How many times should I spin at the slot machines in the demon world before saving and trying again to get more tokens?

iirc, what it did is:
first get enough tokens to make the maximum gamble, then save.
take maximum gamble and only save if won. otherwise load. repeat

be sure to buy persona mask whenever available, because if you don't, they'll be lost forever upon inventory restock (story progress based.) I say that, but I did beat the game without knowing this so i had none at the time. (I wonder if the game was inspired by smt, with how egregiously good status effect skills are...)

A new version 3.11 is out with some interesting balance changes. Your unsummoned girls recover 20% HP every turn and recover from status effects.

wild tot think that a balance patch that major came out so many years later.

this'll def help with the final boss of the seocnd game, who inflicts as unique status that can only be cured with Purification /Circle because every other status cleanse in the game only does it by listing the "normal" status effects and curing them. if you don't cure said status within a turn or two, it removes the victim from battle entirely (unrevivable.)

I think this is a good move, for that particular scenario, but it does seem like an unfortunate devaluation of status cure units for general content. Usually, you wanted to just immmobilize and instakill your prey anyway, since they have SMT-style common enemies.

Did Crystal Girl ever get her "immune to physical contact" passive when the player has her, i wonder...

High key the hp thing kinda seems pointless especially in the second part where you could easily get one shot by random trash out in the wild due to bad rng.

i'm guessing it rezzes them, but otherwise it'd be of marginal use for rotating units who use hp as their offense resource?
otherwise, it should let you just put your dead units in outer mystic sanctum to recover while your other units play, without needing a heal skill?

I never had that issue, especially not in part 2 since you can make ridiculously game breaking equipment. Busted equipment mixed with the best characters can easily make one turn victories. Not even the bosses can last long. But I am guessing most people don't go as try hard as me. I have to like handicap my self so the game don't get too easy.

I imagine the HP regen is most useful for those endless dungeons, especially if you try to just grind level ups for different parties.

But who knows maybe this isn't even for balance but rather just to make the Mystic Sanctum more lore accurate.

Someone compared it to SMT, which I think is apt. If you build stuff coherent, it's cake. I had an "always go first" stun followed by everyone spamming Death/Devour type skills, but if you don't like those kind of strats and/or don't like Gem crafting, it's likely pretty tough.

Also, damage output is actually very high for enemies; Generally we just don't actually experience them if we're building a team well.

I mostly like the lore-accuracy part of it though. The lore point is to make a super-hospitable environment, so it just makes sense it'd heal.

Is there an encyclopedia for the monsters like what skills and passives they can learn?
There is a reason why it doesn't exist. Just a list of what each Skill each girl has would not be too difficult to put together. However just that alone would not be too useful since the stats they have matter significantly. Moves are split between not just Attack and Magic but there is also a third Special damage type too! How good someone is at one of those can greatly vary. Some focus heavily on specific damage type while some are all around.
To have a proper idea you would need to raise every girl to basically the same level. Passives are tied to affection so you would also need to farm that one up too.
The big issue comes that the final girl in the game is post game content and she is extremely high level. So you would need to build her up and then raise everyone else up to her level plus the affection so... yeah it would require an obscene amount of time to make it with the large number of girls the game has. Certainly doable but it would not be an enjoyable job the slightest.
Don't even get me started on what level exactly each skill is learned. You can power level and gain multiple at the same time, however that will not tell you on which level it was learned. You would literally need to play through the game with every girl so you can very slowly level and get the exact info on when each skill is learned. That is one information you will never ever see.
I was once interested in putting a guide together but by the end of the game it really hit just how much work it would be to complete it.

TLDR: It would be an absurd amount of work for one person to make such a guide and the game is not popular enough to have a whole community collaborate to put the info together.

Can you get gameover scenes from wild enemies in the sequel? In the first game I didn't get any scenes after being defeated from random encounters.

I think bosses have them, and there's a certain few enemies have a unique "grab" attack that directly targets Kuro, so I think they might have them as well (if you lose to said grab). But aside from that, generic mob enemies don't have any scenes on loss.

This is all from what I remember, though, and I haven't played in a LONG while.

iirc there's a heat tolerance in the desert, and aromatic sour resets or halts it from heating up?

nope; there's definitely no special monster for it or anything like that. I 100% the game and would've remembered something like that.
