was that hentai gaming was rife with viruses that would absolutely brick your PC, so we would stay away from them due to safety concerns.

Nowadays, we have websites like F95 and FFF, which makes hentai gaming much safer than it ever was back in the 00's... But now censorship is rearing it's ugly head on the industry, and it doesn't help that more and more countries are classifying any hentai that is remotely non-con as illegal too...

Anyways, some people are more optimistic about the matter because we still have Steam, Itch.io and Subscribestar, but then i ask, how long until those gets compromised as well? Steam would be harder to be pressured to cave-in since it's a juggernaut of a company, but i feel like it's only a matter of time until Itch.io and Subscribestar becomes the next victims of the witch hunt...

The political threat appears to stem more from sex-negative social/religious conservatives than sex-positive feminist progressives. The conservative movement as a whole isn't as solidly opposed to censorship in porn as some of their other stances surrounding free speech would suggest.

Hey guys, I need an update on this, what are the simplest and least risky/shady methods to get DL Points as of now?
Agreed. I've struggled with Amazon jp Pay and For Books. Everything is either getting declined or it seems just to shady.

Well that was... interesting. Got the issue with my For Books account resolved by them sending me a link to set my new password after reaching out to them. Then I attempted to make a purchase of points with my debit card.

Declined

Bank sends an email stating suspected fraud "Warm." Not unusual so I call the bank and it turns out they don't do international transactions at all. So instead I try my credit card with Chase. The order goes through and I get a confirmation email which is almost immediately followed by a cancellation email. Unlike last time, this comes from For Books itself and not a bank. The cancellation reason is listed as "Fraudulent Purchase." I contact Chase and the rep tells me that there is no hold or issue on their end, which leads me to believe it is For Books that is detecting fraud somehow.
Regardless, looks like I might just be stuck no longer using DLsite anymore as I am now thoroughly exhausted with trying this whole rigamarole.

Sucks to hear things didn't work out. If you haven't already, you should probably ensure that the charge on the card is cancelled as well. No sense paying for points you aren't getting. If it isn't cancelled, you might want to just suck it up and contact them again asking for the points you were charged for.

Some people had commented earlier, but I'll say the easiest method I've found. Go to play-asia.com then buy BitCash Prepaid Card for some amount for example 2000 yen. Then you go to your DLsite account and there on "Select payment method" you select BitCash and the amount you bought (for example 2000) then you enter the code (which is in Japanese) to redeem 2000 points to your account.

its easy. problem with play-asia is that they easily run out & it takes them forever to restock.

also it hard to figure out how much you have left on the BitCash card.

buying "DLsite points" from that book store is much more convenient, it even tells how much you have left.

You just redeem the same amount, not partial. As in the example, you buy 2000, you redeem 2000, that way you don't wonder if you had left any or not.

Also it seems "for books" can also run out of stock...

Anyone know why you are not able to write reviews anymore in DMM/FANZA? I’m assuming it’s a foreigner thing at this point didn’t have this issue a year ago
