Right, so where to begin...
This game artistically is wonderful, taking a lot of the simpler curves and textures from the original and making an almost "paper origami" aesthetic that you rarely see in hentai, and it is a breath of fresh air in that regard. Sex animations are fluid and doesn't take too much imagination to understand what's happening. The attention to climaxes is very welcomed. You will not feel flash-banged after playing, which is great given some of the more modern h-games.
The gameplay though... I understand anything I say here would be taken as "skill issue lol", but to those who care I can't say that the combat feels satisfying even after mastering parry times- and yes, this is a parry game, not much expression of creativity or new combat styles. Just "can you press this button on that exact frame?", and you either build into fast flurries or heavy attacks, but the heavy attack is more unreliable making it almost pointless when you could just double up lights for a few more stamina. Speaking of which, stamina mechanics alongside timing mechanics always feel unfun, and this game oddly feels like a homage to it.
The combat does seem to branch out more if you can get enough gold to buy passives and items and such. That is- if you can get enough bloody gold to invest anything without having a near death scenario. Your character only starts out with 125 health. ( and, no the developer seems to have intentionally made it difficult to find this number in most cheats so you cannot simply just change the value ) Enemies usually have varying attacks and feints but usually on average they'll do around 40-55 damage after their combos, and if you don't parry or block you'll regret even trying to play aggressive at all; since the only method of healing is H-execute which heals you for a bit of HP. Making the combat into a very slow, tedious rhythm game, and if you don't use the H-execute then that's it. You don't get much else healing early game and you hardly can get to end game if you don't no-hit.
I say, if this is the case, enemies should be placed in the gallery after any interactions with them. I understand wanting the player to actually play, but they should be able to play their way. The developer should have a preferred way of playing, yes, but there should be options to that so the player doesn't feel like supporting the game development is paying for another 2-3 hours of hitting retry and hoping for the best.
I just find it very odd that developers would go out of their way to make a game harder to cheat in if it's single player and the reward is their art... it's very unmotivating and makes it out to be this weird Player vs. Dev relationship where everyone is trying to break the game to see the art but the dev self sabotages it in hopes that they play the game THEIR way and any other intention is seen as a problem.
Take Mystic Knight Maya. People play the game when they want to, casually or for difficulty, but the dev supplies the player with a entire Debug menu they can use at anytime in case they just want to experience the fight AND see the scene without any effort. In the H-game scene that's usually because they're one-handed. AND they provide a gallery in case they don't care about the fight and just want to see the art in a fastpaced slideshow. If there's an update ALL players feel encouraged to play it through, and they can do that at their own pace, and in whatever way they want to, AND support the dev/artist.
Rant aside though. Yes you can have somewhat engaging combat and then afterwards see your character get pumped.
