Couple of things people need to keep in mind....

As Hyperserver , a member of Mr Dots team, said multiple times Mr Dots does not do NTR kink. The only time they did that kink was last fantasy update where Hyperserver used his favor to get it. Its now used up and as he confirmed earlier, its not likely to be featured again.

Secondly, it has been confirmed by Hyperserver that the last fantasy update did not manage to get any new subs (that warrant the effort of making the update) which means the 2nd update will be pushed back in favor of the new game.

Therefore, I think it would be self fish of us to demand Mr. Dots make content he does not like... Especially when Mr. Dots doesn't see any rewards for his work. Remember, we're not even paying him.

Well even the paying customers are leaving

Even the Subscribestar numbers are down around 25% from a high of around 2600 to about 1770 now

It will be interesting to see if they can reverse the decline with their new game- all comes down to whether they take on board the valid criticisms of their approach or not.

DMD was a hot game. Melody was ok but I'll say it again, DMD was a hot game. Better story. Better models. Touched more on the taboo which was pretty much the main focus. Wished that there were more sharing scenes with Martin, more dream scenes with just Dee and Martin, as well as more alternate scenes with Elena and her F's friend. I was really excited to hear about the Fantasy Scene Collection and it didn't disappoint. Was really looking forward to the 2nd one as well. I'll be honest. I was a paying member on Subscribestar and I left because I wasn't interested in Sunshine Love. Getting more subscribers won't happen when you make a small hot fantasy collection at the same time you are updating your bigger main focus game that more people arn't interested or are losing interest in. Want to get subscribers back? Make a new game that's similar to DMD. :WeSmart:

Just my opinion, of course. :)

Well well well. Took you long enough to crawl out of your cave again. Honestly i expected your talk about "user numbers" and "valid criticism" much earlier. You get lazy about that ;)

But to take you on your own words: Even after DMD fantasy update, where we did "most wanted" content, the numbers are falling - that's true.
But that only does show, how unrelated number of supporters and DMD content are. Even after giving people the content they asked for, the numbers still didn't grow.
You really overestimate the F95 community. Those who complain over here don't get that much attention. We listen to people posting on patreon or Subscribestar, as THEY are the ones who really deserve to be listened to.

And yes, we listen to these people - so we will do less textwalls, a MC with more spine, and also add a dedicated possibility to end in a harem.

About content like sharing, netorare, bestiality, lolli or anything else like that, we do what WE think we want to do for the story. This will also not change within the new game.

What you call "valid criticism", we call "shouts from people who have no right to vote at all, as they aren't supporters". They might enjoy the game (as we can't prevent our game(s) from being pirated) or they might hate it - it's their own opinion, but NEVER expect us to change anything just because of some entitled non-supporters.

There are lies, damn lies and statistics... as the saying goes; although the later usually do reflects some measure of the truth.

I bought into DMD based on its initial outline; yes, I do remember the initial document outline for DMD, now no longer available.

In fact DMD was one the first AVN that introduced me to the Creator Patronage model, I started on Pateron and moved to SubsribeStar with DMD, and I enjoyed “premium privileges” right up to the end of CHP3 / middle of CHP4.

I ended my subscription because I was disappointed at the direction DMD had settled into and although I was an “entitled supporter” I knew my voice would not be heard above the clamour.

To explain, a Kink by its nature will always be a minority thing, that is why it is a “Kink”; those averse to a kink will always outnumber those who enjoy it and, commercially, unless the artist is wholly wedded to the integrity of their original vision, the majority will change the AVN’s direction towards blandness.

It is the same route another well know developer has taken leaving behind fans of their original niche output to conform to the bland criteria and restrictions of the funding platforms.

I admire your staunch support for MrDots but lets not pretend that the current output is a reflection of “artistic freedom of choice” as opposed to being dictated by anything other than the clamour of the majority and the restrictions of the major funding vehicle on which it is published.

I agree with this but not on your stance. Mr. Dots and his team are the biggest "people pleaser" dev team I've ever seen. They try to give everyone content. For example, at the end of ch 3 they wanted to axe a few paths including the sharing path so they can "refocus on the important main path (F/D) that made this game what it is"

Then after an initial backlash, they reverse course literally a week later.

At the end they kept every single paths and have an "ending" for every single routes (interestingly enough, with an exception of Martin) even at the expense of the supposedly "most important F/D route". Furthermore, in the last few updates they added even more content of side characters for some reason (Dee manager and Koko)...All this, combined with time constraints, led to a very sloppy and short cut-y writing/rendering for each paths in chapter 4. (IMO, bad decision)

Then most recently, Hyperserver decided to use his hard earned favor to forced an NTR scene in the fantasy collection to please some NTR fans.

And all this for what? For half the fan base abandoning ship? For people on this site to still angrily used old recycled arguments to insult Mr. Dots team?

As the saying goes:

"When you try to please everyone, you will please no one in the process."

Lets hope Mr. Dots learn their lesson and just make the game that they want. Instead of trying to keep pleasing everyone and shoot themselves in the foot...

You're right, the best way to create something that has any chance to work while enjoying the process, is to do what you want and listening a bit to constructive criticism, but still have the final word, and not going too far from your initial goal because of comments.

BUT, doing this, you're sure to have SOME following, but not the max amount. That's the whole point of blockbuster movies like Marvel and Disney stuff : they consult 50 billions sources of marketing research to make sure the movie won't displease anyone. And it doesn't, it makes big bucks (up until last year anyways), thanks to normies who are buying tickets no matter what and don't care if they are watching "LE CINEMA" or a glorified PS5 cinematic. But it's very bland for non-normies.

For some reason, while I tend to believe that for porn games, the audience won't be a majority of normies (you're there because normal porn easily available everywhere doesn't float your boat anymore, in my view), the most vocal protestors of anything that was initially planned for DmD, are normies. Or to be precise, people who feel that life is unfair (which it is, but get over it) and somehow want the unbreakable couple bliss, or the "I am the only guy on Earth allowed to fuck" they're deprived of irl to happen in a porn game.
These people have plenty of other games to choose to get exactly that, but because the characters in DmD have some appeal they don't find elsewhere, they used their voices to "force" Dots team to deviate from his initial plan. I mean they chose to, for the money, and who can blame them ?

And just like for Marvel and Disney, it worked for a while, but when the creator doesn't do 100% of his vision, the audience feels it, grows bored even if creator did everything to please them, and starts moving towards other creators. I think that's what happened there, and if I have someone to blame, it's non-normies like me who didn't protest as loudly as normies.
But it's basically an unwinable fight : this shit is more important to normies than it will ever be for us, + the Americans make the majority of the revenue for this kind of stuff, there are a lot of them, and thus, a lot more normies. + that local "customer is king" motto they have which doesn't help.

"Customer is King" is nice at the grocery store but for anything creative it should be "go fuck yourself customer you don't know what's good. Let me cook". If the creator is talented, he will make money no matter what. But maybe he needs more for various reasons (not only greed, you do not accept to stray away from your vision if you don't have a need for more money for IRL reasons, sometimes) and when it doesn't work anymore he probably should go back to doing whatever he likes for a while and see what happens. And this time I hope non-normies will do more to support it.

That's valid. If determined to make stories you personally find appealing or sexy, definitely don't force anything. I would only add that a lot of people are growing a bit bored with his style - both art and writing - and it may benefit him to make something that isn't always totally aligned with his exact tastes.
I'm not focusing on NTR specifically but anything at all. He clearly wants an audience and makes money doing this. I'd propose that the audience will slowly dwindle if he just keeps pumping out the same thing over and over.

IMO, the first change has to be the art. It doesn't have to be photo realistic but slightly better. They haven't aged well.
After that I'd maybe consider something out of his comfort zone.

But if not, that's ok. As for the fantasy tales, not feeling it is monetarily worth the effort makes more sense to me than pumping out more generic stories that may as well have been in DMD. That still makes no sense to me given the point. A new story? Sure. But not one where the point is to change it up for those wishing DMD had a bit more.

Ok, I will give my 2 cents about this game I supported in the past. I was a supporter for 1.5/2 years then leaved. Maybe Hyperserver will find something interesting and will share it with the DMD team.

So, I enjoyed the original plot: you're a perverted MC who would like to have fun (abuse? :p) his hot D, and the game play was fun (1 critical mistake could end the game) and you are rewarded quickly. With new updates, the number of possibilities improved, and more kinks satisfied. The first chapters were very goods.
Unfortunatly, the game slowly evolved into something less perverted and more romantic (honestly boring) game. Too much text, too romantic, less kinky with pretty much no new actions. I'm not against romantism, I'm IRL, but I'm not here for that. I want to release myself, quickly.
On a technical point of view, the game was ok, but didn't evolved fast enough and looked old at the end, even if I understand why : team skills, time, money and game identity.
At some point, I was so bored with the game I just extracted to files to quickly check the pics and videos, then canceled my subscrition shortly after.

In the end: I liked the characters, the story wasn't badly written and D is still hot.

But: too slow, looking old and not perverted enough.

Please remember your fan/customers are a bunch of pervs (I'm too) and need to be satisfied. they want titties, butts, dicks in holes in unusual situations and less text.

Now I have 2 advices:

1/ if they want to continue with the same kind of story, they have to follow the Being a Dik example : premium pictures and animations with the best models around.

2/ if they are ready to change, I recommand them to allow more freedom. There is a reason if everybody copy Big Brother!
You are always 2 clicks of a sex scene, you can see boobs everywhere and there is plenty of actions with short text.

But be careful! there is a good and a bad version of this kind of game:

- The bad one, by Darksilver himself, with Glamour. the begining is good then boring, with useless scene, more and more and more an more and... more and more grind and frustation for the players (and your project die).

- The good one, Icstor style: liberty, hot girls (the milf/ the young innocent girl / Lara Croft) and everybody is perverted. A little grind at the begining of the game then sex, sex, sex, sex, sex. It's not perfect but it's really effective, and that's the goal.

I will just add this: you said (Hyper) peoples are not comming back after the last update. Of couse, there are not, because the reputation of your game is done and can't change in people mind with 1 update. You must use them to the new kind of content on the long run (if not too late). Also, what is happening with DMD already happened to Dark Silver with Glamour : Customers come, try the game, enjoy, start to be bored, leaved, come back, are bored again then leave forever and forgot about the game. the best (more succesful) game stay the same from day 1 to the last. And more than anything, creators must remember that in the end, customers are not here for the plot, but for the titties.

Number of polygons, or resolution of textures, or photorealism in general doesn't make art more beautiful. It's the character design, facial expressions, clothing, poses, camera angles that matter. And then you have to make the story and sex scenes not boring.
Dots managed to do that for a while with DmD, Melody was also alright in my book, even if it started the boring Vanilla trend, at least the progression pace and the good character design was still there. It started to really be boring at the end of DmD, and also the entire run of SL, which has newer DAZ models and kept a relatively good character design, but this didn't save it from being boring af right from the start.
So players and creators should obsess a bit more about character design and story/pacing than about what Gen are the DAZ characters. Cause everybody in this thread enjoyed DmD more than SL regardless of the outdated 3D models.
