It depends on the DRM they have. You might be able to find a tool that removes it.

If you have some technical skills, you can also try to remove it yourself but there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
The general process is:
1. Figure out how the DRM system works
2. Identify a weakness in the system
3. Create a tool that automatically exploit this weakness

For example, the tool in this thread is based around a DRM system that looks like this:
- Files are encrypted on-disk
- The game obtains a decryption key through some process
- When files are read, they are automatically decrypted and stored as plaintext within memory
- This encryption process is transparent to the actual game. ie. The game doesn't know the files are encrypted, it just reads data and the DRM layer performs the decryption automatically

In this case, the weakness was that:
1. The game-process is able to decrypt any file it wants to
2. The game-process could also load files that were NOT encrypted
3. When the game-process wrote data to disk, the data was not re-encrypted

So to exploit this weakness, the DRM-Removal tool hijacks the game-process and makes it read & write all files to create decrypted copies. Then other users can run the game directly using the decrypted files without needing a decryption key.

But that's just for this example. The process for removing DRM depends entirely on how the DRM system works. There is no generic solution.

Hi there!

I'm having trouble using the drmRemover on a game I got today, its a unity game with a startup and another .exe.
When I choose the exe I get the following error



Also when I choose the startup it seems to work but the game doesn't close and seems to stay stuck in extracting (I tried waiting a while and nothing seems to happen)



It's this posible to fix and extract the game with no DRM?

Probably not using this tool.
Unity games are usually written in C# which compiles to a different kind of file (It uses an intermediate-language / IM)

With Unity games you are better off looking for unity-specific tool.

Is there anywhere I can download MaiDrmBuster Ver0.67?
Membership sites such as North-Plus, south-Plus, spring-plus, and 2DJGAME come up when you search for MaiDrmBuster, but they are invitation-only, so I can't become a member (nor can I read their threads).
Actually, I know that cracked programs can be downloaded on a game-by-game basis from sites other than the ones mentioned above, but I want MaiDrmBuster.

Hello, I have a question about DRM. When I try to select my game folder, I get an error and asks me to select the executable file (.exe), but it does not appear in the folder I selected. I already configured it to show hidden files, but it still doesn't appear. Could you tell me how you made the executable file visible?

This program is so useful for games that are a pain to run with translators due to PlayDRM on them since you can't extract or hook the text with the DRM in the way.

honestly i hope its not a virus, i did a virustotal scan and it seemed meh-ish pretty fine to me..... i ran it and it didnt work on my game tho...

what i need is someone who can unlock a playDRM game i bought yesterday

you see im from germany and that blocks dlsite and steam "adult" games
i can still access the sites through vpn, but playDRM can somehow bypass vpn
and therefore blocks my license key from being processed

dlsite won't give me a refund because they blocked germany but they still take my money...

Your VPN is likely only applicable to the browser. There are free VPN that will affect your entire connection. You can do that via setting the connection to a proxy in connection manager. Or you can use something like HotspotShield which will create seperate connections. I haven't used HotSpotShield for ages so keep that in mind.

But understand a browser VPN or extension will not work for your entire connection. To me it's easier to just fix your configuration issue than expect someone to work on something they haven't for years.

I don't use a VPN except in particular circumstances like getting around geo-blocking. I mainly use tor but it doesn't do UDP.

I prefer to adguard with DNS on a daily basis. Someone else could help with you better recommending a particular VPN. If you are using protovpn your IP is likely being leaked in some way

so i tested HotspotShield and adguard vpn with all their settings but nothing...
and they don't even have a free japan server

the only vpm that has a UDP option is protovpn but i still can't get through the autorisation
this playdrm shit just does not process my license key...

by the way this is the game i bought
