1. Do you take adult games more like porn or games?
-Porn... thats what Im here for
1a. If you take them as porn, would you hate having to deal with risk management? would you be okay with it if you can directly deactivate it?
-no, if you remove the risk management its not a game, even visual novels (usually) give you an option that will affect the plot/ make going through the game unique. But that being said I tend to avoid games that have have such a high

1b. If you take them as a game, do you prefer gameplay based ones or risk management ones? if the second what would be your intensity of the risk to be optimal?

2. How do you feel about current adult games in the english market? do you have a favourite game? is there something that you would love to change?
-dont really got an answer for this one right now
-what I will say is that some of the RPGs here are balance in a way that I will use item and spend money going against my learn horde and grind mentality form "taditional rpgs"

3. If you are asked to choose between game a) and b), could you make a priority list of what would you take into account to take your choice?

-1-Game pictures and girls (or -Context of the game if I have one in mind)
-2-Fetishes-Gameplay
-3-lenght of game play/ completeness or belief in potential

-Animation-Humour-Writing are a plus but are also something I dont experience/cant judge untill I play the game

4. Are you bothered if a game has unavoidable scenes with fetishes you dislike but that you can skip them? (basically characters will acknoledge that it happened, just that you aren't forced to see the scene itself).
-If a game has an unavoidable seen with something I dislike, then its fine and ill deal even if i cant skip... -unless it a black list fetish for me

TL;DR,

I think most of the Western VN's as posted here are severely lacking as games.
Because of the binary choice here, I guess that makes them porn.

To be honest, I often find that the attempt at "gameplay" (e.g. sandbox / grinding) is distracting from the porn value and is therefore not what I prefer.

However I would like to make the distinction between adult VN (meaning a VN with adult themes and some sex scenes) and a porn VN (meaning a VN where the story is only there to provide some kind of context for the sex scenes).

"Gameplay" in the sense of branching storylines, either being based on points that have to be gained with different characters, or based on choices which open or close certain paths, does not really make it a game in my opinion, but if you do so, then I would consider them "games".

Something like FSN is a story first and porn second, honestly the porn just got in the way of the story and it would be better without it. I never played FSN when I was horny so the sex scenes were just jarring.

But most games on this site are games I play when I'm horny, not when I just want to play a good game. That being said you can have porn with a good story but it needs to be aware that it is porn and work with that.

So to answer your questions:
1a) If you can deactivate it that's fine ... as long as you tell me that by deactivating it I'm not missing out on scenes.

2) They're ok. I must admit I prefer the ones that are more porny and less story because I can't say I find the stories very compelling even in the more story based ones - I'm picky when it comes to stories, just finding a story I like is hard enough so trying to find stories I like and fetishes I like together would be a real challenge.
There are certain things I'd like to see more of in adult games of course like proud, slutty female protagonists. And more of my fetishes of course but that's everyone's opinion I'm sure.
And I'm also not a real fan of the rapey protagonists.

3)
Highest Priority
Fetishes - Obviously if I enjoy the fetishes present in the porn I'm far more likely to enjoy the porn as a whole. As you might be able to guess from my avatar I enjoy pregnancy and impregnation a lot among other fetishes.
Protagonist - I generally prefer female protagonists, I like it when the protagonist is lewd from the start. But at the same time I like protagonists who aren't bimbos and are intelligent and ambitious while being slutty. I dislike rapey or unlikable protagonists.
Context of the game/Story - A good setting and context for the events taking place can definitely improve a game while a bad one can take away from it. For instance I really don't like the whole "HFF card" (where you have a card that lets you have unprotected sex with any woman you want) in Haramase Simulator despite liking the impregnation aspects of the game, it feels wrong. On the other hand if I'm playing a mage character looking for secret knowledge and recharging their magic through sex that would be really cool and would improve my enjoyment.
Art Quality and Style - I can enjoy both Anime and more CG styles if done well but I have a preference towards the more anime style.
Amount of Content - I want more of it. :p
Gameplay - Any necessary grinding should be enjoyable.
Lowest Priority

4) Depends on the fetish. I'm not an anal fan but if there's a skipable anal scene whatever. But if the protagonist rapes someone to death as part of a snuff fetish I don't care if I can skip the scene, the fact that the character did that has me out the door.

The way I think about it is there are Broadly two types of porn games. Story games. And Core Game-play Loop Games. These two types of games bleed in the middle for "Open World Games" Where stat grinding meets story telling, but I would put them firmly in the Story Telling column. Pressing the "Exercise Button" once per day get your stamina up is not really a "Game-play Loop" though we do seem to love chasing numbers! :)

Core Game-Play Loop games are fucking hard to make. They require talented programmers and often need an entire team to do well. Or years and years of development. Or both. That's why the are fucking rare, and are often only from professional companies (rance). Most "Managment" or "Strategy" porn games lack the polish and design finesse we can get outside of porn games.

But when we do play them, I think what we are doing, fundamentally different from story games. Playing Rance, you're fully engaged in a strategy game loop. You get your rewarded with naughty pictures and hopefully a boner, but your mind spending hours mostly thinking about that Loop.

Where story games, suck you into their world and characters inviting you to be titillated by the saucy fever dreams of their creators. Great story games are much more common. The tech is much less complicated so motivated creators have gotten past that to begin truly mastering their craft. I'm looking at you DmD, Alexandria, Foot OT Mountain, Acting Lessons, WVM and Light of my Life. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Summertime Saga for it extraordinary polish, unquestionably the most beautifully executed "Open World" that I've seen.

All this is to say, these are two very different game-play experiences. Riding a "Story Game" rocket ship to Planet Fuck is one thing. Actually "playing" a game with a semi hard ding-dong is something very different.

Porn.
Because they're reason of exist is, as sex games.
I play an adult game because of exciting contenu. But it is more complex then porn.
A story, emotions, it's different and i think better.

bit of both really, some days im mainly focusing on the story and havent got the time or energy to get hot and bothered over the lewd scenes, infact some days i click as fast as i can to make the scene end quicker atleast itll be saved in the gallery if i wanted to watch the lewdness

other days its the opposite and i click pretty fast during interactions but savour the lewd scenes

Firstly, thank you for posting an interesting question.

1. Do you take adult games more like porn or games?
I take them more as games. But it's mostly because I like to have some control and sometimes take actions that make me lose said control. I also like to choose what I want to do, and makes me immerse deeper into the world. Well, at least if it is made well.

1a. If you take them as porn, would you hate having to deal with risk management? would you be okay with it if you can directly deactivate it?
While I don't usually take them as porns, I would mostly prefer to have some kind of risk involved. It obviously depends on how it is made though.

1b. If you take them as a game, do you prefer gameplay based ones or risk management ones? if the second what would be your intensity of the risk to be optimal?
I don't think you explained what you consider a management game.

In general, it will always depend on how it's made. Is it made through 1. interesting decisions which then can lead to one risk or another. Or is it 2. a basic - "if you fight this monster then you will risk losing = that is the risk of fighting". If it is the first, then I find risk and management interesting. If it is the latter where you risk losing / having to manage various extra characters, then not so much.

I think risk mostly should be part of a game and it makes it more interesting too.

2. How do you feel about current adult games in the english market? do you have a favorite game? is there something that you would love to change?
I mainly like 2dcg art. A great example could be Claire's Quest. I like it because you play a girl who is put in a bad spot, you don't know how to fight and you get to choose how she goes about in the world. It is sort of open world, so it being less and less dark over the time is expected. Especially the beginning is interesting to me.

I'm a person where if I spend time on something then my expectations will grow. I will come to expect higher quality, better stories and more a coherent world. Thus, adult games has come to disappoint me more and more. For I like a story where the world makes sense, the plot is well made and my characters actually have a personality.

I'm simply bored to death with the tropes in many, especially Japanese, adult games. The old "protect your virginity", the "all men wants to bang you" and some extremely weak plots to boot. I've also come to dislike grinding. There are way too many games that combat is a part of where it just fills the game with pointless encounters while you ever so slowly climb in level.

Another thing that slightly annoys me, which might be bit pedantic/ridiculous, is how some MC's will dress in next to nothing and then go to areas where opponents will try to abuse them. How does that even make sense, lol.

While all adult games have one thing in common; they're about adult content. I would generally like to see some of the games implement a route where you don't engage in the debauchery. Few adult games really does that. I like when they offer me the debauchery - especially when that is what I'm going for. But what if my character just wants to be a good person and help out where they can without constantly trying to fuck everything that moves? I think Good Girl Gone Bad did a very good job in that regard. You can choose to take take the MC down a path of increasingly more lewd paths. Or, you can choose to stay true to your boyfriend, stay in college and be a good influence on your friends around you. I like that a lot.

3. If you are asked to choose between game a) and b), could you make a priority list of what would you take into account to take your choice?
Yes, I think so. I like to think about the games that I've played and what I like and dislike about them.

4. Are you bothered if a game has unavoidable scenes with fetishes you dislike but that you can skip them? (basically characters will acknowledge that it happened, just that you aren't forced to see the scene itself).
In short: yes, I like when I can avoid stuff I don't like. In my opinion, there should always be a choice, and that choice should be connected to consequences. I generally like to keep my character smart, on his/her toes and avoid the bad stuff that the game will throw my way. Thus, I want to be able to either fight back or avoid the scene entirely. It would also be interesting to see some consequences of running/fighting other than "oh, you defeated this opponent, so now you will avoid X consequence".
