It's just a generic cliche name. They also call them Darnell, Cole, Markus, Jacob and some even give them last names that mean "black" or nicknames that mean "black" or implies a large penis (like "Darnell Noir" or "Horse").

It's just one of those things you see, a stereotype. Like how most white girls in games are dumb blondes with big tits or how asian girls are always really tiny. Or how a fat balding old guy wants to molest a girl. It's a stereotype people rely on when they're short on creativity (that sounds snide, I know, but I'm just not a fan of lazy design).
