you lack the correct font file so the games text can't display properly. hence the black boxes.
Y'all at this point I'mma just wait until the game becomes stable enough, then - since it's a decent effort Acerola game - dazedanon will probably give us a decent ChatGPT translation
It's easier said than done though. considering it has a lot of text as far as I know. Would he fix the blackscreen issue though?

I really wish Acerola would put more effort into the actual map. All of their recent games are just walking simulators at this point, finding a new city doesn't feel exciting and in this game you walk through like 20 different villages that are just 7 shacks next to each other.
Feels like they're picking quantity over quality with the scenes as well

speaking of that, I think many of the H-game are walking sim. horrible map design and waste of time quest. could've just like "key of egg" just click and play instead of walking around doing jack shit
