Not exactly the point I was going for. Lets say you have the option of 3 girls. If I want to make optional scenes covering all of the girls, you have to render the same scene 9 times. Even if there are only 10 renders for the scene (and that's HIGHLY unlikely), and even with a powerhouse PC capable of 5 minutes per render, you just went from just over an hour spent rendering to around 8 hours of render time for that one scene. And that isn't including the time needed to pose, any post work that needs done, etc. I'm not by any means saying never do it, I'm just saying that sometimes, it is unrealistic to expect a dev to make everything optional. In the case above, that's over an 8 hour time investment, for one scene that would have taken 1 hour if not for all of the options. Granted, it's a little extreme,
Yes, devs want to make money for their game, but unless the dev already HAS a shit-ton of money, most have to do things like work a full time job etc on top of making games. Making every little thing optional increases the development time for every scene, often exponentially. And no, it's not reddit lingo, it's how the world works. KFC isn't going to change their recipe because you don't like it. If you don't like it, you go somewhere else. Making every little thing in a game optional on the off chance that someone doesn't like it is what actually kills a lot of these games, because it increases the required work load so much that the dev, who is possibly workling a full time job - plus has a family - doesn't have enough time to EVER finish the game. If a dev is making an adult game just to get money, they chose the wrong field, because most of these games make jack shit overall.
