Elona is great but not sure it's even NSFW, honestly if you're gonna play it, grab Elona+ and the Elona Custom GX launcher, can find them on the Elona subreddit.

Yeah, part of the downside of all the freedom the game offers. You do get used to it eventually. In general it's pretty difficult to get into but also extremely addictive once you start to learn how shit works. Maybe the indie game I've played the most in my life. I think only Rimworld could compete if that counts as indie.
The amount of roleplaying options available is nuts. So many playstyles are viable and there are like a bajillion ways to make money. Think I might try and see how much money I can make raising and selling slaves this playthrough, lol. Going to turn them all into kemonomimis. I usually make a necromancer eventually too (Summoning undead/necromancy has a totally different mechanic than usual magic stuff. It's pretty interesting in custom.).

I think that was what first-timer would say when they're playing Elona. Sure, the controls are hard because there's so many actions you can perform, so it's gonna take a while remembering the shortcuts and why drink was not 'D' but 'Q' for 'Quaff', but if you want a simplified controls you can always play the mobile version.

I figured them out by replaying the tutorial over and over. Took me a hot minute to learn how to use a bow, and I still have trouble every now and then, but I'm learning. Only trouble now is figuring out which class I want to play. If people have any recs, I'd love to hear them.
Played this game years ago, pretty sure there's no sexual content in it so you might wanna tag that.

So I mentioned earlier about if any version of this had re-created the Moongate stuff but I couldn't find anything but I did find a few custom maps and this one perfectly illustrated why I kinda loved the absurdity of visiting custom maps because you'd either get a bunch of re-creations of in-game locations or just a persons home but then you'd get stuff like this and you'd even get some maps that let you save the NPCs from that map so they'll show up in your game by using a summoning crystal(I'm going through the maps I downloaded but most of them were like the home maps aside from the one I'm sharing now but if I find any like that I'll share them here). All you need to do is extract it under the user folder and then go to the showroom(That random tent on the overworld map) southeast of the first town. Be aware that if you try it though you'll probably die if you don't have really high stats.

I will say that I am mostly a controller guy when it comes to not porn games, still I specifically called them not new player friendly, they are not hard, also considering it is turn based you have all the time you want to navigate the menus, they are complicated but honestly they kinda need to be if you consider the complexity of the game, it takes some getting used to but it is mostly a question of time, most menus are actually self explanatory and shortcuts are not necessary if not for your own time, I have not played enough to remember them but I still enjoyed the game greatly, honestly a bit of patience is needed in the initial stage of learning the game but in this case I will say to not be discouraged by the controls, the game is too good to let that be why you do not play it, also the controller is a bit of a problem because I had to bind the keys manually, mostly because the game did not recognize it, after that it was a relatively smooth experience.
This is a PC game to be sure. You forget when you haven't played an older one in a while but they used to use the whoooole keyboard.

Yes. Sanity starts at 0, and it increases the more exposure to sanity-draining effects you are exposed to, which can lead to confusion, sleep, dim, or fear effects, or worse at higher levels. Don't use the japanese wiki directly, in most cases; use the Fandom one.

Yes, we do, and how many people have said that they feel that they shouldn't be, because they don't fit? Also, I wouldn't say Elona counts as an adult game, either. That's like saying that any and all depictions of breasts means that it's a porno, which is blatantly false. Star Trek: The Original Series had the "boot scenes", but it wasn't "adult". Same with TNG with the sexual scenes that the Troi matriarch would get, or other similar scenes featuring Riker. That's effectively what prostitution is in Elona. It's not the text-based scenes that you see in games like TiTS or Corruption of Champions or similar text-based games, or anything even close.
