Not sure if my wording of the title will be understandable with the word limit, but does anyone else cant bring themselves to play an adult game where the MC is extremely frustrating/annoying? Recently I've been playing a game called "Evenicle" and dont get me wrong the gameplay and artwork is pretty good but the MC is so frustratingly annoying that i couldnt force myself to continue playing. Another example is "Big Brother", I dont about you guys but I was on team Eric the whole time because his personality and just overall dialogue is way better than the MC where everything was like "Me horny, why you mad I watch you take shower".
Do you ever decide to not play a game because of how MC acts?

Big Brother was the first game where the MC was so unlikeable I couldn't keep playing. The guy was a major creep and seriously needed to be beaten senseless. If I were DS I would have sent his sorry ass to Military School and thrown the game away!.

The woman in the game look amazing, but the MC is just human waste... Nothing more.
How he acts, how he looks... Terrible.
That's why i have a hard time to get into MotH, every time i see that face my mood to play further is plummeting down.
But since the 0.13 update i have been rewriting the whole game so it's more a romantic game instead of the crap it is now.
And i don't mind a asshole as a character when it fits the game and story (Like Corruption or when you can choose different roles like Urban demons, four element trainer).
But in Big Brother it felt 100% out of place.
Other good examples where the MC is a asshole are Incest Story 1, Milf's control, Milf's villa.. (I haven't tried Milfy city yet so i can judge about that one) But Icstor is another dev who does not know the meaning of romance.

But to create a incest themed game with multiple woman with romance, well that requires some writing skills and imagination.
And there are not many that have that.
But i have been a pledge to the patreon of @J II D for 7 months now and the comics and chapters of his script that he writes proves that it's possible to have romance in such a game.
But to each their own.
Most people want a quick game with a fuck-fest and are not interested in a story.
I think it’s extremley hard to mix romance with harem, best there can be is a top mistress that has more focus than the others. That’s what’s really needed for romance anyway and most developers don’t really go too deep into story when there’s like 5+ love interests in asingle game.

. It has pretty nice artwork, but I couldn't stand most of the choices I was offered during the first half hour to an hour in. There were plenty of times where I knew the girls were messing with him, but the MC just gullibly went along with everything while thinking with his dick and not showing an ounce of self-respect and I just had to shut it down and haven't touched it since.
Obviously big brother comes to mind, but I'm also really critical of retards in lechertowns. A very high percentage of female MC fit this description. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind if my character is a bit naive, I don't mind if the world around my character is a bit extra lecherous, but if my character lives and grew up in that world, and is so fucking dense that they have absolutely no defense against the lecherous society, then it just becomes a game where you are forced to watch yourself get abused. I don't find that entertaining.
Another game type that frustrates me to no end, and one that swallows up the retard in lechertown, is player character antagonist. In these games the player character works against the player's goals. Essentially you're playing this game to get to the adult content, but throughout the game you have to fight against your character to get what you want.

I suppose it's rather hypocritical that I don't mind playing male sluts (basically every harem setting ever) but I can't help it. It's probably more the lack of agenda and being forced into a victim role that annoy me.
Also ICSTOR's games of course. Milfy City is his first project with a tolerable MC.
Then again, a lot of Japanese titles have far worse protagonists, but at least those are usually straight up evil instead of creepy douchebags.

I didn't play his previous games, but in the case of at least Caroline, the big sis, and Sarah, the little sis, things are a lot more romance-centric than most life sims, ie big brother, man of the house, etc. Caroline is trying really hard to deny her feelings for you, don't want to spoil things, but I'm sure there's more to come there. Sarah is the exact opposite, willing to go to any lengths, it seems, to please you.
Of course, it may be that what you actually mean isn't romance and what you want is a slow burn stairway to heaven drama, but even in that case, I wouldn't rule Milfy City out.

I don't know that an MC has ever stopped me outright. I guess in terms of the story, the less I like it, the less I care and just start blitzing it. So if something like the MC puts me off I just kind of power through, skim reading. Things that will make me stop playing are mechanics, mostly grinding. If I'm having to put in hours of taking a shower, eating breakfast, have the conversation I had the last 10 days for a +1 with some chick hoping something different happens, I usually check out. There has to be some momentum to it for me. When I see the below, I just say "no thanks."

It is difficult to find female MC games that don't have these problems, but they aren't all bad, Coceter Chronicles, Kingdom of Deception, Good Girl Gone Bad, Seraphim Academy (shameless self plug), I Love Daddy, and a few others manage to make strong or at least, non victimized female characters.

Milfy City is the exception to the rule, trust me.
All of his previous MCs are so unlikeable that you're better off just extracting the images and animations than playing the game.

Yes, it's my number one cause of drop after I actually start a game, I hate creeper, retard, beta/cuck MCs, so once in a while I find a game I actually like the protagonist and play the game.

i agree with big brother part but the thing about putting camera all over the house to get online viewers just destroyed any romance just like space out (good render good graphic nice story but ruined by the same way)
Yeah, I like a lot of stuff. Personally my problem was Max himself, who was insufferable, but the rest isn't exactly great either, to put in perspective, there are more renders going into the solo masturbation scene in the next release of Seraphim Academy than there were in Big Brother's threesome scenes.
Yeah pretty the majority of female protag games are extremley unenjoyable for the sole reason that they always put you in a position where you’re either raped/blackmailed and that’s pretty much all the h content of the game.

I usually play yuri games and they tend to be on the more romantic side so the MC's are usually likeable but I truly hate the women in blackmail/corruption games due to how idiotic they are.
As for male MC's, there are very few I can tolerate.

I think I managed up until the first rape scene with the farm girl where he stood watching it for 10 minutes before deciding to help her. The most conversation he had up until that point was "oooh, boobs" and "you're cute" .... and that's it.
It's immature humour in an adult game. The target audience is over 18 and the humour is aimed at young teenagers.
I'm a raging lesbian so I may be missing the attraction of the bumbling idiot male MC but I see a similar thing in a lot of VN's/RPG's especially those coming from Japan.
I don't find the clueless moron MC to be endearing, amusing or tolerable.

One second you have hot girl by the pool, things are going well, MC speaks and it was like a shotgun blast to my sex drive. He was a massive turn off. If we could have got rid of him and kept Eric, that would have been better. He was still a douche just a lot better at it. If i'm going to see a bloke fucking the woman i'm trying to get hot over then he'd better be good at what he does not some limp dick kid.
