Base Elona has less content, also limited only with a short story in North Tyris, while Elona+ in the current state expands the story, adding two more continents as well, South Tyris and Lost Irva (Ylva?)

Elona gods don't get their power from believers. They're god because they're...god. A personified form of powers that created the world. They don't need offerings but doing so nets you buddy points with them.
Note that the custom gods doesn't count in that definition.
It kinda makes sense, but only partially, since Kumiromi can be a god of life and death (god of nature basically), Itzpalt is a god of mana and elements (obviously), and... Mani is a god of science and engineering? Sounds strange...
And who is Lulwy? Goddess of wind? But wind is just a mere element that Itzpalt controls. She is more like a goddess of... BDSM.
Wait, Itzpalt controls only certain elements, so his allias is just a joke. He is basically old farted wizard.
Opatos is a god of earth? Earth is just a mere element. He is more like god of gym and flex.
Jure? She can heal and resurrect, which is part of nature (creating and maintaining life). She is more like a goddess of all tsundere in the world.
Yakatect? She is just a business woman, that somehow carries goddess power. Perhaps bought it? LOL. OH THE LEGENDARY DEED OF GODSHIP.
And who the hell is Ehekatl? It's said that she is relatively new and powerful enough to change one's fate, to the point when ether wind may never appear in your gameplay? This is not just goddess of luck. it's a crazy woman with wizard mode powers. And she likes... COCONUT CRAB!
I guess it's just weird game design that makes no sense...
And I feel like they were just humans, who grinded so much, that they become very powerful at certain aspect, that their power looks like a miracle (excluding Ehekati, that is manipulating all dice rolls, and it's insane).

Yo, I've been reading this thread for a while, and considering Elona keeps popping up whenever I search for a new game here, is there any way to play this on a phone/android?
Mostly because it would be kinda rough to play the modded version on my family's shared computer lol.
Edit: Also yes, I know there's a non-modded version (which I did give a ride), but I want more of the stuff y'all are having with those mods.

considering Elona and other variations on it like Plus and Custom, are all on a Costume engine,(at list as fare as i remember) it might not be the easiest task to get running on a mobile Phone...
not to mention how many key inputs are used in this game, through i guess it might be easier to use the controller input mode if you managed to convert it?
you are probably better off to play the mobile version "Elona Mobile" on a Phone...

That's because you're taking the aspect they have now. In the past they're very different.
Mani is (formerly) god of knowledge. He became known as god of machines because machines (and guns) are product of human intellect.
Itzpalt is god of magic/mana. He controls the basic element that creates the world, and gets associated with Elements instead because humans lack the understanding of the concept of atoms and chemical reaction/radioisotopes.
Opatos is the god of the planetary sphere, which power presides over the planet's core and it's tectonic movement. Without an active core and tectonic movement there could not be life in any planet (just ask Mars) He's also responsible for 'spawning' dungeons that completely block the effect of Etherwind, which makes for a last-ditch measure. Why he's all buff? Because there's nothing much to do down there.
Jure is the goddess of vitality. Not healing. She's behaving like that because she's traumatized that her powers are what makes mutants (caused by etherwind) still viable living being, where she would like for them to be released by death instead.
Lulwy is the god of atmospheric movement, not 'only' wind. She holds the control of the entire planet's worth of atmosphere, AND she's the only reason why the Messhera virus haven't eliminated all of humanity. She hates Ether and Etherwind, but it's a tool that needs to be used lest humans goes extinct. She can very well block the Etherwind from blowing by using her power, but she didn't; that's why her weapon is made from Ether.
Yacatect's true aspect wasn't wealth. It's 'Community'; humans can't live without the support of others, and that fact spurs trade.
Finally, Ehekatyl is not the goddess luck; she governs FATE. Her decimating the entire map from MewMewMew action is a play from the idiom 'have a brush with fate'. Her symbol is a fish because catching a fish means your fate and that fish's fate is entangled in such a way that you ended their life to prolong yours; the fish is fated to die in your hands, after all.
Great explanation, but isn't appearance of nefias/dungeons is a work of god of chaos (Tezcatlipoca if I remember correctly), that remaining gods captured after a great war and sealed? Or perhaps Opatos have similar power?
thank goodness there are mods like custom that disable some of ano's stupidity. did you know theres an anti afk farming trigger too that basicly kills you? or how about the update that added "thirst" just as an anti potion spam mechanic that also added pissing... or disabled save and load with button keys. if i wanna save scum or use cheesey tactics because some area of the game is made of bullshitium thats on me all updates like this do is kill intrest in the game or serve as gotcha's with the message you cant have fun unless its done MY way... on a single player game.
if your a spellcaster the one that draws charges rom rods and gives it to you as spells is nice as well... some spells are in rods that are hard or impossable to get otherwise. early game theres one thats useful gives you a bunch of armor better then what you can get at that point.
You could just throw potions on yourself. And you can piss to pick it up and mix with a well, to fill it up when it's dry (You need 2-3 piss puddles), but it has it's limits as well (you can also fill a well with any potion except that cures corruption, or you will somehow taint a well?). Noa is actually giving us more opportunities by making difficult mechanics. Also, throwing a cursed piss can possibly make enemies weaker, if they throw up too much? Anorexia debuff.
Yeah, having a mana rod, which you can also recharge, basically means you have unlimited mana.

well you can also use urine/piss in a "Pot of Fusing", to make an encounter repellent fore a 100 world map steps, through it doesn't prevent Bandits or Assassins from The "Beauty and the Beast" job.

Nefias are manifestations of leaking powers coming from the sealed Tezcatlipoca. Imagine having a water balloon that's constantly being filled with air: at some time it will rupture, right? One of Opatos' duty is to 'vent' that balloon using the planet as medium, forming Nefias. Without Nefias the whole world would be flooded with monsters, because monsters will spawn everywhere, and at the same time with Nefias Opatos can easily kill a lot of monsters at once by crushing them with diatrophism.
I see. Looks like gods are very busy entities.
Opatos prevents Tezcatlipoca's monsters from overflowing the land by burying them under the earth (accidentally creating nefias?)
Lulwy prevents meshera from spreading by moving ether winds where it's needed.
Kumiromi is doing his best to make sure that fruits and vegetables will grow great even in so unstable weather.
Itzpalt, I believe, controls the balance of mana and all elements, so no magic user will hurt himself if using magic (excluding the spell meteor), while magic still will be usable?
Jure... is resurrecting everyone? No one can die truly after all. And because of her, everyone are able to regenerate easily?
Mani just blesses people with engineering knowledge? To create a mechanized life, which will be unaffected by ether winds I guess? Actually, he hates the sleeping process as well.
Yacatect trying her best to make sure that people will have an option to maintain materialistic communication? Just like in our world...
Ehekatl is trying her best to make sure that nothing bad will happen? Until you make her angry at least, since she is trying her best to maintain her sanity as well.
And Eyth has become a part of Void, due to Mani's and Lulwy's scheming. Interesting... can you find him in the Void of Elona+?

Elona+ has cut scenes, at least text based. And for some reason I didn't see any, before downloading CustomGX mod.
As far as I know, GX version gives you many useful tweaks to make your gameplay more comfortable. For example, upscaling, to make text more readable, disabling thirst or even programming battle behavior of your pet.
And it fixes cut scenes, yeah.

Some correction:
Jure is keeping the human population stable by changing how creatures in Elona breed. They can produce eggs and crossbreed with monsters, after all...
Itzpalt allows the manipulation of laws of nature via mana. He didn't care about humans exploding their face because a magic gets miscast or because you pronounced the spell wrong.
Yacatect (tries) to make sure that every human has access to anything they need (via trade). It's just goes wrong somewhere, because you know human greed knows no boundary.
