When you look at the greats and big hit games like Karryn's Prison, Night of Revenge, Degrees of Lewdity, even at their very first inception, do you know what you see?
People praising a working, content-filled demo that is clearly a game demo and not a glorified proof of concept.

Now, we get a constant stream of v0.0.0.1s with Subscribestar/Patreon "Support me!" requests from people drawing a handful of images and padding it out with basic movement. Nobody seems to think anymore "is this a game I would want to play myself? Is it longer than 5 minutes? Should I playtest it first to see if there are any major bugs?"

The dev has hand-drawn art and a clear vision, but just couldn't wait until it was actually in a decent state with an acceptable amount of content and had to rush it out there. That's how you spoil a first impression and your potentially good game becomes abandoned at v0.0.3

Dear author, "fencer" is a swordsman who is using Renessaince-era techniques and/or blades. Like the ones d'Artangan would use.
A guy who buys stolen goods is "fence".

isnt that moonstad from genshin impact?
this look 90% Mondstadt from genshin impact but in pixel art
From the screenshots - it doesn't look particularly similar, apart from both being generic medieval towns.

yeah i can't lie, i agree with the earlier sentiments. like yeah, its a demo, i guess? feels more like a prototype than anything though. just a hodgepile of mechanics and game elements that looks awesome, but is pratically empty. the dev waiting until they had something more substantial and ready to release would have been a smarter play. but hey, happy to be proved wrong and see this game floursih. for what its worth, the 2.5d style is always a hit, and the artstyle is charming. maybe, just maybe, there might be something more to this than a demo that never sees completion.

Some devs may opt to release an alpha proof of concept simply to gauge interest, after all, not much fun going all-in on a game that maybe 1-3 people will like at most. Clown-tier 'devs' aside, for devs who mean business this is a valid tactic.:coffee:

But what people say, that growing more meat on your skeleton first is smarter, is also correct.
But well, ultimately, most opt for skeleton-build releases whatever the reason.
That's why i never download skeleton-builds.

So, if you peeps don't want to be oh-so-disappointed, maybe stop downloading skeleton-builds.
You lot know that you're very likely to get a gigantic nothing-burger, so why do it only to then end up bitching in the reviews like a total loser. I don't mean that you in particular do this, just sayin' in general btw.:coffee:

You raise some good points, but I feel two important aspects are overlooked if you take on this train of thought;

1 - It is often hard to decipher at what stage something is at initial glance prior to downloading and booting it up. There is no "v0.0.0.0.1" tag, nothing in developer notes saying it's his barebones skeleton, and looking at the screenshots you might even be led to assume there is far more content in the game than there is because of seeing stats, generated NPCs etc.

2 - Some games, even released as a 0.1 have been truly wonderful hits, look back at the games I mentioned above, Karryn's Prison, Degrees of Lewdity, or even newer releases such as Neru Escape or Operation: Establish Dominance. These were released as v0.1 and yet showcased full, incredible games with plenty of content and a clear vision.

At the end of the day, the review section is there for these reasons, and the comments there to discuss. To rate games so people can get a good idea if something is worth their time before downloading, exact same as looking at the reviews of a new restaurant before you order from there.
If we didn't rate great stuff like the above examples as high, and empty 2 min glorified galleries like this as low, then we'd all just be lurking. People review, people comment like yourself, and we engage because that's what the site is for rather than just another hentai-sharing.net or ryuugames with only download links.:coffee:

That and f95 has the best heroes for jorking links. God bless the heroes.

Going by this game and the others in their library, they’re very much a classic “artist who wants to make games”. Hopefully the Patreon money gets spent on someone who’s actually good at coding and game design. I believe something good could come of this if they improve in that area.

Woah! I didn't expect my game to get so much attention but I appreciate all the feedback I'm getting! I released the demo because I wanted to gauge interest and see if this was something people would be interested in and a few have asked for it just to see what it might look like in game. I definitely should have been more clear that the build was a skeleton build, just to show where the game is starting from. And also I was a bit excited to show it off haha.

There's not a lot of content at the moment but once things are set up I'll be able to focus on content creation, but a lot of time currently is spent building it up.

Thanks for everyone taking a look and leaving valuable feedback, I think all the criticisms are completely valid but the fact you guys are giving it attention at all I'm grateful for. I'll be taking it all in and will be working hard on this game! :D

The art style is amazing, and the concepts are compelling. The current state isn't really much of anything, but if this is expanded into a finished product I will buy it in a heartbeat. Give me a way to purchase it like an early access title, with one payment for permanent access to latest version, and I'm there.

Because this bears repeating: The art style is out of this world. Easily in my top five favourites I have seen in lewd games. Keep it consistent, and I'll gladly pay full modern game price for the game.
