I think devs should be free to create whatever they want to. Once you start bending to the whims of whiners, your artistic well drys up. That's why you get so many abandoned products.
you know who else felt free to create whatever? ubisoft, sony, bioware, firewalk studios and so on.
you either do what most gamers want or you end up either with a market price from 90 to 9 or out of bussiness.

Overall, this looks pretty good, but that ending came out of nowhere. Did that really happen or is the MC still asleep on the train and it was just a dream?

You have to be out of your mind if you think AAA studios make bad games because they followed their inspiration and passion instead of trying to make a cheap buck and getting caught

google is your friend. just look for concord-firewalk studios, assassins creed shadows-ubisoft and dragon age veilgard-bioware.
see what the "Inspiration and passion" did for them.

those who go for a quick buck face the consequenses by the player base so there really is nothing to dissagree with you there.
but devs who listen to critisism ( by the majority) have the opportunity to save their games. some have, some stick to the agendas/minorities and go the way of the concord and dustborn.

the good thing is that we now have actuall resullts of the "advise", "dev dont listen to anyone and do your thing"..

Concord released straight up unfinished. It's so clear that after the Sony acquisition that the studio got rushed to push it out when large chunks of assets and story weren't done. There were also huge problems with monetization compared to the rest of the character shooter market. As dogshit as Overwatch is, it at least doesn't cost $40 up front for a half-done product. This isn't a case of designers butting heads with the fanbase, it's Sony rushing a product to make quarterly earnings targets, literally what I'm talking about.

I've not played DA Veilguard (understandable I think as it's been out for less than a week), but my understanding after the Google search you've advised is that reception is mixed? It's bombing on Metacritic at 2.6/10, but reviews on Steam are Mostly Positive? Even if it is charting poorly, where's the evidence that this is because of devs not listening to player feedback?

Look, I'm not trying to say devs should entirely ignore their playerbase. Obviously you have to be accepting of criticism to some extent, like how No Man's Sky got way better when it incorporated basically everything people wanted over the next several years post-release. But when big titles flop, it's much more often because things are mismanaged behind the scenes, usually cause of some greedy exec.
On the other hand, The Last of Us 2 got review bombed insanely hard because devs wrote a story that pissed people off, and it's also one of the best selling PS4 games of all time. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting on Beyond Good and Evil 2, Ubisoft.

I am all for creativity, as much as you seem to be. and we agree about devs not ignoring their player base. my point in all this is that if AAA games that tried to cater to the few morons who dont even play games, fail, imagine what can happen to a solo ( most times) developer of a porn game.

some of these devs either dont do some prior research ( and I mean before even start making the story) or they are missled by people who, by their own admision, just play for the pretty pictures holding the ctrl key.

the only positive thing about a game in progress is that it is stil in progress, and any miscalculation can be adressed and fixed.
I do not believe in "stories are written in stone". I am a firm believer that the quality of a narator is in his ability to keep the story adaptable just like every good Story Teller/Dungeon Master ( if you will), because that is what a visual novel is. A story, where you the player, use a premade character and "move" in the world that is recreated for you.

p.s. I want to thank you for seeing that my post is in no shape or form ment to attack anyone and you kept the conversation civil. I greatly enjoyed it and thank you for that :) as for the games you mentioned, Beyond Good and Evil 2, I dont know anything about them. I am mostly playing survival craft games like 7d2d, The long dark and Valheim among others.

stay always healthy and thanx again. My DMs are open if you like to discuss more.

Hey everyone! I decided to start a public dev diary for Chapter 3 to share updates on how things are coming along with the new release.

Here’s some great news: all the renders and animations are done, and the coding is nearly finished! In Chapter 3, you can look forward to:

  • 2 new sex scenes;
  • 700 new images;
  • 37 new animations.
Right now, my main focus is getting everything running smoothly and thoroughly tested. Plus, as many of you know, the game includes a lot of music and sound effects, so I’m planning to add even more audio content.

There are also a bunch of improvements and tweaks in the works:

  • Adding a replay gallery;
  • Implementing a heart system;
  • Merging the Russian and English versions, which will make testing a lot simpler;
  • Optimizing the game files (it’s already over 2GB—way too big for just two updates!);
  • Revisiting earlier chapters. For example:
  • Removing the peeping scene from Chapter 1, as it got a lot of negative feedback;
  • Adding an option to skip the "Death Fight" in Chapter 2.
Most of the work is complete, and I’ll be announcing the release date for Chapter 3 very soon! Supporters on Patreon will get early access to the update based on their subscription tier. If you want to help the development and get extras like 4K images, feel free to join—it really helps keep me inspired and motivated. You can also join the game's channel.

But no matter what, I’m incredibly thankful to everyone reading this and to those who’ve already played my game. Thanks to you, more and more players are discovering this project and helping it grow. You’re my biggest support system, and I appreciate it more than I can say!

Thank you for your support and Stay Healthy!

Hey friends!

I’m super excited to share some big news about the progress of my visual novel! Here are the release dates for the upcoming update:

"Close Friend" – 14 December

"Friend" – 16 December

"Follower" – 20 December

Public Release – 30 December

A Little About the Development Process

Creating this update has been a real journey! There were plenty of challenges, especially during the coding phase since I’m tackling this project solo. Some of the technical hurdles were tough to overcome, but I’m thrilled to announce that the game now has a gallery feature! It wasn’t easy, and I poured a ton of time and effort into it, but I hope you’ll enjoy it. It’s far from perfect, but it’s a huge milestone for the project.

Heads up: If you have a save at the end of Chapter Two, you’ll need to replay it for the erotic scenes from Chapters One and Two to show up in the gallery. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience!

What’s New in Chapter Three?

  • 2 new erotic scenes;
  • 700 new images;
  • 37 new animations;
  • New sounds, music, and ambients;
  • Introduction of the game’s main female characters;
  • A new gallery feature;
  • Option to skip all mini-games;
  • Removal of the peeping father and Amalia scene from Chapter One;
  • Tons of small improvements and fixes.
I’m incredibly proud of this update. The image and animation quality has leveled up noticeably, and I feel like my writing has improved a lot too. I’m not stopping here—I’m committed to making the game even better and more engaging with every update.

Thank You!

I want to thank every single one of you for your amazing support. It truly means everything to me. Special thanks go to my paid subscribers—you’re few, but your support gives me the confidence to keep going. You’re the reason I keep working on this project with so much passion.

Thank you for believing in me, for your patience, and for being part of this journey. Your interest and encouragement inspire me every day.

Thank you for your support and Stay Healthy!
