Thanks for the encouragement. I probably spent too much time worrying about how to prove or disprove this and I think you are right. We put a SS of the game into a detector and it came back 100% AI. The pictures of the actual game are clearly not AI generated.

Some people like to troll. I'll stop feeding the trolls after this post.

Will it have a few that get bigger in general? Some snu snu bimbos for a couple characters would really give some great variety. Maybe the cowgirls or other monstergirls having such traits? Either way your game seems right up my alley. Definitely giving it a look as you're checking a lot of boxes for me. All the best, dev.

PS Dev is this actually a 0.2, since the game isn't complete atm? It might throw some people off expecting a game whose core content is wrapped up with a 1.2 version number.

One of the cowgirls is designed to be a muscle mommy type character. I'm not super into that, but in a harem game lots of kinks can be added.

As far as the numbering was concerned, I did think about that. I know it isn't super standardized across the site. We may switch it up.

there's a significant differences, this isn't "evolution" this is a completely different style and aesthetic, with a completely different technique for colouring/blending as well as specular effect (light refraction) that he never do.

The image you linked was from 2020 per the signature. Here is an independent image from November 2024.

I understand skepticism and I'm sure it is was unintentional, but please don't mislead people. Nix is a good artist. Part of his style shift is because of requests we made. That and people can get a lot better in five years.

Calling people addressing it as trolls comes off super disingenuous and being overly defensive about it just makes you look worse.

I get it. But you also have to know that some people are trolls. I can't be the only person here who's been to 4chan. I'll give you an example from the latest build that convinces me Nix is not an AI slop hack.



I see this process on every piece of art. Most people don't seem to argue over whether Nix does the drawing. I also do not think it is plausibly debatable if he does the coloring. Most people when they see the process more argue that the shading or maybe blending is AI. Shading and blending tools have existed in Photoshop for a long time. But regardless, maybe after drawing and coloring, he put it into stablediffusion and got the shading and blending. This is obviously a possibility.

We also know that AI detectors are very inaccurate. I included references in the OP. The Pit from 2018 is identified as AI, DevilHS from 2020 is identified as AI. A screenshot from this game is identified as AI. So that cannot be a good method for identifying AI.

We all have to think about things in our own frame of reference and with the standards which we all create ourselves. Look at the final panel in the comic. There is some shine and shading on her pants which is what I think people identify as "AI" shading or "AI" look. Maybe I am wrong, but that is what I think of when I think of AI stuff. But if you look back at panels 2, to the panel where she falls in the water, there is no shading, shine or blending that resembles that. I would argue that it is, superficially, a different style.

If the image was put through an AI processor, how did that happen? Did the AI mess up or get lazy and not upgrade every panel? Who messed up? Nix or the AI? Which panel should have received more effort? 2 or 4? Obviously 4. 4 is the panel people want to see. So a real person exercising prudent time management will put more effort into panel 4 than into panel 2. AI would be indifferent. So, it just seems unlikely that there is a meaningful amount of AI. Additionally, Nix make fairly small modifications based on feedback.

Photoshop CG tools may have been AIified. If that is the case, everything is AI. The fight is already lost. Maybe when we start adding animations, that may change your mind. Live2d needs for there to be extensive layering and objects to work right and part of the reason I picked Nix is our animator said his raw files have a lot of the object layering necessary for easy animation. You do you. I hope you like the game anyway. The story may be a little cliche, but the game isn't AI at least.

I believe you when you say he's talented and he's capable of doing great stuff, that's not the question, and I'm also not saying it's a "bad thing" to use AI in any way you see fit.



when you compare theses two pieces, you notice how similar they are, the line-art, the shading, the use of colour dodge, the colour pallet, the way he draw eyes, nose, hands... I have no doubt that this is legitimate, honest hand made work.

the only "suspicion" I have ( as in : I can't prove it) is that he has been public for more than two decades and stayed consistent in his technique, but somehow over night with the arrival of AI, he suddenly "improved" after 20 years of stagnation ? now that's suspicious.

Yeah, I know that RPGM is not for everyone. And in fairness, I don't think the point of the fetch quests is the fetching, it is the plot along the route to and from the fetch location. But I know this style is not for everyone.

The other off the shelf option is RenPy and that has the wall of text problem or a repeat actions for a hidden +1 until new image unlocks problem IMO. Since this is my first try, it seemed unduly risky to make a more customized game. But RPGM give some flexibility so we are planning a stealth mini-game, puzzles and a mild city building mechanic.

Thanks. I don't mind that much though. We're trying different things out and both positive and negative feedback will help make a better game. (Hopefully, unless I am too dense). I'll get this game done at least. It will have a beginning, middle and an end. Our next chapter should be released in mid September and will have our first animation.

I think this is good enough evidence that any further accusations will be assumed to be trolling, especially since one of the more egregious accuser has done similar things in other threads.

Err, those AI-detector screens say the images are real photos taken by a human, as in photograph?!

I don't really care or understand what the AI issue is, seems simply making something sound like an accusation is enough to implicitly convince people it's a crime?
I do understand someone doing the work doesn't appreciate being denied his labour, but I'm sure you don't need to be told that trolls feed on reaction, so not to pile on with redundant advice, but since it is against one's instinct not to respond to a false image of oneself and you guys ended up posting these test results, here's a reminder that ignoring, banning and blocking are the Way
