I have no idea what you are talking about- the relationship system isn't gone- it's still there, we haven't touched that at all.
Are you using an old save where you already maxed out someone's relationship level, then are trying to trigger a relationship conversation with that same character? For now we just skip it if you're at max, since there are no new events. (We need to make a repeating event or something for people who choose to pass time even on a maxed character.)

OR, since you mentioned adventuring, are you talking about the hearts that would come out of the characters when you gave them items they liked? Because that's also still there, but that's just been moved into the sandbox mode. The relationships in the main story are instead now handled more like "social links" in Persona.

Indeed you're right, the system is still there, my bad, i wasn't aware at all there is saves for relationship progress :ROFLMAO: Since we go back to day one when we reach the end of content i assumed all progress were reset, it did not occur to me the data panel could be for something else than unlocked scene:oops:

I guess the gallery code system wasn't working on the GOG version, we pushed a fix for that- if you're having trouble unlocking the gallery, download the game again from the latest link on the thread OP.

How do you unlock Izzy DP? I unlocked it in earlier update once and have never gotten it since! :(

I can check and see if something broke with a recent update, but I tested this recently and it was fine.

For the full 1.0 release, we want to have a proper save slot system in place so players can save and load before their favorite scenes. Maybe we can incorporate scene viewing as a part of the gallery too but we'll need to look into that more.

We don't reset the data because originally we wanted players to be able to replay and max out everyone's relationship- originally we were thinking of tying it to a harem ending, but we're probably gonna handle that a different way. We probably should go and clean up all of the variables on a reset then.

Meanwhile the autobattle mechanic is mainly used as a part of the ending- there is a final boss you end up confronting, and the characters who you have max relationship with end up joining you during the fight. If you didn't befriend enough characters, you won't be able to beat the boss, and thus get one of the bad endings.

Other than that, we currently don't have any plans to expand it out mechanically.

Sucks that the Celeste NTR sprites are all there, but they just didn't use them, instead making it a blatant 0-100 obvious to the paladin guy with no real buildup

We did use them, then people complained that story mode just recycled the sprites from sandbox mode and didn't have "proper" CGs.

Now we give story mode as many unique CGs as we can and now "wow they didn't use any of the sandbox mode sprites."

What the fuck are we supposed to do?

Even if the complaint is mainly about pacing, I still don't see how the sprites make any difference- they're not any less tame or "more of a build up" than the current progression of story CGs. If anything the story CGs allow us to have more control over the intensity & specifics of the scenario to help build things up rather than just, "oh, okay she's blowing Rayan. oh, okay, she's fucking Rayan." Scenarios like the minotaur or futa Serania allow Percival to be a part of them which is supposed to help ease into some of the more hardcore scenarios.

Have you considered that you can use both? It doesn't have to be one or the other. Especially as you seem to push sandbox mode as a sort of what if? scenario, or a post game. It shouldn't matter that you're re-using assets, sandbox is effectively gallery mode.

I am a massive fan of your art style and the tavern style format, was waiting for updates to this game forever, but the sudden jump from nothing besides a hint that Celeste did something in week 1 to everyone being explicitly aware of what is going on means there's no build-up, nothing to discover or get slowly excited about.

I am in no way saying don't include story CGs. CGs are doing an amazing job, but that's no reason to also remove the sprites. Let me stand outside the door when Ray'an is in with Celeste and just see the edge of Ray'an facefucking *somebody*, without seeing that it is Celeste, for example.

In my opinion, one of the worst things to do, is listening to whining comments and bending to them. I mean, you'll never satisfy everyone at one and there always will be "haters". That's normal. Focus on what you want the game to give in the first place.

Lets say, you want a build up done "this" way - do it and focus on that. Think of ways that make it interesting for you as a player and it will come up fine. Don't try to reach 100% of the market just because some kids whine about something. You'll always reach others who will appreciate your approach.

If there is something to listen to, if you need a feedback, it would be a constructive criticism and constructive feedback that gives you ideas of how you might improve what you've already built. Not "oh but sprites are this and that". You're still in development stage. Don't forget that just because someone complains. If you want to work around people's ideas, use "early access" approach over focus on each negative comment. Ask people for ideas, ask for opinion, and filter the responses by "this is helpful to us as devs" and "this is just complaining about something we are still working on and gives us nothing but anxiety".

I think, it would be great if the game had more things to do in story mode. Like "you have a shelter here, but food is not for free" so go hunt for it" - the sandbox adventure. Or when two characters are in same room you enter, and you have good enough relationship with them (2-3 hearts) have an option to have threesome with them. I don't know how hard it would be technically, but you do. And from that point, you can work with that like: Okay, can we do it? Does it make sense for the game we want to deliver? Etc.

Don't stress over people who complain and give you nothing to work with and do what you want to achieve. I am sure it will be okay in the end. After all, you can always make final version and build on that like "dlc" content or "second chapter". ;)

OH, okay now I have a better idea of what you are suggesting. I was about to say "we already do that" but I realized that the lewd/chaste route branching actually gives me opportunities to expand on that even more- I can keep Celeste occupied with other characters in the free roam on the lewd branch, which also adds to the NTR aspect since while she's having sprite sex with other characters, you can't hangout with her and advance her affection levels.

You either have to say yes to the choice to see other people, OR trigger 2 or more sex scenes (excluding guest characters) in order to meet the lewd route conditions. So you can say that you "need time", but if you cheat still trigger it, no worries there. Once you do, you will be given another choice as to whether or not you are sure you want to continue down the lewd route.

Sure, it's just a difficult balancing act sometimes- everyone says to be true to your vision, but the more I work on game dev the more I realize that games sort of have a gravitational pull of their own. It can be hard to tell when choosing to listen to feedback you'd originally never consider is "compromising your vision" or when it is actually the right move.

I think Starlets was plagued by this problem the most- as many people to this day still prefer earlier builds of the game compared to what ended up being more accurate to my "vision" for it. (Something I hope the upcoming update helps correct, but any sort of major re-work always carries some risk of alienation so we'll see.)

I've been keeping up to date on this game for ages, basically since it first showed up here, and I have to say I love the idea of the sprite animations making a comeback for story mode. Getting separated from Celeste on the morning of day 2 then seeing her blowing/fucking Rayan (can't remember where the ' goes XD) was great, though maybe a bit fast for the current pacing of the game. I was really looking forward to seeing more scenes like that, where you can see Celeste getting corrupted on the other side of a locked door, but Percival can't, then someone else comes along and distracts Percival so he doesn't notice anything like in the old day 2 events, but then you removed the sprite animations from the story mode and I always wondered why that was. Guess I know now that it was people complaining, as per usual I suppose.

Either way, this sounds great, and I look forward to seeing more from you in the future. The game may be mildly janky, and it may have long load times, but I enjoyed it enough regardless to buy it on Steam, so you're definitely doing something right. Keep up the good work, and don't be afraid to ignore suggestions or complaints that don't line up with what you think is best for the game, but especially don't feel like you can't take suggestions you do like just because it may not fit your original intent. Sometimes you get inspiration from an outside source, and that's okay. Creativity is open-source, and no single person can come up with all the best ideas themselves.

Anyway, long-winded ramble aside, I very much enjoy the game. Keep it up!

The game is great, and haters will always complain. It's not worth getting worked up about. Maybe it's just my gaming preferences, but the only thing I miss in this game is: 1) An option to choose to have skipping text only work on text you've already read, like in a typical renpy game. That way, I could play different dialogue paths, experience the entire game a bit faster. You know, you skip text you've already seen, but when something new appears, the game lets you know. 2) Some hints in the gallery. Not an unlock code, just actual hints. Nothing annoys me more than when, after beating the game 2-3 times and exploring various options, I open the gallery and see a scene I haven't yet unlocked. And for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get it. I could Google it for a step-by-step guide, but it just wouldn't be the same. Even with a simple hint like "Meet character X in the bedroom at night" or "Ignore/develop relationship with character y" I feel some satisfaction that I managed to unlock all the game content without Google

Nós os usamos, mas depois as pessoas reclamaram que o modo história apenas reciclava os sprites do modo sandbox e não tinha CGs "adequados".

Agora damos ao modo história o máximo de CGs exclusivos que podemos e agora "uau, eles não usaram nenhum dos sprites do modo sandbox".

Que porra é essa que a gente vai fazer?

Mesmo que a reclamação seja principalmente sobre o ritmo, ainda não vejo como os sprites fazem alguma diferença – eles não são menos mansos ou "mais construtivos" do que a progressão atual dos gráficos de história. Na verdade, os gráficos de história nos permitem ter mais controle sobre a intensidade e os detalhes do cenário para ajudar a construir as coisas, em vez de apenas "ah, tá bom, ela está chupando o Rayan. Ah, tá bom, ela está transando com o Rayan". Cenários como o Minotauro ou a Futa Serania permitem que Percival participe deles, o que supostamente ajuda a facilitar a entrada em alguns dos cenários mais difíceis.
I also like more with the cgs, the izzy update was so good i purchased the game on steam

Try entering the password then closing and reopening the game.
You're not missing anything though so if it doesn't work, w/e.
