You’re assuming my expectations are unreasonable, but that depends on your perspective. This demo is only 10-15 minutes long, while I’ve played much more comprehensive demos that offer up to 30 minutes or an hour of gameplay. The purpose of a demo is to showcase the core experience of a game and hook the player, and if it fails to do that, then the criticism is valid. Just because it’s a demo doesn’t mean it gets a pass on being disappointing.
A Demo is the equivalent to movies or tv series as a longer trailer version. Next time get your concepts straight a demo is not an entire playthrough or a prologue which is what you are describing. Some people really have no concept and lack patience it seems for amazing potentialed games to develop.
