I love it so far! Very diverse set of characters and the writing is really well done, will definitely be watching for updates!

I did notice that when playing as a female, the photos on the wall in the intro still mostly show the male protagonist, felt a bit odd.

Playtests Needed

Hey everyone!
The update is finished and we're now ready to begin testing the game. And that’s where you come in!
We’re looking for volunteers who would like to play through the new update and provide detailed feedback on their experience.

Here’s how playtesting will work:

1. Reach out to Gopher on Discord if you are interested in playtesting.
2. You will receive an early playtest version of the build.
3. Play through all of the new content.
4. Within one week of getting the playtest build, complete a survey answering questions and providing details about your experience.
5. Once the survey is submitted, you will be given the Playtester role in our Discord and gain access to the Playtesters channel where we can discuss any additional feedback you have.
6. If you currently have the Playtester role, you’ll need to complete this round of playtesting to keep it. Anyone who does not complete the playtest and survey within 2 weeks will have their Playtester role removed.

Please note that this process takes time to complete. Playtime will vary depending on your pace, but you should expect to spend a few hours finishing the new content and filling out the survey.
If you are unsure whether you can complete the survey within a week, please do not volunteer for this round of playtesting. To keep the process fair, those who receive the playtest build but do not complete the survey will not be eligible for future playtests.
After a week of playtesting, we will begin addressing any bugs that are found. Once everything is stable, the update will be made available to all Patreon supporters!

Pretty much anyone has a chance to access the playtest, it's just that some are given more priority. Here's the order of priority that they put up on Discord:

1. Patreon Supporters
2. Playtesters from the Demo

4. People who reached out before today about playtesting
5. Everyone who messaged today

What’s New in the Welcome Week Update
In this first major expansion, we wanted to give players the chance to truly settle into life at Edgefield and build relationships with nearly all of the main cast through brand new scenes. You will also meet a few new faces who will play important roles in the story moving forward, with more choices that shape how your connections develop.
Alongside that, we have introduced and expanded a variety of in game systems that will grow into core parts of the experience as development continues.

If you go back in the thread, the devs made it very clear there are no hard dates for content releases. They do also post free timeline updates on here and Patreon so that everyone is informed on what’s going on rather than being silent

Damn it, why does female dominance always have to be imposed? I mean, the MC doesn't get along with his stepsister, but in his dreams he tells her that she's the boss.

I know it's a matter of preference, but is it necessary? I wish there was a way to avoid it.

Or choose the role; it seems that the main character always has to be the passive one.

Playing the new update for Patrons and literally everything about the game so far is "This game is a straight male MC, but we included a female MC and gay options by slapping a coat of paint on the straight guy." Every interaction as a female MC or gay male MC is as though we're a straight guy. I guess I should've expected as much when they included collectible monster girl cards and no option to have men. All of the situations we're put into with potential love interests are with women—being stuck in an elevator with one, the cam model girl being in her towel out in the hall, the dom dorm RA, etc. Peter talks to us as though we're his straight bro even if he vaguely wants to fuck us, we're forced into wanting to fuck our stepsister in a dream, the stepmom practically sexting us, etc.

There's clearly effort being put into making the game, and I've really been looking forward to new content. Obviously, it's still early in development, but it's incredibly disappointing to see it advertised with the emphasis on being able to be queer or a female MC and then get Straight Guy Lite™ instead. Doing the bare minimum by swapping the male MC graphic for a female one just feels like a cash grab.

That's what I feared and it's very discouraging for me to read that. The game is still in the early phase and I do hope the developers will work eventually on this. I would support them as soon as I see genuine gay support, not artificially tacked on one.

As I am only interested in a strict lesbian playthrough this is not affecting me personally. But I understand what you mean and I was also wondering about it in the first release. With the emphasis the devs put on their writing I was really wondering why my FMC instantly got friends with the dude circle and not with some of the girls.

As it was only the initial release I was pretty sure that would be corrected with this update but it seems not to be the case.

Hmmm, alrigth. Well, I am going to see for myself when it's public. I still like the artstyle and the lesbian sex scene in the initial release was pretty hot. So I am still looking forward to the future of this a lot while adjusting my expectations a bit.

It's quite disappointing. I play as a lesbian, so technically it wouldn't affect me much. But in the first version, I never felt like I was playing as a female protagonist, but rather as a guy with a female skin, which killed my immersion while playing.

Obviously, I'm not asking for men to be sexually forced on lesbians, but it would be nice to have a major change in the friendships, to be one of the girls, and not one of the boys, changes like this help make it feel like they really want to tell the story of a female MC, rather than just a changing the skin and pronouns.
