I'm surprised the game even runs. TBH. I understand you needed feedback, but did you play it? Cause holyshit.

Blocking doesn't work at all. I tried the Z key with every timing under the sun and never once blocked anything.
This causes me to die immediately on contact with any of the skeletons.
I cheated my HP to 5000 just to playtest here.

Enemies just decide to spawn wherever the fuck they feel like and whatever orientation. Sometimes facing the wrong way, sometimes on top of your character, sometimes offscreen.

Sometimes on loading an area you just wont have any vision. Welp. GG just restart.

Sometimes on opening a chest your vision goes away. Hopefully it comes back. Otherwise restart.

Finally found a TF potion and got some booba. Except the scene flashed so fast I couldn't even enjoy it.

Overall it's pretty much unplayable. It wouldve taken 5 seconds of playtesting to realize how bad it was.

First, Fix combat. Change the color of the 'beat' ring to show timing on when to block and when to attack.

Increase vision range. It's far too small right now.

Fix the major bugs, like vision simply not working sometimes on spawn.

Fix the minor bugs like enemy's spawning weirdly.

Add in some early healing or safe zone so players can actually get accustomed to the game.

Add in a way to view the model so players can enjoy the TF changes.

Harsh. This is a thread in the developer's subforum for support and feedback, not public release.

edit: no hate... just an old programmer who knows nothing is ever bug free
I gotcha, fam. I meant the current ones. Hopefully. LMAO.

I even made it easy. Timing is the second beat at prep. Look at the pink square. When the enemy starts its attack, it starts on a beat. Press Z on the one immediately after that one.

To attack, queue up a direction while the enemy is attacking. I mean in the animation. You have two whole beats for it. So when you see the enemy striking animation, press up, down or left/right. You'll attack.

Enemies just decide to spawn wherever the fuck they feel like and whatever orientation. Sometimes facing the wrong way, sometimes on top of your character, sometimes offscreen.
Yeah, they spawn randomly in the grid. They're not supposed to spawn off-screen, though. Bar any cheat shenanigans.

Bug reproduced and fixed.

Press the "BodyCam" button. It's the one between "up" and "left", refer to the "NEW UI CONTROLS" in the OP post.

Yeah, noted.

Also noted.

There is already. Asides from health potions, you also have a healstation™ that does exactly that. Look for a green plaque.

Played for 10 minutes. Here are the bugs I found.

1. Quite frequently I get spawned outside of the grid? Like all the enemies and items are inside a walled level but I'm outside? I don't know if there is supposed to be some kind of entrance but since each step costs resources I'm not willing to bother look for one.

2. Is this supposed to be played with PC? Because sooner rather than later while I'm using the keyboard arrows, I find my character no longer center aligned on the spaces. This makes it unplayable as the character will no longer fit in doors.

3. Enemies sometimes just don't appear and I'm getting pounded by a pink square.

Gameplay wise I don't know what I'm doing, what to do, or how to fight. I notice that I can attack after a few tries but that still isn't helping me beat enemies. The vision system is wack as it randomly shrinks or grows? And for PC the text is big enough to read, but not big enough to read AND play. I need to actually stop, put my eyes infront of the screen just to read that a chest was empty.

Figured I'd give it a go again, but it's still rough.

I still havn't seen the healstations though.

I've noticed a green square, usually near fountains, they don't seem to do anything.

Managed to parry...once. Kept trying but eventually gave up again. Combat to a beat is really cool, but it currently just feels bad. Depending on what you plan on doing my suggestions is to widen the block window a bit, and make it like a 50% damage reduction. Then abilities items can widen the timing window or increase % blocked.
Same could be done for attacking. Adding in a vulnerable window, which does increased damage.
Then you could also have an ability to show these windows.

More bugs though: The green squares mentioned above. Talking to the statues can lead to the selections sliding off screen permanently.

Little 'floppies' seem to appear randomly. No idea what they are, the don't seem to do anything.

Sometimes doors take multiple button presses to open? I'm not sure what color means, I had assumed I couldn't go through the red door and ran around forever, until coming back and spamming the button until it opened.

The rotate function on the body cam doesn't work, and clicking 'face' permanently zooms in. Also I somehow bugged it at one point where I didn't regain movement after leaving the menu, forcing a restart.

Speaking of which, after getting the statue BJ scene the same also happened, no control regained so I had to restart.

EDIT: Oh holy shit, there's an entire bottom section of the screen I didn't know existed. Where apparently enemy health bars are located, though it's aligned poorly.

Also has a chest option for the bodycam screen, but it does nothing either.

I only know this because I ran Lossless Scaling on it.

Aye. Spawning outside of the grid and the movement stuff, that's actually due to your PC being too powerful, lmao. Bug is found and fixed, though. Well, hopefully. I cannot reproduce it on my end, but I do know where it stems from. So we'll have to see next version.

As for number 3? Yeah, I'm still looking for this issue. I had 3 people tell me about that bug, but I really can't reproduce it. I'm looking into it, though.

That's the kind of feedback I'm looking for. Those are pretty neat suggestions. I'll look into it.

For the statue thing, it's perhaps the same kind of bug as the movement one. It's actually timing. I allowed the player to regain control before the UI stuff is done, and apparently that leads to disaster. I now fixed those, player cannot press any buttons until all UI shenanigans are done completely. On better PCs than mine, it's almost instantaneous, so you shouldn't see any difference.

As for the doors? Red doors are locked. You need a key to open them. They're scattered around in the dungeon, little rectangles spinning. If the door is blue and you need multiple presses to open them? It's a bug. I'll look into it regardless.

For the rotate function, try and play on the square a bit. Click near the middle of it and drag around. A crosshair should appear. I redid the whole thing, though. Just finished testing it, actually. Just now. Everything should be fine, now.

Good catch for the BJ scene. That one is also random, but it's good to know so I should look into it.

-------------

Again, for those still wondering: This isn't a "game". You can theoretically start it and get pretty far (I managed to get to level 5) but I honestly don't expect any of you to be able to. Like I said earlier, I released it in this state for the bug chasers (the digital kind, let's be clear), because apparently a bunch of you love doing this. This is the time where you guys play with it, destroy it, and come back to yell at me. It's also the time where you can make suggestions while the iron is hot. I don't mind adding a few spices to the pot.

Thank you again, guys. Seriously. The help is tremendous, and it seems like I really needed it. You're doing proper.

A few more bugs; you can use chests infinitely and every time I've used the teleporter I don't actually spawn on the next floor and it's a softlock

Issues: no full screen, screen is cut off, it does not work on certain screen sizes, and finally it feels like it was built for phones which is a waste as I do not want porn games on my phone (as they have too small a screen). All and all HARD PASS until these issues are fixed.

Rotation is doing nothing on the avatar menu. Maybe just have directional rotation buttons?
Wait, drag and pinch? is this supposed to be touch interface only?
Also, camera locking on face click is happening on my end too.
At level transition i'm losing my character and the screen moves but cannot interact with anything
Heck, why not have the default view be front facing so at least if there's issues, it'll be someone useful from the start?

Hitting the menu ui locked the game after the fountain animation

I can't play normally, everything goes fine, but as soon as I press start, the game becomes 2-3 times more than it should
